oh yea...the warmth when walking in is a blessing for sure..and brings an entire new feel to the realization of the home coming together. Making a Great House Warm Again. lov from south alabama.
I'd say that heat is definitely a very big deal! Love your kitties! I'm glad you got two of the little ones so that they can grow up together. Your laundry room is looking fabulous!
What a Journey! The heat is on!!! Very excited for you. Work in the house will be nicer for ya'll. Wont be long at all and you'll be moved in. You and J make wonderful team. I hope we get to see him and you do more projects when this dream is done. Love J he reminds me of my daddy.
Can relate re the heating! We had no insulation and only electric heaters in our cottage last winter. Spent a fortune on heating only for it to go right back out again! This year we have a wood burning stove, and insulation in the ceiling and it is SO toasty! Walking in and feeling heat is amazing. Hey from Ireland!
You're getting closer! It would be pretty to put some nice wallpaper behind the folding station. Quarter round would be look nicer to close up the gaps. Did you ever dry wall inside the basement stair where your pantry pocket door is exposed? It will be letting cold air from the basement infiltrate your pantry into your kitchen. the darker stain definitely looks nicer on your counter. The contrast is very pretty with the cabinet color. Would love to see more than just one project, if possible.
I love seeing how far you have come. I just bought my first home, and it has a very similar setup up as yours, so it's nice to get some ideas. I have to fast-forward through the staining parts because the sound of the paper towels rubbing on the wood is like nails in a chalk boars to me
Just for future reference, if you hit the epoxy with a heat gun, you will eliminate the bubbles and level out the epoxy at the same time. You can even finish the entire top with epoxy. Watch some you tube videos before doing it, you’ll have to mask off some areas.
I look forward to the videos. Now that there are so many little (BIG) things getting done. I think the laundry cabinet is looking great. The epoxy was perfect. I've wondered about that stuff. Now I know it's as simple as people say it is to use.
Love the stain color on the counter, that would have been a great color to use all throughout the house. Also would have tried the epoxy on a test piece, you're brave. Congrats on the heat, that's been a long time coming, well deserved! .
The darker counter top goes great with the pink in your laundry room. Congratulations! So glad you have heat, at least in the downstairs right now. I hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving with your family and I hope Jay has an awesome Thanksgiving also with his wife and family.
Abbey I hope you did your research on poly, resin and how to cover your bench tops with a sealant for protection. I'd hate to see you wreck beautiful progress. But I'm sure you have lol!!!. Coming along beautifully. I can feel the warmth from here. Soo close to finishing . ❤❤❤❤❤
That amazing! The cats are going to love that area ! Heat and looking out at the birds ! Nap time when they please! Luck cats ! Well heats done and water next?? I think your about done inside except for moving in! But there always outside come spring!
When I was stationed at Plattsburgh AFB in mid seventies our heat was via radiators. The pipes had to be above ground. Coldest it got in those 4 years was -27° twice. Couldn't drive my car due to not having block heater. That was cold trek to duty station to then spend most of day outside. 4 years was enough for me.
Here is 😮an idea. On the blank wall you could put a couple of hanging gizmos that fold flat against the wall when not in use. You know, for those hanging clothes you don't fold. Just an idea.
@justinjonbaugh caulking the trim is something you do after you install trim. Put in a baseboard, you run a small bead of caulking along it. You also use it to cover the nail holes. It's part of the finishing steps that a finishing contractor does. My husband is a finishing contractor and over the years, if picked up some of the things he's talked about lol.
Abby like your counter top.Very pleased you have heat…..I think you should have worn gloves Abby and not put your fingers in it.After all it is chemicals your working with.I only say this because I care for you and don’t want you to harm your hands at all.🥰🌺🌺
Little disappointed to not see the installation of the radiators...how they're installed to boiler etc. maybe u cud give us a look at the installation in the basement.
Don't breath that stiff in and no smelling it without PPG also don't get it on you and ventilation is a must. Be very careful. You're giving me a heart attack.
Yay for radiators! And heat! I’ve been excited for this to happen for you! Counter looks great. 🥰 And also, yay for Thursday videos! 😜❤️
I’m so glad you’ve got heat now! The counter looks so nice. Exciting progress going on there!😊
I love your videos and have been a fan since day one. You and Jay are doing a wonderful job with your house.

At first I liked the wood without finish, but now has rich Tone.
Good job Abby 😊

How about a row or two of tile around countertop and then a bead of a caulking?
You going to put up a Christmas 🎄in that beautiful bay window? What a difference a yr has made in your beautiful home! So exciting!
Radiant heat is the best heat ever! It doesn't make the air dry and keeps a steady heat. Perfect!
Too cold to work in an unheated house! Glad you got heat!

You can also use a hair dryer if you don’t have a heat gun
Big congratulations on heat in the house!!!❤🎉❤ You have earned it! The darker counter makes your pink look very rich and beautiful!
Love it!
It really is more efficient and gives better coverage to apply the stain with a small brush and then wipe off any excess. Looks great!
I like the color of the counter top it brings out the beautiful pink❤️
Your taking giant steps in finishing up😊 . Soon you will be living there.
So glad you have radiators fired up.😊

Those radiators are one of my fav things in your house.
The counters look beautiful ! I also noticed that you have the crown mouldings on your cabinets in the laundry room too which looks amazing !
So happy for you that you have heat now! As always, the kitties are cute
You can also do a combination of quarter round and backsplash.
Congrats on the progress.❤
Love the pure joy, on your face announcing heat!!! ❤
Radiant heat is the best, so nice and even.
Happy you have heat now. Love the counter top
Love the stain color on the counter, that would have been a great color to use all throughout the house.

Got ready for some winter weather!
Abbey I hope you did your research on poly, resin and how to cover your bench tops with a sealant for protection. I'd hate to see you wreck beautiful progress. But I'm sure you have lol!!!. Coming along beautifully. I can feel the warmth from here. Soo close to finishing . ❤❤❤❤❤

Good eye! Dark stain looks great! - watching from Florida
That amazing! The cats are going to love that area ! Heat and looking out at the birds ! Nap time when they please! Luck cats ! Well heats done and water next?? I think your about done inside except for moving in! But there always outside come spring!

Abby, have you thought about a standing wood fireplace? It really heats up your house…just a thought.
3 cheers for heat 🎉🎉🎉
Looks very nice good job
Ooh that darkercounter makes the pink look awesome
Yay for heat 🔥
Love the way everything is coming together ❤️ Gad you have some heat.
I was going to suggest that you use a brush to apply the stain! It makes it more even and you wipe off excess like before.
When using apoxy, you will want a heat gun to help eliminate bubbles, tons of UA-cam channels on how-to's.😊 Looking great!!
Love the color of the laundry counter!
Yeah!!!! So happy for you! This is def a milestone!! Congratulations!!
Here is 😮an idea. On the blank wall you could put a couple of hanging gizmos that fold flat against the wall when not in use. You know, for those hanging clothes you don't fold. Just an idea.
Exciting.
Love your videos! Your home is just so beautiful. Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving, Abby!💙💙💙👍
I think your poly would have filled in that knot!
So nice to have heat!!! Things are really coming together!! Maybe Christmas or New Years move in?
Good video 😊😊
The counter looks great! Id much rather stain than paint. To me it is so much easier.
Congrats on the heat and loved the video 😘👍🏻💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Stairs, countertops, appliances, anything else?
Pretty close to moving in. 😊
Looks nice!!!
Love the counter top
Love it.
You have excellent taste! 🥰
Wondering if you were going to go around and caulk all the trim you and Jay installed?
They did caulk. Before paint. Not a lot of footage of it I think.

You're really a hot chick now! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! 🍂🦃🍁🤠🙋
Are you going to add a light under your shelf?
I really like the color of the stain you should just leave it alone
Wow just in time! ❤
❤❤❤
Abby, what are you doing with stairs, just sanding? I sure wish I could see the house in person❤️
Wooooooow
No! I would keep it light!
Find pink and black tile just for the background
Abby like your counter top.Very pleased you have heat…..I think you should have worn gloves Abby and not put your fingers in it.After all it is chemicals your working with.I only say this because I care for you and don’t want you to harm your hands at all.🥰🌺🌺
Girl, please watch a tutorial on correct staining. Not a fan of multiple stain colors throughout

Hello from Brunswick, Maine, US. November 26, 2024.
Why didn’t you use like a tile or granite or marble for top ? Wood going to hard to maintain with a water stains and wear and tear
Abby, you really don't want to be sniffing that epoxy mix. Not good.
Little disappointed to not see the installation of the radiators...how they're installed to boiler etc. maybe u cud give us a look at the installation in the basement.
You really need to learn how to put on stain
Don't breath that stiff in and no smelling it without PPG also don't get it on you and ventilation is a must. Be very careful. You're giving me a heart attack.
