Just an FYI for ya, the side chain adjuster for an MS250 will fit the MS170. Get the kit and it comes with the assembly, the one screw and the plastic tab to block off the opening for the original adjustment screw. Get the OEM stihl one tho, the cheap knock offs are weak and don’t hold up very well. I think it’s around $10 for the kit.
Decent 'Close Ups' would have been nice. How many people could see the 'chain wear' you talked about? How many viewers could actually see the 'chain adjustment'? FIRE THE CAMERA OPERATOR!!

I know the recommended range is 12-16" but would I be able to run an 18" Stihl Rollomatic-E Bar on this chainsaw?
12-16 chainsaws are finicky

Do yourself a favor and get rid of that safety chain. Get a full chisel chain and you’ll never look back.
