You can mix moving and static exercises - you don't have to choose one or the other! Exact times depend on your goals, but aiming for around 30-60 total seconds can be a rule of thumb. For example, 6 sets of 6 second holds. Or 2 x 30-second holds. The harder the exercise, the more you'll need to space it out. Feel free to experiment! Have a wonderful day!

You sir, are appreciated! Us old folks are talking about you in the senior center. That's where I heard about you and I told my cashiers, and they tell two friends and so on and so on! You are nice, thanks!. We can understand what you say and how to do it! Stronger seniors. Yeah, be afraid, be VERY AFRAID! Most of us are veterans.

It amazes me that this guy has more upper body and core strength than those who are much bigger than him, yet alone guys in his weight class. Goes to show anyone with the right mindset and time and train functionally and correctly.
Principle of specificity. He's not really stronger than bigger guys (bodybuilders, powerlifters etc.), just more trained in certain movements/ exercises. I am sure his compound lifts for example would be relatively "mediocre" compared with those of the mentioned bigger guys.
@@helmuthvonmoltke5518 He trains relative body strength so I imagine he has a greater degree of slow twitch muscle fibers compared to a powerlifter. He also has much more balance which allows him to do exercises someone who may be as strong as him on paper couldn't.
How has he not been on ninja warrior??? He could give me a whole lesson on core exercises while completing the ninja warrior course and hit the buzzer with no problem 😳
Hybrid I just wanted to say that you inspired me to start my calisthenics journey a while ago and even inspired me to become a calisthenics UA-camr. I’ve grown a lot as a person tackling calisthenics and even content creating and wanted to say thank you for doing what you do! All love!
I really appreciate you encouraging people to take it easy with honest straight forward workouts. Because it really is too often people think they need to train like an already fit athlete to get into shape and miss so much.
One thing I love about core workout is once you start seeing that your getting better you always remember when you struggled and then you feel empowered
never thought of it this way. core has different function than just to contract and relax unlike biceps and chest for example… so it makes sense to train it differently and not with just reps
You'd be surprised... the biceps also has a stabilising function. Stick your arm out straight, palms facing upward and hold any sort of weight in your hands. You'll feel your biceps. Many muscles in our body are involved in much more complex movement patterns than we think.
Love the short! Just wondering, could you make a video about how to incorporate isometrics into our routine? I want more grip and stability strength but I'm not sure as to how heavy the hold should be. Aka how many seconds until failure to see strength results. Thanks!
Good idea! You can put isometrics many places, but for pure strength, I'd do them before your workout. Short holds of 6-10 seconds so you can maintain high intensity in your sets. However, for things like grip, I'd train those after your regular pulling workout. For example, dead hangs from a bar after pull-ups!
I just found your channel and I am so so thankful. You are so understanding and knowledgeable and have motivated me unlike anyone else. I just wanted to thank you and tell you to keep up the good work your dedication is much appreciated!
