I am Georgian. I absolutely love the fact that someone took the time mix history with my favourite game and make it known to whole AOE fanbase. We Georgians might not be big today in regards to territory and influence but we are fighters TO THE CORE. Saqartvelos Gaumarjos ! ! !
I've had fun with all 3 campaigns, but good lord Tamar and a group of Monaspa just zoom across the map, obliterating everything in their path while she efficiently heals them (albeit one at a time, but at a faster rate too) :D
I feel this campaign is somewhat ruined by the fact that most maps task you with destroying some castles or town centers, and Monaspas are way too good at destroying buildings. So you can just win every scenario by just building Monaspas and charging the objectives, ignoring everything else (including most enemy units; just charge past them) This first scenario is the only one where can't do that, since you start in Feudal and can't build your own castles.
Is it your favorite amongst this DLC campaigns or amongst all? I haven't played this DLC, but from the few Ornlu videos that I've watched it looks underwhelming tbh. Personally, I can't imagine any campaign surpassing the Lithuanian+Pole campaigns.
@@edmis90 Honestly I feel this way lol, dawn of dukes was such a good combination of campaigns, and I don't think AoE will ever hit that high again, but damn do I miss it
It so sounds like "get ur arse"... I've only played this campaign so far and I really liked it. All this campaign needs is the monaspas(who are totally awesome).
This one was hard since most buildings were not immediately available to you, such as the university and I struggled at first against constant assaults from Cumans and Seljuk Raiders as the towers and Fortified Churches were not too strong against the raids. So, I restarted and this time attacked just the Seljuk Raiders and then focused on the Aznuari to gain the university before doing the other side quests and focused on capturing Yury's monument. This time, the Cumans oddly enough left me alone the entire time.
I liked this scenario a lot. It's B&D but not just that. I like the little quests to take over the churches and thereby speed up your growth. The map-design is great, I like it a lot. Even including the black sea. I like you are restricted with no castle and no university, but can obtain it in a sidequest. Actually I wasn't aware I would get a university, but noticed the just defeated Seldjuks had one, so I converted it before attacking the Aznauri. In my case I assume I was rather slow in my build up and Yuri put up quite a fight. Also I hadn't played the Georgians before and liked this scenario as a introduction.
Wanna hear something ironic, later in Tamars rule, she would have monasteries built in Greece and Jerusalem. She also petitioned Salahadin to restore sone important Georgian relics and properties which he agreed. They also had free passage in and out of the holy land. Further, she tried to retain The True Cross but that was refused even offered a fortune in gold. It’s a shame that the Black Death hurt Georgia a century or two later. When Tamar died, it is believed she was asked to be buried in Jerusalem, but no one knows for sure. This connects her to Barbarossa and Saladin.
The scenario was rather easy for me, the Cumans barely attacked and the Turk raids were easy to repel once I got everything situated. Once I got the Monaspas from the nearby castle from mission start everything just fell into my hands. Easy scenario, but a fun one having to start from humble beginnings and then rising up to take on Yuri at the end.
So even though Universities and siege workshop were not available, redemption is. So defeat the seljuks, Convert the university, boom you have ballistics and all. And from the cumans, convert a siege workshop before converting the khan
Do you mean the pregame slides? Cuz those sound fine to me. If you mean ingame dialogue, I agree it's a little quiet, but that audio is tied to the ingame sounds, so I can't increase it without making everything else super loud.
@@OrnLu_AoE I mistakenly thought "Narrator Volume" are for the dialogues, both pre-game and in-game. Sorry about that. Any idea what the Narrator Volume affects by any chance?
Sorry if this has been said in any of the videos (but didn’t catch it). Who are the creators of the new campaigns? Is there somewhere that lists who has created each one?
I played this mission a second time on Moderate difficulty & converted 25 Composite Bowmen from the Brigands to fit them into the first Castle you must repair & the guard tower you need to defend the south Fortified Church. I wonder if it's possible to keep both the Cuman Chief & their castle alive to get 10 free Kipchaks?
Given my slow APM, Georgian is tough for me to play with on RM with all the force drop offs. I try to get first 8 on food but always struggle to get a smooth advance to Feudal.
You can also take one of your boar early at like 7 pop (if you can find it), and still get really smooth 18 pop uptimes. But yeah, both Georgians and Armenians are tough civs for beginners. Once the Monaspa is fixed, I think their already low winrate is going to drop off even more
I'd say it is the opposite, one of the easiest campaings in it's current state. You have a ton of resources on every map to spam towers and castles for defense and Monaspa for offense. Unfortunately, the Monaspa is currently bugged, so it deals way too much damage to Camels or Castles for example, which both come up lot. Once the bug is fixed, I'll definitely replay this, but for now this campaing is way too easy because of the UU.

Their biggest claim to fame is that Stalin was from there.
Those decorative towers could have been a new Fortified Tower design for the Georgians and Armenians
wouldve been nice if the Svan towers tech changed look of the towers
Those towers had a purely defensive purpose, like the bunkers. They had no goal of attacking the enemy.@@kell2859

Tamar's abilities are interesting, reminds me of the AoE III Heroes.
The Georgians, aka the "Monaspa go brrrrr" civ
Their attack value is bugged and deals more than it is displayed, hence why everybody steamrolled the campaign with Monaspas.
Always find the ally idle female villager, really important for the campaign

Why Joan of Arc? Joan of Arc 5 is infamous for being one of the most disliked scenarios due to AI micro with longbows.

The yellow AI is significantly more aggressive if you kill the Cumans. I killed the chief and they sent wave after wave after wave of units at me

So.... Queen Tamar is.....Ornlu's wife? 🤣
In the beginning with little resources and few soldiers this can be a bit tricky, but once you get the Castle you just go Monaspa and win.
Next up we're playing Command and Conquer? 🤔
I have never played command and conquer haha. Just AoE2 content for the foreseeable future :)
Do you plan to play aoe 4 new campaigns? From what I've seen they look similiar to aoe 3 historical battles which seems fun

And easily one of the most challenging campaigns.
