@@Vivid-__ normally its enough, but if you plan on building tall structure above it, it might lead to structure issue. also, im willing to bet drae's "cold room" is not actually cold anymore now. there's just too many stuff he did wrong with the lay out for the game's current temperature logic
Never played this game, only heard about it through the channel so don't mind my possible stupid question.... instead of attacking the wolves could you keep them around for when you get attacked, would they go after the enemy or no?
hii drae, i actually am playing this game aswell 1: the stability of ground is 4, 1 gap around it is 3 stability and 2 gap wide make it 2 stability, so if you build on top of a 3 stability piece then the next floor is only 2 or 1 stability with those same gaps, what i found myself doing was just using support beams EVERYWHERE they are easy to make and use and help alot with stability :) 2: the tree farm you have is indeed something you can shoot through, however it lowers the accuracy so your archers have less of a chance to actually hit their target through the trees 3: as everyone else is saying in the comments, dont put the cooking stations in the same room as your food storage otherwise your food will still spoil there was something else i wanted to mention, but i cant think of it anymore i just hope this might help and you still can enjoy the game
your hearth puts out a bit of heat when it's working, so your frozen food will slowly spoil because you're cooking other food in the cellar. The smokehouse is an outside workbench, not inside, it should tell you on the tooltips where they work best.
When enemy archers eventually turn up, their first point of contact will be your archer on the extended wall. A better idea is to build your wall and door on the inside of the main wall so your archers are always inside the main wall defenses.
Just FYI, spears and archers can attack through windows, and the weaker doors. If you arrange things correctly, you can get 5 spearmen (2 windows aside, 2 windows angled, one in the doorway) and 3/5 archers shooting from behind per floor, if you have a tower behind. The longer you go the bigger the raids get, eventually 100+ raiders, so being able to chew through them as quickly as you can gets very important
There isnt much more content... he already did the most and he cant also not really expand more. the game gets laggy after 10 ppl. after 15 is a kind of softcap where no new seattlers will join (my assumption, it is set to dont have to many laggs) playing with 15ppl on a little bit bigger base than drae and i got like 40 fps on normale speed with my rtx3080. if i speed it up it goes down to 30 and even lower drops.
@@t3n0n79 I have 16 settlers but took about 25 hours of gameplay to get here. I’m at the point the only thing I can do is grind to upgrade quality of items. Raids are waaaaaay to EZ and trebuchets barely do anything.
It would be great for defense if the devs implement machicolations on the edges of walls. This will let defenders shoot downward at attackers directly against the wall.
My bad if this was sarcasm, but that's already in game. If the puts floors on his walls then he can place the merlons properly and shoot strait down. He could also use the beams properly for his cellar, but he seems determined to use pillars for some reason.
Yayy!! Finally!!! I feel bad because I have been ignoring each video that is not Going Medi, so you would post already 😅 I will go watch what I missed now🥺
Hey Drae... the cooking items add heat. Have them in a seperate room than your cellar. The floors do as well...I usually dig a path on another floor and don't close it off and just keep expanding to improve the temperatures.
I like the idea of extended wall to still be able to shoot the attackers infront of the door, but in the real castles ive seen the gatehouse had ways for archers to shoot down at the attackers like from inside a room on top of the wall, maybe this can work here aswell! But if you read this, I can only thank you for taking your time to read this wall of text :3
Why not build most of your underground stuff away from the main castle, that way if it collapses it doesn't take away anything important above it. Seems a lot less stressful.
Sorry for broken english. Both for enemies with siege weapons and wolwes you can bait them away from the weapons and into your arcer position micromanaging 1 of the characters outside the defenses, 'cause AI prioritize people outside the defenses. And for stability you don't need to build that many column, you just need to build a beam every 3 spaces accross the hole room (If I remember well max lenght for beam is 12 (or 10) blocks, so that's must be the max width of the room), like 3 spaces. beam, 3 spaces, beam, 3 spaces and so on. I did a 5 floor undergrownd base like that and it works, you giust need to escavate in a line of 12 or 10 bloks (see above) and 3 blocks wide at a time, than build a beam, then keep escavating in the same way.
Drae you need to prep for "Master" archers, they can 1-2 shot your archers. And trebuchets can 1 shot any wall that isnt Brick wall/structure (max hit points). So you need to do 3 things: 1) You need to build the BRICK merlons (not wood). You need them everywhere - including the corner pieces. During battle, you can click on the tile of the Merlon, and your archer can stand on it (step off the actual wall), and he can shoot thru it (but Master archers can shoot you too - so dont stand there when Masters attack). 2) For Masters and your archers - build BRICK windows to hide behind and shoot. 3) 6:35 You need to build BRICK floors on the Brick wall before you build the Brick stairs. Because with a Floor built, you can then attach the BRICK merlons (even if you build stairs on top of that flooring). This will help close the gaps because you need to build the Merlons on the front floor where your lady (archer) will stand. But DONT stand there when Master archers attack - hide them behind a BRICK wall window. 4) You shouldnt use the stairs to lower the front part. Just make the front a 2-tier level - then build brick flooring. And surround it all with Merlons + corner pieces. Your archers can walk out there and shoot thru the merlon holes.
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this but separate your cooking room from your cold storage never put those together in one room. Basically what I'm trying to mention is make a whole separate room and have at least two walls in-between the rooms so the heat from the cooking tools don't heat up your Cold storage. And if this games mechanics work the same as another game I've played they will raise the temperatures of a room.
Hey Drea really been enjoying your Going Medieval videos and thought i would let you know im currently playing Going Medieval and the frezzer room' s i make are 9 by 4 with a support beams every 2 of the 9 across (Probaly can do 1 but my hole place is built above it) with a 3 space between each one theres no going off food most of the year round (summer) (i have like 6 rooms for different things) and if you make them too big the room heats up for some reason (i store the alcohol here now)
The best archer tower ive found that isn't cheating is building your door-less tower across your entrance that is connect to your castle via tunnel so that as their attacking your doors your archer's have an unobstructed view of their backs
You can have 3x3 spaces underground then put supports around the edges (I have even managed 4x4 by leaving a pillar in the middle till i put up support poles)

In cold storage?
I'm pretty sure I saw some underground support beams you can use while digging instead of putting pillars everywhere.
Hey Drae. Maybe the problem with the floor is that you need to upgrade from wood to stone for structure support 🤔

Yes. Just wall off the cooking equipment. In the summer, Check the temperature inside that storage room. If too hot, then wall off the equipment.
6:28 U didn't need to build an entire colum. If U let them finish building the wooden beams, the floor will be built with no problems.
