Would be good to take leek seeds in warm water before sowing in a tray?

They say soak beans and the like but never soak leek seeds.

Hiya....you plant these seeds really shallowly...fill the tray to the top and you still only get 2” compost, but topping up after sowing only makes the seeds deeper...not the roots..no room for roots to grow downwards...
Compost depth doesn’t keep seeds warmer, just covers them deeper.

I thought an inch of compost covering was too much.
