- Howdy! I'm Fiona Moriarty, an Irish pro triathlete based in Bend, Oregon. I live with my husband/videographer Josh Sutton and snack-loving Australian Shepherd Leif.
"Go On Fiona!" is my latest series chronicling my journey to the 2024 Ironman World Championship in Nice, France on September 22.
In EPISODE 5 I recap my race. Long story short, I'm proud to be the top Irish long distance pro and 27th in the world. Watch along as I discuss the chaos of the swim, the carnage of the bike, and holding steady on the run. Each leg had its challenges on a truly epic, World Championship worthy course.

Was cheering you on from the US! Way to go!
Thank you for the great summary, which shows just how epic these things are at the personal level. Good result although the swim experience reminds me of why I let others do triathlon! But I am surprised by some of the Ironman management issues--the fact that the kayaker had different instructions about passing the buoy, the personal needs space was apparently in the wrong place, and, most seriously I think was that you were passed by cars when on the bike--is the road not closed for these events? Anyway, always lessons learned and we admire your positive outlook!
