Thanks The Buchers BLock. They are intresting little tins. Dont know if you have caught many of them but Mrs Deadlocks has a small collection of them. The first ones we got had coins in (and took us 2 hours to figure out how to open them haha). Thanks for waching👍
@@Deadlocks86 You never know. Sometimes it comes down to personality. I do not think *all* kids should be exposed to lock picking. My uncle gave me a computer when I was young and told me not to load up certain programs because I could damage the operating system... I opened those programs right in front of him afterwards!! Just to see. So he locked the computer down (Windows v3.1) so the only thing that it was capable of doing was loading up Windows Write (a very basic word processor). He said once you get to know that properly I will come back and let you use a different program. Well through experimentation I was able to use that word processor to get access to the main operating system again and do what ever I wanted. That was a pivotal point in my life which has made me the kind of IT guy I am today. Connecting dots, "What do I need to do? What do I have access to? How can I get around this? And... how could I stop someone getting around this?" While other people in my IT class were learning the book, doing the book... I was taking shortcuts and figuring things out. So, lock picking could be something similar for kids, because doing something that isn't supposed to be done (with honest and decent understanding that it should not be abused), bypassing things etc can be a mind-opening thing which can spill out into other areas where they will be more inquisitive and make the best of what they have etc.
Windows 3.1. I remember that haha. Back in the days where you could still use M.S.DOS. you may have a fair point. My da done similar things and wouldent let us do anything on the PC. If we where playing computer games he would load them. Resulted in me being crap with technology haha. I did eventually get to mess with the computer properly once it was old and out dated haha. Exploring stuff is a good way of learning 👍
@@Deadlocks86 and we were told to limit the use of the turbo button on the 12MHz 286, as the computers would wear out too fast. 4 months later, they were replaced with 16MHz 386. So I should have kept them on turbo the whole time. Engineering me now know that turbo button only disbled the wait instructions inserted to emulate a lower speed. So the ran at 12MHz the whole time.
@@SilentButDescriptive The last time I came by an old laptop that had win3.1 still working, I arranged the icons, and pressed Shift-Alt-F4 to save the settings . Good thing I still remember the win3.1 shortcuts.
The ability to make them would be a handy one. The only place I can find them is in the cheap Chinese pick sets. I had to buy a £10 set of amazon to get that one. Worth the tenner tho. I use it alot👍
