- WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN" EVEN MEAN?!
Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this UA-cam name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

I don't know if you noticed or not but in the part where they are doing two different choreos the outer circle is dancing to the lyrics and the inner group is dancing to the beat.

Only SVT can do a full group choreo with proper blocking, where no member is hidden away from the audience. And as a 1-yr old carat who has watched all their dance practices, this is extremely satisfying... ❤️

My eyes kept going to Hoshi (black baseball cap for those who don't know the members yet) throughout the whole video. As soon as they started, I was like "that gotta be Hoshi" 😂 His moves are so clean.

you still haven't done a reaction to THANKS!!! It's literally one of their best releases. The dance practice for that song is especially magical as it was filmed in black and white. You have to make that the next Seventeen reaction. Carats help me out with thisone.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate how you pause and explain the parts that stood out for you. I love the "weaving part" because it gives an illusion that Jeonghan is walking past through them when it is both him & the other members that weaves through each other.

I felt the same way you did about the MV, and was shocked so many found it distracting or that it didn’t fit at all.. this song is so damn good, matches the song and lyrics perfectly imho. I see more growth from them. I was happy to hear from Woozi that he didn’t want to be boxed in because that means you can’t grow and with this song (and I guess MV too) reflects that so well. Imho this is absolutely something they wanted to do, the direction they wanted to go and wasn’t influence by something else or forced to do something. I still felt seventeen throughout the entire song and MV personally. I haven’t watched the dance practice yet but I thoroughly enjoy watching you talk about the choreography all the time, since I know nothing 😂! I love “anyone” as well!

I think u noticed The8 (Minghao) re-entering the scene at @14:51 .... He developed leg pain, and the doctor suggested he go easy on activities, but he personally wanted to maximize his participation during this cb.... Hence the exit during that part...

At 12:19 you noticed they were doing different choreography during the second chorus. That's because the outer ring was doing part of the first chorus choreography they did and the second is a new choreography. And I think in the third time they sang the chorus they did another version of the choreography.
