- Exploring a sprawling old homestead way out in the Mojave Preserve...so many buildings I had to split this into 2 parts! Who lived here?! Help me try to figure it out as I go along!
You're Abandoned Exploration Videos are just pure awesomeness! I miss just going out there & explore, I'm disabled now stuck on a Mobile chair & limited to where I can go with a walker!!! But watching your videos brings back all the old feeling of that kind of freedom to do anything ur heart desires. Thanks so much Wonder Hussy for sharing such awesome videos!

Hi Wonder Hussy, I know I suggested a visit to Bodie but now I've heard it's become a tourist attraction, so it might not be worth it. But have you heard of the Horton Mine in Northern Nevada? that would be cool...maybe in the near future....!!! :-) Have an awesome week WH :-)
Diamond point style window in the door circa 1915 to 1925, good quality lumber, and finishing details also around 1920, California craftsman style. Beautiful old place.
old style flour bin, or potato bin, were farm style kitchens, and the stovepipe outlets to the chimney. Wow wow and how.
A very good and interesting video...a very peaceful site with beautiful views. The chimney with just the holes were built that way because they usually used oil/kerosene stoves for heating and cooking... they just needed to duct it upwards and into and out the chimney. (That silver barrel on the stilts and on its side was for that oil). The work shed with the shelves...those were for pipe fittings. They were marked with their sizes and types. Thanks for sharing such a unique and serene place!
Family weekly was an insert in Newspaper Sunday editions. It was very popular all over the us.I liked your enthusiasm most of all..

Probably worked the railroad, what a lovely home. The brick was for wood stove. Wood stove's are so much better than fireplaces. Please be safe!
If there was a good well on property, You could turn that into a Oasis. I've done it in SE Arizona. You will have to protect your crops from critters, but i grew everything, shading some in heat of day and some times using those barrels for burning in the garden at night so they would not freeze. Nothing like a clear Desert Night for Star Gazing.

Here I am back 9 months later. I had not noticed the first time I viewed this vlog; this house is A KIT HOME, perhaps from Sears Roebuck. What hardware features I could see would have been consistent with mid-1920's Kit Homes. The pillars between living and Dining rooms would have been popular 1910 to 1940. The interior was never finished. The young wife for whom it may have been made. May have moved back to her Parents in Salt Lake. I don't know how old those Joshua Trees are but my guess is they are older tham Moi. (78)
The creepy hanging chain is for a chain hoist. Used to remove automotive engines. Can also lift anything heavy for loading or unloading.

It sure would! The mind runs wild with what could have happened. I like your take on the old occupants. The miner was caught cheating by the rich land owner. That's what the noose was for.

The pipe downstairs coming out of the brick would have been connected to the wood burning cookstove that was probably originally in the house. The papers you found were from 1975 but that home is a craftsman inspired home so probably built in the 1920-30’s. IMO 😊 Love your channel…

The bins with the "union" I/4 "STL" 1/4 "L" are all pipe fittings and their sizes...a union is a fitting to hook pipe together... stl is a street elbow (one end is female threaded and the other is male threaded.. "L" is an elbow (both ends female thread. They must have been doing some small piping around there as 1/4 inch is small pipe.
One wonders if anyone owns any of the property and buildings around there?

The old butcher block looks like it could of been made in the 1800s. Look's like from pictures I've seen from that era.

Even if she calls herself hussy and says she loves to behave badly (such as swear), I have to often tell myself not to develop a crush for her because we are supposed to concentrate on the abandoned targets she is filming. Glad to see I am not the only one who finds her likable.

The water tank with the birds nest was probably a sauna and the pipes going into the brick chimney thing was for wood stoves.
When the video started I knew just where it was. The place looked a lot better in the early '80s, when I lived out that way. Was already abandoned, if I remember correctly, but it was in much better condition. Doors were locked and windows intact at that time. I learned about it on a break at the old store in Cima. Always stopped at Cima, when they were open, for a snack between beautiful downtown 29 Palms, and my friends home in Las Vegas. Anyway, there are more places like this spread around the area. Enjoy.

There was a narrow nose peterbilt sitting at that cima store,guy kinda had a junkyard. He would not sell the truck as he "had plans" for it. His name was ray. He is probably dead by now
that Shell oil drum looks like it was used to collect rain run off from the roof then piped over to the shower. they are called cisterns. people use them for water storage when you do not have a good source of running water.
Another great adventure. Everyone is waiting for the scream when you finally do encounter a Snake, possibly the 2 legged kind. Where is the Hike and Strike?
That is a great old place, sandbox in front yard for kids?
That place is so neat! Can you imagine being able to fix it up! Man, that would be so cool! Sure is isolated though... I would like that, and not like that at the same time.

Good video Wonderhussy! That old house was very interesting, but it didn't appear to have any onside wallboard. Strange. It does make one wonder, who and why out here? 1974, thats quite a long time, you were probably in your baby years when people lived here. Be safe Wonderhussy.

Possibly a catalog house. Back when Sears, Montgomery Ward and J.C. Penny were viable at the early part of the 1900's (give or take) you could order a house from their catalog's. They would ship the plans, lumber and some hardware by train. Pretty cool way to buy a house. Then you had to put it together yourself. Being in close proximity to the rail line it just may be one.
Boy, would I love to live there. It looks to me that somebody is restoring tho-

Love Your videos but You should wear at the very least a disposable paper type mask when going in places with a hantavirus warning. it comes from the mouse dropping when they dry out. a bit of wind or disturbance can cause them to become airborne. Keep exploring. But Please stay safe
Good video when you were reading off entertainers names in Las Vegas I had an Idea it was mid 70's with Wayne Newton being at the Sands . My foster father A Allen Stroud and he were good friends .you also kinda of gave away the location hoping no hulagins come and do damage I also liked Whitney Houston's version of I will always love you best ,,,Love watching your videos , be safe in all you do
There is history to that place. Local newspaper dates it back to about 1912. It has no solid interior walls but had linen walls with plaster over it. I have been told it was a 'kit' house shipped in on the railroad.
Dave Budd it has that Sears-Roebuck catalog house look to it.

WOW that was a awesome place. I really liked the idea for the big water tank if it was a shower room .It would make a awesome shower room . the bird eggs were a cool find. Have you been to the abandoned Boron federal prison on the way to Ransburg and Johannesburg off of 395 another neat place to explore..
Looks like that old shop was a service station for people that broke down in the middle of nowhere before cars became for reliable.

Wonder Hussy, you are the only explorer who can successfully invade the Area 51 perimeter!! They wouldn't dare shoot you. In fact, they would find you so charming that they'd HAVE TO give you the full tour of the facility while filming. Go for it!!

Also, figuring out how old a place is, do close-ups on minor details: door hinges, door/window locks, screw heads, nail heads, wood joints, etc. maybe other people can chime in here.

This house was filmed on another UA-cam channel but in the dark as a spooky house. I fell in love with the house and built it in Sims both as a haunted house and as newer. Because you filmed this in the daylight I could see more. Thanks

I would live there in a heartbeat! Restore and keep things the same as possible no electricity. Gosh I love it.

Death Valley Mine I've been there. It was boarded up when I was out there. It should be boarded back up to keep out the vandals!
It was totally open....but I think it's so remote that no one goes out there to vandalize. There was a campfire ring in the front yard as if someone had camped there recently....but no litter, no shotgun shells, no bullet holes...it was magical!
Well that's good to hear. These places are getting hard to find. Should be rehabbed and used for travelers. Did you see the cabin at the salt tram and did you make it out to the springs.

I always see you in the dessert I love you by the way but not in a creepy way just love the fact your a gal thats not afraid to get out there an do cool things and see cool places but, i'd like to see you on the lost coast visiting the redwoods in humboldt i think you'd love it an i want to see you outta the desert on a vid lol just thought i'd say all that

Very dramatic entrance through those trees! -- If the Dunes has "Casino de Paris 75" what year do you think it might be? -- That kitchen service window (with shutters) makes me think that was a community dining area like in a boarding house. -- Those sliding pocket doors and rails are worth big bucks. -- You're lucky there are no bats in there. -- Glad you didn't touch those eggs. Momma would reject them. --

Wow, somebody stripped all of the drywall down and removed it. They were going to totally fix it up.
Richard they didn't have drywall back then, lath and plaster. this place looks like it only got built so far, then construction stopped, intrestingly
Don't think so. It may have had decent wood paneling on the inside, likely somebody took it off to use it elsewhere.
@@yowser8780 That's my best guess too -- removed and repurposed somewhere else. Another guess -- walls removed due to water/mold damage or hantavirus mitigation.
Aloha W. H.! At 20:20, thats the smoke pipe for a wood stove thats long gone now. I lived in a cabin with a pretty big fireplace, but was told that if I put a little wood stove there, it would heat the room 10 times better for 1/10th the amount of wood! I'm enjoying your adventures, you should come to the lovely island of Kauai when this is all over & have some fun at the beach!!🌴🌺🌞⛱

I would love for you to go through our home and try to figure out our story. It would be pretty easy but I’d love to hear the story you put together from your findings.
Also, I love that you find beauty in almost everything you find and look at regardless of what it is. Your imagination is the best, you really do give us a vision of what it was like living there. I wish I had half the imagination.

The chain was probably to pull motors. What did they do for water? Are there windmills in the desert? Interesting.
Excellent find. I'm going to say very early 1900's and it may of been a Sears Home package.
The "Spend Jewish New Years..." ad with the year 5736, they are using the Jewish calendar for it, their calendar year runs from September to September, so, if memory serves, 5736 on the Jewish calendar is roughly Sep. 1975 to Sep. 1976 on our calendar.

My opinion...8/22/17 To me, they were very rich people with the house built back around 1930's. Wine makers? Front porch table holding tray of drinks. They were a prosperous family...vegetables grew in the cellar maybe? We grew up in a similar house.
i still have to this day. some PEE CHEE,s form high school. i graduated in 1976. what i find kind of odd. is that this building has not been tagged with spray paint. i hope it never is.

The shell oil barrel is a heating oil tank probably ran the missing stove that the empty chimney ran to. The water tank probably was the water tank bit some one obviously modified it into a chicken coop
The Shell Oil barrel on the back of the house was for fuel oil, basically diesel fuel for oil burning heating stoves. Place looks like it started out as a working ranch, semi successful, with stock pens out back.
that was where the woodburning stove was. it is missing the flue pipe

PS, when you go into these places always try to look for an old newspaper, that makes it more interesting. That definitely tells us, what you’re exploring, and it’s history.
they probably raised chickens and protected them with chicken wire to keep hawks, eagles, foxes and bobcats, cougars away from chickens gave rachaner a chance to shoot them.
Those vent pipes were for Free Standing wood burning stoves....chimney...
The plant with the gourd is a datura. They get big white, lily-like flowers on them. I lived in 29 Palms for a couple years and I saw them all the time.
The sense of adventure is strong with this one....

Looks to have been built in the 40s.
the hole is to put a pipe for a wood-burning stove like a pot belly stove the drum in the back where the bathtub and stuff is that's to put heating oil in for cooking or heating

Where the holes in the wall and the ceiling. That's where a chimney pipe would go and connect to a wood or coal heater. They made the heater's with a flat top for cooking.
That's got to be the best cabin/house you have explored yet... you could almost move back into live in it! Where did they get water from?

September 4th, 1975...god, I'd be so tempted to take that home and frame it. But I know.. never take anything :(
