As for the status of this cover, it's not an official cover (as in: used anywhere in the marketing or release in Germany) but still a cover with really high production quality. However, Selphy's cover of the Shakugan no Shana Opening has been used in the German release of the anime as the opening. She also has generally the highest production quality in terms of anime covers in Germany imo. And - as others have pointed out - she is a voice actress here (not having any role in Youjo Senki / SoTtE but eg. being the German voice of Shana in Shakugan no Shana).

I am fluent in German as a second language and German dubs are generally really high quality, and manage to fit characters well (Comparing to English dub where allot of voice actors sound flat, monotone and generic, lacking emotion)

Hell yeah, that worked way too well, honestly, and that's from a German native speaker. And I'd totally watch you reacting to more German versions of openings. Especially for German originals, as in Openings that were made especially for the German dub version. A few series that had that, that I can think of off the top of my head were Inuyasha (which you still need to do the JP openings for as well), Sailor Moon, and One Piece (for the first opening) and the original Dragon Ball series. Other than that, German versions I liked back when dubs on TV were the only option to watch anime were Digimon op1, Ranma 1/2 op2, Dragon Ball Z and Detective Conan (all of which were German lyrics versions of the JP openings) and the Pokemon opening (which was the English one with German lyrics). As for the dub of Tanya the Evil: I went and checked out the German dub real quick, since I don't usually watch dub, but personally I don't think Tanya's German voice fits her at all. Other than that it's a decent dub.
Definitely re-watch it with German dub! Actually my favorite dub language over the original Japanese. Some of dialogue just hits different. One of the few shows where a non-native dub is my preferred language, the other two being the English dubs for "Baccano!" and "Black Lagoon".
Saga of Tanya the Evil season 2 is announced for end of 2024 on myanimelist the animes are listed till fall season of 2024 and then later and thats where Youjo Senki is so maybe early 2025
German native here and ive watched the entirety of tanya in german and i LOVED it. so id recommend it. It sounds very authentic and fitting in german to me. Tho i will admit i havent seen the original JP anime of it so cant compare. As for the song tho i def prefer the german one because it fits so much better to me. And because i get mildly anmoyed with the JP one because they pronounced the Word "schießen" wrong as they pronounce the ß as a b sound when its supposed to be an sss sound. Still love the song even in JP just a small pet peeve i have whenever i hear it. Also, id love to watch you react to selphius german cover of the toradora OP/ED silky heart and vanilla salt as those are some of my favorites as well.
About anime songs in other languages, that have gained popularity and sound better than the original for many fans, I could recommend 3: 1) "God knows" from the anime "Melancholy of Haruhi Sudzumia" in Russian. This one was made during the fandub era by the fan studio that did the dub on the anime (Reanimedia). That dub was one of the few high quality ones at the time, they even dubbed the songs. 2) "Tabi no Tochuu" from the anime "Spice and wolf" again in Russian. For the same reason more or less, it was from the different era so it hits differently. Plus the song itself is such a banger. 3) "Cruel angel's thesis" from the anime "Evangelion" in Greek. It was made for a very specific audience so it has all the marks of dedicated fan product (like some abridged series that we recommend you to watch :) ). The video is half the fun, the song is another.
Hey, if you are interested: There are many other official german openings. Especially from the 90's - 00's. Our first One Piece opening was completely different from the original version
german dubbing became pretty good around 2014 up to now. so i tend to often wait for the german dub on instead of watching in jp. p.s. the Los! Los! Los! should be more pronounced like Lows Lows Lows (the o is long) and not Laws ;D
There is a movie which is the direct following story (canon) of the anime, you can of course react it when you can. Easy to find. And the season 2 has been confirmed, we just don't know the release date, we have to wait.
Good dub that I would recommend over sub? GTO - French. That was a passion work, and you feel it. Heard Black Lagoon was also pretty good in French, but I watched it sub, so can't confirm
OH, an incredibly good dub version of an opening would be Detective Conan's first opening, in German again! "Nur Fragen in meinem Kopf" is the title! The 3rd one "Mit aller Kraft" is also great!
You should check out "Katusha." It is an old Russian/Soviet war song and is incredibly beautiful. And check out "Yuki No Shingun." That one is a Japanese marching song from the 1800's about soldiers marching through the snow and freezing to death while the leaders dont care about them. It is a really good and tragic song. Both of them are historical songs, but I was introduced to them through the anime Girls Und Panzer. That show also introduced me to many other historical songs that I had never heard before. And the anime itself is terrific.

I recommend checking full "Flugel of freiheit" Another anime opening in german (this one is originally mostly in german). It's almost 6 minutes and anime shows only 1,5 which is a shame because part left out is great as well

Hio the older Anime intros nearly ALLL have great german versions no matter if One Piece, Digimon, Monster Rancer, Inuyasha and so on. Sometimes they "simply" took the original melody and created the german lyrics for it and at other times they did everything from srach no matter what it sound great^^. How about making an "comparaison reaction" in wich you choose 1 op from 1 anime (or let vote) and reacht to 3 versions of it (japanese, english and german) as exapel the first Inuyasha Op sounds COMPLEATLY diferent in all 3 languages might be fun^^

i can only speak for english dubs, but i think checking out a few scenes of Hellsing or Hellsing Ultimate in english is worth your time for Crispin Freeman's performance as Alucard alone. as for opening and endings, funimation used to dub the One Piece openings and endings and i think they did a great job. especially Brina Palencia's version of Memories (ed 1)

From what I know there is a season 2 in the works but no official release date has been announced as yet. There is some speculation it may come out later this year but again nothing concrete as yet.
I'm half-joking there, but if you want something really... unique... regarding foreign dubs, try the french version of Hokuto No Ken. (The anime itself, not just the opening.) It's pretty old (dating back to the 80s), but the french dub team did truly special work on this because of the circumstances. (Quick summary: serious post-apocalyptic story with gory combat, with visuals inspired from Mad Max, aimed at late teen/adult public... was aired on french TV in a children cartoon show. Read "children" as "below ten/early teen". Big cultural misunderstanding here.) If you decide to have such a section, this would be a good fit for a retro-anime session + comparison with foreign version.
"Los! Los! Los!" is the ending, not the opening. The season 2 as been anounced like in 2021? don't remember exactly, but still not any news... we hope it will be released, but without any news it's hard to say that it will trully happend.

Hey, if you are interested: There are many other official german openings. Especially from the 90's - 00's. Our first One Piece opening was completely different from the original version
german dubbing became pretty good around 2014 up to now. so i tend to often wait for the german dub on instead of watching in jp. p.s. the Los! Los! Los! should be more pronounced like Lows Lows Lows (the o is long) and not Laws ;D

There is a movie which is the direct following story (canon) of the anime, you can of course react it when you can. Easy to find.

OH, an incredibly good dub version of an opening would be Detective Conan's first opening, in German again! "Nur Fragen in meinem Kopf" is the title!
The 3rd one "Mit aller Kraft" is also great!

You should check out "Katusha." It is an old Russian/Soviet war song and is incredibly beautiful. And check out "Yuki No Shingun." That one is a Japanese marching song from the 1800's about soldiers marching through the snow and freezing to death while the leaders dont care about them. It is a really good and tragic song.
Both of them are historical songs, but I was introduced to them through the anime Girls Und Panzer. That show also introduced me to many other historical songs that I had never heard before. And the anime itself is terrific.
If you want to check the sound of the german dub search for Saga of Tanya the Evil - Synchro-Clip #(1 to 5) Crunchyroll Deutschland - but it could be Region blocked
I recommend checking full "Flugel of freiheit" Another anime opening in german (this one is originally mostly in german). It's almost 6 minutes and anime shows only 1,5 which is a shame because part left out is great as well

Tanja the veil plays in an alternative Universe Germany, i believe that is why its strongly associated with German.
Hio the older Anime intros nearly ALLL have great german versions no matter if One Piece, Digimon, Monster Rancer, Inuyasha and so on. Sometimes they "simply" took the original melody and created the german lyrics for it and at other times they did everything from srach no matter what it sound great^^.
How about making an "comparaison reaction" in wich you choose 1 op from 1 anime (or let vote) and reacht to 3 versions of it (japanese, english and german) as exapel the first Inuyasha Op sounds COMPLEATLY diferent in all 3 languages might be fun^^

A second season of Youjo Senki was announced back in 2021. Don't think there has been any updates since then. It's anyones guess when/if it comes.
Season 2 is well in works. announcement was made for next year.
i can only speak for english dubs, but i think checking out a few scenes of Hellsing or Hellsing Ultimate in english is worth your time for Crispin Freeman's performance as Alucard alone.
as for opening and endings, funimation used to dub the One Piece openings and endings and i think they did a great job. especially Brina Palencia's version of Memories (ed 1)
I would love to see you reaction to an english cover of Mukanjyo by AmaLee. I watched it to understand the japanese opening better and man it hits different.

From what I know there is a season 2 in the works but no official release date has been announced as yet. There is some speculation it may come out later this year but again nothing concrete as yet.

I'm half-joking there, but if you want something really... unique... regarding foreign dubs, try the french version of Hokuto No Ken. (The anime itself, not just the opening.)
It's pretty old (dating back to the 80s), but the french dub team did truly special work on this because of the circumstances.
(Quick summary: serious post-apocalyptic story with gory combat, with visuals inspired from Mad Max, aimed at late teen/adult public... was aired on french TV in a children cartoon show. Read "children" as "below ten/early teen". Big cultural misunderstanding here.)
If you decide to have such a section, this would be a good fit for a retro-anime session + comparison with foreign version.
