In the section where you were talking about the reaction of group 2 metals with water, what happens to the oxygen's oxidation number?
Does it go from 2- to -4 and so is oxidized?

Khamees Elbayouk The oxygen goes from -2 to -2, so there is no change in it's oxygen number :)
