Good job RC! I always try to remember and equate the players in the market to drivers on the roadways comparing the number of drivers that actually obey the speed limit and practice safe driving. You know, turn signals, fully stopping at stop signs etc. The cops are absolutely some of the worst offenders just like the Market over watch.
So much explanation on what short selling is and who does it but my question is, if its illegal then how are the trading systems allowing this to happen? So you understand my question, today nearly all shares are on an electronic shares register. Surely naked selling can be stopped overnight by making the electronic trading systems demand some sort of reference to a unique identifier of the share you are selling before the sell order is even recognised on the stock trading system.
Couple of things, if Robin Hood removed the BUY button, WHO was buying if the investor hit SELL? The brokerage? Every transaction has a buyer(s) and a seller(s). And if Brokers had the monopoly on Buying Gamestop, isn't that against the Anti-Trust laws as the Brokers are "Price Fixing.?" I just watched "Gaming Wall Street" and WOW, what an eye opener. And after watching it, WHY would anyone ever use Robin Hood to trade?
Wanna see something crazy? Active shorts on a U3 halted private company $MMTLP. Shorts are still paying interest. Been halted for 54 days. Hundreds of millions of naked shorts on a private company. Should be interesting.

Also those Naked Short Sellers do not suffer from Infinite Risk.. they NEVER have to cover. Nothing forces them to cover like us Retail.

Good question Mike, that would be something that regulators would have to look at going forward.
