Doubt. IU rushing defense has not really played any top rushing offenses besides OSU (Judkins bottled, Henderson not so much). ND pass defense has faced higher octane pass offenses like Louisville and USC, where the yardage doesn't look great, but they made plays when they had to.
As an IU fan since the early 70s, I can say that without reservation beating ND will be THE most gratifying sports win of my life! ... and why, you ask? ... Because the ND fan base is THE most entitled, arrogant and codependent fan base in sports history ... their brazenly irreverent exploitation of the otherwise exquisite "Word of Life" mural and renaming it as "Touchdown Jesus" constitutes an act of maniacal blasphemy and their misguided belief that there are points to be gained by winning this contrived pre-game narrative is an indication of a collective emotional insecurity that can and probably will pose a danger to the public at large ... These people have no lives and their reaction the day after losing this game is certain to make headlines ... HAVE A NICE DAY!
ND had a bad game against USC. Yes, this season they haven’t played high powered passing offenses. But this is the same coach and many of the same players (DBs are even more talented) that gave Caleb Williams and CJ Stroud their worst games as college QB’s
ND fans can’t control 3rd party sellers.. ND only has issues with season ticket holders bc ND fans are global unlike other fanbases.. being a season ticket holder from Florida as a ND fan is not the same as being a season ticket holder in Indiana..
Indiana skill players don’t line up to USC, Louisville, Texas A&M, or FSU. Then to say the ND’s pass D is against suspect offenses but miss that IU’s rush D doesn’t get addressed is a bit of a miss.
@@rockypinheiro4260Only about the 10th post I've read about how 6-6 USC is better then IU. 5 common opponents..IU 5-0 with avg. differential of 20+ per game, USC 2-3. Lazy posts with no research. I wish Freeman and his staff was half as over confident as ND fans
USC and Louisville both are on par or better than Indiana skill and passing wise. They were challenged vs USC last games. Up 7 late in the 4th quarter before back to back pick sixes and letting USC score in the last minute garbage time.
I believe Rourke has the second or third highest PFF grade of any player in the playoffs (Jeanty is obviously #1). That passing offense is better than you think.
So traveling across the country doesn’t play an affect.. media is hella dumb. Going from NY.. thanksgiving then all the at out to Cali to play USC.. ND was tired.. that’s all that game was go watch the tape. Get your eyes off the box score and watch the film.
How is ND TOP 3 defense? They are ranked 51 in rush!!!! IU is ranked in top 9 in pass, rush, pts allowed, yards allowed. Sure ND is ranked 3 in pass defense but the only other one that they are lower than IU is points. Other than that IU is better not one of you talked about how IU run defense is number 1 and I do believe 9 in pass get out of here. The one game they played that had a qb that could pass aka usc what did they light them up for 350?
As you proved.. stats can easily be manipulated. I think the one thing thats missing here is just raw talent. I watched a few indiana games. The 2 games they struggled were against legit nfl talent. ND is way better than Michigan.. but not quite OSU. That tells me where i think this will go.
This is definitely going to be one hell of a game. To me, these are two evenly teams. It's going to come down to who wants it more. Go Hoosiers ⚪️ 🔴
Go HOOSIERS!!
How do you think this IU rushing defense holds up against this ND rushing offenses?
It will be a challenge. But so will NDs pass defense against IUs pass offense!
@SpeakeasySportsShow Are you concerned that 9/12 rushing offenses IU played were outside the top 90?

@@douglascarlson9006 rare to see a comment calling ND fans not religious enough while using SAT words every sentence, but congrats you did it
A lot of these Hoosier fans sound just like their coach. It’s nice to see IU relevant again, but I see them losing by two scores.
Pull their P4 games only (to eliminate Navy and Army) their passing stats either stay the same or get better.
What about everyone pointing at Indians rushing defense only playing 6 of the bottom 35 rushing offenses?

Pure skill players. Louisville and usc have better top end talent than Indiana.
Without a doubt.. they just aren't as good as "teams"
Is talent the only thing that matters?

Iu defense has 3 all big ten first team...qb just finished 9th in heisman....this team is good on both sides of the ball...will be a close game

ND won’t be kicking any FGs…unspoken X factor
Jon has no idea what he's talking about. Freeman learned nothing from brian kelly. He was his HC for a year.
So simple if Rourke gets 3 seconds ND will lose. IU holds offence IU wins
Math checks out
15 mph winds and upper teens. Passing, especially down field, could be a challenge.
ND 38-20
That would be a HUGE win for the Irish!
USC has better skill players

Yup. We said that exact thing about USC. IU has an underrated defense for sure!
Scoring defense. As for IU’s rush defense, better not look up the ranks of the rushing offenses they’ve faced.
Also IU struggled against the only two teams that played a semblance of defense

Absolutely true. But on any given day…
you say ND is 'way' better than michigan but not osu whom michigan defeated . lol strange take.
