    I wish the kid luck, it's definitely an awesome idea and there is a market for it. For everyone who knows what it is made with, just chill out. Not everyone has the time and skill to make something like this. I'm probably going to make one of these at some point.

    It would be cool to see version 2.0 be insulated like the 5 gallon Yeti buckets...might keep your bait alive longer

    • @scottmichael3745
      @scottmichael3745 3 роки тому

      Like use a 5 gallon, then spray foam, then incert a 4 gallon so you get a inch layer of foam between the inside and the outside! Would be a great engineering aspect! I feel ya! But I still love the design! Well done too the young man!

    Biggest problem I see with this bait bucket system is the protruding screws inside. They will rip those baits up with motion.

  • @fuq584

    They sell this same plastic container for 30$ on Amazon its called "Gamma 2 Vittles Vault outback stackable 40lb airtight Food container" I guess buying cheap plastic molds from ali baba bolting on some stuff on the sides and calling it a 150$ tub is a big hype.

    199.99 for 78.99 worth of components and a 8 year old kayak forum DIY. While I understand the "not everyone can do this" reasoning, I'm amazed people shell this amount of cash. Looks like I'm going to have to start selling my own baitwell.
    Also all those exposed SS screws on the inside will really do a number on your hands and w.e bait is swimming in there. If he throws some plastic caps or uses proper length bolts that should help.

    I AM PRETTY SURE OLE DAD WAS VERY INVOLVED WITH JR ON THE DESIGN OF THIS PRODUCT... JUST SAYING

  • @crispyspicykaizen

    This is a good idea and could be more successful with some tweaks but as it stands, people seem to recognize this as a dog food container with some decent diy modifications and it's great that a 14 yo took initiative to make this happen. At the price point, I think a good percentage of fishermen expect more from their products since many fisherman I know are quite handy with diys...with some being more cheap than others lol...however one way to mitigate that value expectation is if we knew that the proceeds were going towards preserving or helping sustaining environmental causes or a charity or a group suffering from covid since those were motivators and inspirations. Let ur mission speak and your actions reflect it instead of seeking just the profits. A sizeable profit margin on some easy to acquire materials is tough to justify for most. Also check out design thinking as a possible focus point for your next iterations...the problems you experience may not be the same as others in your same area or other areas. The more people you use as your base , the better you can understand their real problems. Good luck.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't think giving a portion of the proceeds to charity is a good idea in the beginning stages of a company. This is an excellent video addressing that idea: ua-cam.com/video/YqVwTbTR-Ao/v-deo.html

      After doing some research and I’m not trying to dog you by any means I think it’s great for a young boy to try and be creative and make some money but here where I’m at with this I can get the exact same container on Amazon for 30 bucks and do every thing else and maybe spend a total of 100 dollars minus the cart I just don’t see how you charge 252 or if you build one on your website it comes out to 296 it’s just not a product for me at the time but in all honesty keep up the good work

    This looks like it would wear out from scrapes on the jetties for 150$ i could save another$ 50 and buy a yeti and use it "as a bait cooler" and that'll last much longer than a thin plastic container with stuff bolted on the sides.

    um, aerator in a dry box...
    hope there is a vent somewhere in that dry box or those pumps won't last long trying to pull air through that dry box seal
    great idea though
