    More discussion about float would be great . Like 30’sec on exactly which way to screw to get desired float . I’m having an awful time clipping in and out especially out. I’ve loosened the screws on the spring and added some dry lube .

    Notice how the video skips after he states that you'd be ready to place the rubber walking cover over the cleat. It's a bitch to do and I've found that, after getting it placed as best as I can by hand, I have to stand on it, even slightly doing a tiny one legged hop, to get it snapped in.
    Oh, and there's no "click" sound or feel when tightening up the 4 "self tightening tiny screws", at all as stated at 4:29. They have blue lock tight on them. Just tighten them to spec (around 2.5 NM, or snug).

      I believe you need to remove the metal plate ships connected to the rubber cover, install the metal plate on the cleat and then install the rubber cover.
      I agree that the written instructions and the above video are NOT clear.

    At 1:15 I see you are installing the pedal over a washer. I just received a new set of Speedplay Zero pedals (been using them for years) and do not see any washers included, nor have I ever used washers. Are they necessary or recommended?

    I've been riding on Speedplay for 10 years for two reasons : lower stack height & choice of spindle length, and it's time for me to get new pedals, but since Wahoo doesn't seem to have solved that 'lateral play' issue, I'm about to switch to Shimano Dura-Ace (+4mm)..!

    Any recommendations where to find a 2.5 nm Philips head torque wrench? Speedplay used to sell one. I think if there is a recommended tension and is not a common tool it should be included either kit or at least be able to buy separate.

    • @lazurm

    When going from Shimano SPDs to Wahoo Speedplay, will a saddle height adjustment be necessary?

    • @wahoofitness

      You may need to make a small adjustment. Stack height between pedals is common so it is likely you will need to adjust the saddle a bit.

    On my new Comp model with the Easy tension cleat, the cleat cover fails to snap on. Despite my best efforts, aligning it correctly, pushing one side in first or not, they simply don’t snap on and just fall off. Same here. Have fought one cover for 20 minutes before giving up. I’ve been using Speedplay for a decade and never taken more than five seconds. I guess it’s the new Wahoo chintzy plastic. Back to my genuine Speedplay pedals I go.

    • @sleepdeprived9181
      @sleepdeprived9181 Рік тому +1

      Because it's ambidextrous?

    • @lazurm
      @lazurm Рік тому

      It's for style (my guess) in that it presents a smooth finish. I can look at the threads and know which one is left and which is for the right side (the right pedal has normal threads, the left is reverse threaded). Usually the pedals aren't changed often enough so it's a bother once in a blue moon, or less.

    It went together easily in less than an hour. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

    He talks about float adjustment heel in heel out with the two screws. However, I’ve not heard how to get a zero degree float, a two degree float or whatever in between float up to 7.5 degree float. How is this achieved?

    • @Lemond75

      Simply screw both float adjustment screws all the way in.

    • @tomcochran9871

      @@Lemond75 Thanks for your input. I understand the total float is 15 degrees which I’m assuming heel in is 7.5 total degree and heel out is 7.5 which will equal 15 degrees. I notice a total of nine circles some smaller than others. If you screw in all the way the two screws , as you said, you would have zero degree float. I’m wondering how you would achieve a two or three degree float ? Are those circles a indicator of measurement? Thanks.

    Le livret d’instruction pour l’installation est déficient: Petites photos, plusieurs inutiles. Le livret semble s’adresser à plusieurs modèles de pédales Speedplay. Chaque modèle devrait avoir son propre livret. Les deux premières étapes sont assez simples à réaliser, la troisième l’est beaucoup moins… Le présentateur devrait offrir plus d’options si l’usager ne parvient pas à faire en sorte que la pièce grise adhère à la cale. On voulait bien faire, et montrer que le montage est un jeu d’enfant, mais quand cela ne vas pas, les options pour remédier à la situation ne sont pas mentionnées… Décevant.
