If you fix the nether portal, you should find a bastion and a fortress with a good amount of loot. Under the floor in the bastion, there is a singular piece of debris I have found.
I don't exactly remember but as soon as you spawn in and walk in a small hole in the wall, there should be a bastion, and if you look to your left in that direction there is the fortress. You don't have to go to the fortress by walking, just go in one if the bottom floors of the bastion and there is some nether bricks connected to it leading to the fortress.
