Beth, I loved this video. Nobody is making this kind of entertaining ahead videos. This is how you have to do it to get it all done. Prep! The decor, organizing, cooking, color, lighting and details are so much fun to do. You had a lot of help and for this type of party, you NEED a lot of help. GIving the helpers a sample of what you want to be done is what I've always done for large events. (50 tables) II don't do that anymore as I'm older. I said, a girl after my own heart.
I can't believe this video was almost an hour. I was enraptured the whole time and the video flew by! Your attention to detail is amazing. So many great ideas. I was cheering at the end when the paella was served. Thank you!

I feel like I learned a lot from your channel - even small things like decorum, courtesy and etiquette. I love how you find it charming to not have things matchymatchy either. I love the whole minimal vibe and how it’s an aesthetic but when you describe your taste to be more homey it makes me appreciate and like the aesthetic to. I have to admit, I know how I am on the day of a party, and I’m one big ball of stress. I’m getting much better about planning ahead, something I didn’t do 14 yrs ago as a newlywed. Now I see the beauty of an extended plan, sticky notes, delegating jobs, etc. I have to say, as an aside, I LOVE your pea gravel / formal gardens. And: your wedding dress?? Wow, gorgeous!!!

I love the fact that Beth wants everything perfect, such as which way the stitching on the napkins face, but everyone doesn't think shes crazy or controlling. Its normal life in her world to have a 5-minute conversation on a plate or special ordering tomatoes. I want to live in your world BETH where this behavior is celebrated!
Gosh, Beth! That was a real undertaking, but you made it look like fun - most of the time! I enjoyed watching your process and seeing you work out the problems. And I love that you shared those problems! It’s what sets you apart and makes you special. You actually want us to feel like we could successfully plan a party, too, so you show us how to just stop and rethink it and not be afraid to change the plan. My mother always used to say (and I had such a hard time with this!), “Nobody else at the party knows what you originally had in your mind. You can change anything you need to and they won’t ever know you wanted it to be different. But if they DID know, they’d probably think the changes you made were brilliant!” And then there you were with your “pivot and move on”! Anyway, it was a beautiful party! The lights, the tables, the food, the glorious cake - it all just came together and it’s obvious everyone enjoyed themselves. You looked gorgeous in that red dress and Philippe looked handsome and happy at his party. Glad he had a wonderful birthday! 🎉 Oh, BTW - you both looked just as beautiful standing by the birthday cake as you did standing by your wedding cake! 💕

Wow Iam pooped out from all the hard work you did! So beautiful . You did a fantastic job with everything and you made me feel better seeing you do things the way I like too way ahead of time testing things out making lists and post stickers on things. I host 25 to 30 family members every Thanksgiving plus working full time. I have to figure everything out every detail even when to go food shopping. Working full time is the hardest part being Iam so tired from a long day at work and then I have to get home and roll up my sleeves and get to work on the holiday. Somehow it all works out just fine my big Italian family is happy Iam exhausted but I always take the following day which is Friday off which gives me a long weekend to relax and have leftovers with friends or family who stop by. It’s harder at 62 but so worth it. You are such a beautiful person and a blessing to all your family ,friends and all of us whom you graciously invite into you life.Have a beautiful blessed day 😁🍁🍂🐿🍄🌻

Hi Beth. This video was amazing!! When I have a dinner for any special occasion I try to make it special also. I learned from watching Martha Stewart many years ago to not worry about having things all matchy matchy and it actually makes things more interesting. You made your husband's birthday a very special night even if it did hit a few snags. Lol. I liked the tables separated as you did them. On a huge long table it would still be impossible to talk without people yelling. Lol. Everything turned out just beautiful and the food and cake looked delicious. Setting the tables at an angle was genius (no way would I have thought of THAT) and showed the importance of being able to pivot. I have to admit, I know how I am on the day of a party, and I’m one big ball of stress. I’m getting much better about planning ahead, something I didn’t do 14 yrs ago as a newlywed. Now I see the beauty of an extended plan, sticky notes, delegating jobs, etc.
I have to say, as an aside, I LOVE your pea gravel / formal gardens. And: your wedding dress?? Wow, gorgeous!!!
The 'icing on the cake' is the joy that you bring to the whole process.

I love the fact that Beth wants everything perfect, such as which way the stitching on the napkins face, but everyone doesn't think shes crazy or controlling. Its normal life in her world to have a 5-minute conversation on a plate or special ordering tomatoes. I want to live in your world BETH where this behavior is celebrated!
Gosh, Beth! That was a real undertaking, but you made it look like fun - most of the time! I enjoyed watching your process and seeing you work out the problems. And I love that you shared those problems! It’s what sets you apart and makes you special. You actually want us to feel like we could successfully plan a party, too, so you show us how to just stop and rethink it and not be afraid to change the plan. My mother always used to say (and I had such a hard time with this!), “Nobody else at the party knows what you originally had in your mind. You can change anything you need to and they won’t ever know you wanted it to be different. But if they DID know, they’d probably think the changes you made were brilliant!” And then there you were with your “pivot and move on”!
Anyway, it was a beautiful party! The lights, the tables, the food, the glorious cake - it all just came together and it’s obvious everyone enjoyed themselves. You looked gorgeous in that red dress and Philippe looked handsome and happy at his party. Glad he had a wonderful birthday! 🎉
Oh, BTW - you both looked just as beautiful standing by the birthday cake as you did standing by your wedding cake! 💕

The food looked amazing! 😍 Also, I love the potting shed. I could see it as a bar with two lanterns hanging on either side of the door to bring in some light and one hanging inside or a few with a bar set up. I love that idea! I think you might need another shed for the potting items. :-)

Wow Iam pooped out from all the hard work you did! So beautiful . You did a fantastic job with everything and you made me feel better seeing you do things the way I like too way ahead of time testing things out making lists and post stickers on things. I host 25 to 30 family members every Thanksgiving plus working full time. I have to figure everything out every detail even when to go food shopping. Working full time is the hardest part being Iam so tired from a long day at work and then I have to get home and roll up my sleeves and get to work on the holiday. Somehow it all works out just fine my big Italian family is happy Iam exhausted but I always take the following day which is Friday off which gives me a long weekend to relax and have leftovers with friends or family who stop by. It’s harder at 62 but so worth it. You are such a beautiful person and a blessing to all your family ,friends and all of us whom you graciously invite into you life.Have a beautiful blessed day 😁🍁🍂🐿🍄🌻

This has been one of my favorite vlogs. I have been watching weekly for about 11 or 12 years. I loved getting your prescription box in the past. Maybe you could start that up again. Hi Beth. This video was amazing!! When I have a dinner for any special occasion I try to make it special also. I learned from watching Martha Stewart many years ago to not worry about having things all matchy matchy and it actually makes things more interesting. You made your husband's birthday a very special night even if it did hit a few snags. Lol. I liked the tables separated as you did them. On a huge long table it would still be impossible to talk without people yelling. Lol. Everything turned out just beautiful and the food and cake looked delicious. Ms. B - Bravo! What a beautiful evening....it's all in the planning and the details and once again YOU made it look amazing from the garden lights to the cake "candles". Setting the tables at an angle was genius (no way would I have thought of THAT) and showed the importance of being able to pivot. Now...I knew we were kindred spirits from the 1st Vlog I found but as I was drinking my morning coffee out of my fave (and used daily) pottery mug I spied the exact cups in your cupboard of serving pieces - est voila!
