Wish this was a newer video and you were still giving it away, I’m about to have a major reconstructive surgery on my shoulder and that’s off the surgeon can even fix it. Only having one arm is getting in the way of doing my one ton swap. Already had to pay a guy for my motor swap, if my arm wasn’t messed up it wouldn’t be an issue doing all of it myself. Happy jeeping guys from Tennessee ridge TN
I'm building my 99 xj classic for a trip to parks around the country and funds are hard to come by for me. With my larger tiers, Utilizing a hydro assist kit would defiantly provide me peace of mind. Knowing I wont induce added stress on my stock steering components while going across country makes the already momentous endeavor more enjoyable in the end. I simply would love to win this giveaway and save much needed funds for travel costs. Even If I'm already late on this. Thank you for all the knowledge you have given me that has helped me over the past year.
Typical systems have two other components on top of what you described here. A cooler and a larger pump. I'm looking at doing this upgrade but if I need these other components I'll need to save a little more. I'm looking at using the single side assist sck2200 that psc makes. Do I need to add a cooler, larger reservoir, or larger power steering pump to my jeep yj to accommodate this smaller ram assist? Btw your videos are awesome and hilarious!
Nice and clear video, I like your work. I have one question though. I was wondering if the hydro assist replaces the steering damper? Or should you have both?
Love your videos bro! Question: What size axles do I use to run 40” tires on a WJ with a 6.5” IR lift and long arm kit from trail forge??? Or is it better to just re-gear?? Sorry for my ignorance I am a neophyte just a guppy in this shark 🦈 infested world ;). Thanks bro!!! I’m building a WJ rock crawler and see what I can do next year at KOH.
Thanks for the description. Power steering seems enough for a typical truck or van. This hydro assist seems like it's for huge monster trucks pulling huge heavy loads?
I don't think a semi steering box would work very well. It takes more turns to lock it put from each side. Plus it's a bit bigger, you would need some measurements to see if it will even fit or if you can get a pitman arm to work properly.
Hey Matt this is a super old video but I just wanted to ask you, if you could theoretically just put a “T” fitting on the hydraulic hoses that go to your steering gearbox and not have to drill n tap your box? 🤔 big fan love your vidjas
I've been thinking about getting the hydro assist for wheeling purposes however i also daily my rig. Does this affect driving daily, thinking about hwy speed and such???
Hi Matt I am totally interested in having you drill and tap a gear box for my WJ. Let me know if you can do it. I have an extra box and could get it in the mail to you ASAP.
Who fugg’n knew you were an artist… your diagrams are on point…

I agree

Dang!! I missed out huh, lol oh well. Love and respect to the whole Bleepin Jeep family!!
Matt's voice is so soothing lol
Can the bastard 03-06 TJ Mercedes Box be set up for Hydro assist?
( bit old now ) great video man, excellent presentation ,,
Hey Matt, I know this is a old video, but can you give me a link to the kit you was talking about?
So I noticed you didn't explain the pitman arm. Does this mean you delete the pitman arm, you no longer need it, correct ?
Matt. With 35s on my yj. Should i run stock box or durango box with ram assist. You the man bro

magnetic drill bit with grease, you can drill the box
Nice and clear video, I like your work.
I have one question though. I was wondering if the hydro assist replaces the steering damper? Or should you have both?
No need for both
i'm thinking only assist, because it will act as a damper also.
My box has seen better days Matt....its like driving a school bus down the road lol.

What is the turn around for time if i send you my steering box? Also, can you tap JK steering box too or just XJ/TJ?
Thanks for the description. Power steering seems enough for a typical truck or van. This hydro assist seems like it's for huge monster trucks pulling huge heavy loads?
For jeeps with big tires that actually do offroad
At what point should you consider doing a hydro assist? Size tires axles? Does the tie rod need to be reinforced?
somewhere around 35-37" or larger if you are doing serious offroad. You will want aftermarket steering for sure!
hi can you do gear for Land Rover steering as well?
probaly to late but yes its super easy, i did it on mine and set up a custom hydro assist set up
Hey Matt i know this is an older video...but how about us with newer TJ/LJ and the mercedes steering box??? does it tap the same??
it can be tricky... if you want to have us drill and tap email me you year make and model and i'll forward to our guy who does and see what he can do.
So can you eliminate the drag link, when going with full hydro double ended ram?
Yes. And then be non road legal once you do!👍
Can you run this with 1 ton steering?
So once you do this, do you then eliminate the pitman arm and drag link as no longer needed?
On full hydro you can
But that requires a different box, orbital steering, correct?
Curious what nipples do i use on the steering gear? Also where do i get the parts to make the hoses?
1/4" pipe thread-6JIC with 37° flare
dont you need a larger power steering fluid tank to run hydro assist??
Not necessarily, if you have overheating issues then maybe but you can also just extent the cap with a large hose on the top of the reservoir.
Does hydro assist eliminate death wobble?
babykangaroo96 no
Hello I am interested in having this done
cool, check out our website bleepinjeep.com/store and click on the hydro assist
Do you only do jeep steering gear boxes?
+George McCafferty No, we can do a few others as well. just let us know and we can figure it out before you purchase.
+BleepinJeep awesome!!
I have 38 inch tires. And my truck does not handle every well. Should I add hydro assist or get a power steering box from an 18 wheeler?
Get smaller tires
Look for psc hydro assist steering box and steering stabilizer

Can you make a video on how to replace door windows? There is like only 1 video of that on here and it's poorly made.
Hey Matt this is a super old video but I just wanted to ask you, if you could theoretically just put a “T” fitting on the hydraulic hoses that go to your steering gearbox and not have to drill n tap your box? 🤔 big fan love your vidjas
No, it's more complex than that.
BleepinJeep Alright cool. Saved me the headache of trying it
you could, but your not getting the full or right effect that you need.
So, I guess there are times when just the normal power steering isn't good enough?
How much whit the gearbox
Are you open to video suggestions?
Your links in the descriptions dont work.
What's the advantage of doing this verse the std PS ?
its ram assisted. so no matter how crazy the terrain the tire is going to turn with your pinky if you want to...
I've been thinking about getting the hydro assist for wheeling purposes however i also daily my rig. Does this affect driving daily, thinking about hwy speed and such???
Nahh it's not too bad
The link is no longer working for your steering box port tap rebuild and clean.
Hmm I'll look at it thanks... it is on the website though
And the hip bone is connected to the thigh bone.
DO YOU STILL DO THE GEAR BOX? THE LINK ISNT WORKING
No sorry
Hi Matt I am totally interested in having you drill and tap a gear box for my WJ. Let me know if you can do it. I have an extra box and could get it in the mail to you ASAP.
Sure can! Just order through the website and I'll send you mailing instructions.
