    Bro stop presenting this like 3d modeling is dying, it ain't. generators and procedural tools have been in the industry for ages and yet every studio has a modeling department. All this does is show how far behind the blender community is on the tech because these were discussions the broader professional VFX community was having a decade ago.

    • @TopChannel1on1
      @TopChannel1on1  Рік тому +3

      tech follows an exponential curve most of the time, it starts out slow, where only technical people know about it, and then its adapted at a massive scale by the public, these tools have been around for years of course but not readily available to the general public, there is still room for 3d modeling especially for hero characters and objects, but when it comes to background assets most artists and studios are starting to rely more on generators and asset library

    I think the title is misleading but as a person who works on AAA games and environment design for film and tv broadcast. I can say for sure that 3D modeling is still here and to stay, but studios have/will continue to use generators and custom pipeline tools to speed up the creative process so that 3D modelers can focus on the fine details more so than the broad picture of the modeling process.

    • @TopChannel1on1
      @TopChannel1on1  Рік тому +1

      i realised that, so i changed the title, but my point was that all the libraries out there like mega scans and procedural generators its going to get to a point where anything you you need is already modeled in high detail and cheap to get or you can generate procedurally, the only thing left is custom stylized things but even those we are starting to see semi-procedural workflows like meta human, vroid or 3d model libraries that focus on stylized art in different styles

    Typical clickbait headline. What about product specific modelling like for tech products that haven't been released, in production? of course you don't want to model buildings etc, and trees for larger scenes so modelling isn't going anywhere. The title should be something more like 'AI helping to create multi-object scenes by replacing laborious modelling procedures'.

    • @TopChannel1on1
      @TopChannel1on1  Рік тому +1

    only if everything will be generically the same or set in the real world - for any new injection of imagination we'll always need people to make stuff. So Fantasy and Sci-Fi (which pushes the boundaries and is not just a wanna be of something else) will require loads of artists' input. It could mean pushing the boundaries for a generator but once you reach it's limits artists will need to pull up their sleeves . Also for the same reasons we could see new exciting wave of imagination to move away from stagnant derivative work because of the limits of generators. Also if you change a lot of the default textures for these generators, author or use another generator to make fresh looking things, you can use generators to do the heavy lifting and the artist can focus on the fun stuff.
