I am old school and miss the old cars. I am not tech savvy and just got a 2021 Jeep Compass. I am at a loss with all these options. All i want to do is to figure out how to get the heat working properly. Radio would be nice, too. But, i would be happy with the heat right now. Thanks!!

Thank you! Greyed out climate settings usually only happen when the vehicle is running in accessory mode and not fully turned on. Few things to try.. 1. Turn the car off, lock the doors then get back in and restart. 2. Soft reset by pressing and holding the power button (volume rocker) and tuning rocker buttons together for 10 seconds 3. Go to Apps --> All and look for the heated steering wheel button and press that If none of those work you'll have to book it in for service. Could be a loose connection, bad module or something else

@@derekrowlands6902 After 3 trips to 2 different dealers, they discovered the computer system was not configured. Likely a mistake after dealer #1 did the cluster panel recall. System configured and ALL systems working! Unfortunately, it took a chat session with Jeep Corporate before my concerns were heard and addressed. Sigh ... so disappointing. At least my NEW car is working like a NEW car again!
Hi Steve, great video. one thing I need to know, when traveling and using the turn by turn direction on GPS how can I also listen to radio or talk on the hands free via bluetooth phone. I understand when voice of GPS is talking to make a turn or whatever it would stop the conversation or stop the music on the radio but when I am using the GPS my music through a device does not work.

Go to Media --> Audio Settings --> Volume Adjustment Bump up the audio for Media/Phone Does the bluetooth audio play when you don't have a map going? And have you tried muting the navigation prompts when you have a route going? It's a little speaker icon on the middle left of the nav screen
There's traffic sign recognition that will either give you a visual alert, chime or nothing - but I don't believe there's a way to set a custom speed limit outside of using the adaptive cruise control system
Hello Steve, I need your help with my jeep 2023. For some reason the screen and dashboard goes on and off when I driving at nights only. I took it to the dealer twice and they couldn’t fix it. They said everything is okay but it’s not obviously.
If it keeps coming on and off it sounds like it could be a wiring or module issue.. Usually if it just turns off you could try to see if it's the light settings (make sure you're in auto mode) but for it to constantly happen.. that's a warranty claim you need to make.

@@CarsWithSteve I agree. We just purchased a 2024 Compass Latitude/LUX. Passenger seat is manual but heated. Dash pods are analog but two seperate pods, tachometer and speedometer. Not like the dash here.
There was a mid cycle update that switched it out to a different look. I'm hoping to get back behind the wheel of a 2024 in the next month or two to re-shoot the updated version

Great vid. Would I be right in assuming that you cannot view the actual map within the digital cluster screen - only little directions? If that’s the case, it would seem it’s quite a dated system in comparison to others :(
Thanks Jonathan! You're right.. it's just the little directions and it only works with factory navigation and not other map applications. I find the entry level models for most manufacturers won't be quite as loaded.. When you jump into the Grand Cherokee you'll find the full digital map
What are the buttons for on the drivers vizor? On trip mileage it has a time ( bottom of three things shown) . Is that the total time driven since the last fill up?

You're welcome! Run would mean it's on but the message shouldn't stay on all the time. Is it a warning light or can you scroll past it using the left steering wheel pad?
When I zoom in and start showcasing the cluster about the 6:00 mark - I show a way to customize certain elements of the screen. One of those options is Range to Empty. Add that option in so that you can see the actual milage left in your tank

If it's the one with the a car that says "OFF" that'll be for the pre-collision assist/forward collision system. If you turn it back on through the uConnect media screen it'll go away. Hey Jógvan! Ah the international Compass 4xe.. how are you enjoying it? You can manually reset it.. it's a weird process though: 1. Without pressing the brake pedal, push the engine START/STOP button and cycle the ignition to the ON/RUN position. So you'd press that button twice without actually starting the ignition 2. Fully press the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times within ten seconds 3. Cycle the ignition to the OFF position

As I expected though the solution you provided me with sadly didn't work. I have tried it before. Check by your left knee. There are some rockers you can use to adjust the brightness of the screen - you want to slide the one on the right up to the brightness you want
It's on of the pre-collision assist systems that's been disabled. Check in the uConnect media screen settings -- > Driver Assistance to see if it's turned on
Manual transmissions and adaptive cruise control tend to not go hand in hand. My guess is Jeep didn't see the benefit in developing the necessary tech based on the projected number of units they'll sell

Informative video. One question I have and did not see in the video is how to change the odometer to miles instead of km. I can do the kph to mph but the odometer does not change to miles. The Trip setting are also in kms and not miles. How do I change that?

Ah the EU version of the Fusion/Taurus. It's going to be a huge change for sure. Plugin hybrids are a great idea.. good fuel economy, better performance and full EV driving. It's the best of both worlds

If you have the parking sensors there will be a button just under the infotainment screen. The icon has a P with some larger brackets next to it and the word OFF on the bottom
I have been tryinng to switch my 2022 Jeep compass from digital speedometer to analog view. I do what you show, which is press+hold the OK button but nothing happens. What am I missing?? I have watched tones of videos and cannot figure it out! Drive me NUTS!
It should switch out when you press and hold OK and are on the Driver Info screen.. If that's not working only thing I can recommend is have a tech look at it next time it's in for service

If yours isn't the fully digital one that would make sense. The Compass has a 3.5" analogue, 7" analogue and then this 10.25" digital. If it's not working in the digital.. I'm as lost as you lol
@@CarsWithSteve I just found out on a Jeep forum that the 2022 models made after mid year no longer have this option, only digital. Mine came off the factory floor in November 2022 so no longer has this option. In case you get this question again. Watching this video just pisses me off. I'm driving one of these as a rental and I shouldn't have to refer to "how to" videos to learn how to use basic things like heat. Car manufacturers are out of control!
To be fair.. heat is pretty straight forward but there are some pretty advanced options available. I find these videos easier to digest than the owner's manual
Also using as a rental. Thank goodness for this video. The rep basically gave us the keys and we were on our own. All we wanted was a simple vehicle until ours was repaired. (Stupid deer!) No such thing I guess.

Ah, that's because the safety systems were disabled. Is the traction control button under your infotainment system turned off?

If they're the three buttons where there are 1, 2 and 3 dots, that's for garage door openers

As far as I know you can't do that in the Compass

Check the rolling switches just to the left of the steering wheel. The one on the right should let you adjust the brightness of the screens!

You can try disconnecting the battery first to see if that forces it to boot.. otherwise it could either be a fuse or a wiring issue

There is no analogue dial option in the UK PHEV 4xe - pressing the OK button for a second does nothing. Also no NAV on digital cluster.

Don't press the brake pedal, then press the start/stop button twice. That'll put you into accessory mode without starting the engine

If you have the parking sensors there will be a button just under the infotainment screen. The icon has a P with some larger brackets next to it and the word OFF on the bottom

I have been tryinng to switch my 2022 Jeep compass from digital speedometer to analog view. I do what you show, which is press+hold the OK button but nothing happens. What am I missing?? I have watched tones of videos and cannot figure it out! Drive me NUTS!
It should switch out when you press and hold OK and are on the Driver Info screen.. If that's not working only thing I can recommend is have a tech look at it next time it's in for service
@@CarsWithSteve Thanks! I am pretty tech savey so I figured it just didnt work but still watched some videos to see if there were some hidden tricks but no, mine only gives one speedometer view which is the analog :(. Thanks
If yours isn't the fully digital one that would make sense. The Compass has a 3.5" analogue, 7" analogue and then this 10.25" digital. If it's not working in the digital.. I'm as lost as you lol
@@CarsWithSteve I just found out on a Jeep forum that the 2022 models made after mid year no longer have this option, only digital. Mine came off the factory floor in November 2022 so no longer has this option. In case you get this question again. Thanks for all your help, your video was very helpful to me, once I got my Jeep I was fully educated :)

Controlla vicino al ginocchio sinistro. Ci sono 2 quadranti a rulli che puoi spostare su e giù. Quello a destra serve per regolare la luminosità

C'è stato un aggiornamento a metà anno del ciclo nel 2022 e credo che la versione europea non abbia le stesse funzionalità del Nord America
It’s a bit frustrating as vehicles in review are always loaded so have a lot of features not on mid range models.
I always try to shoot lower trim levels when they're available. You'd be surprised how challenging it is to come across entry or lower level trims
Watching this video just pisses me off. I'm driving one of these as a rental and I shouldn't have to refer to "how to" videos to learn how to use basic things like heat. Car manufacturers are out of control!
To be fair.. heat is pretty straight forward but there are some pretty advanced options available. I find these videos easier to digest than the owner's manual
Also using as a rental. Thank goodness for this video. The rep basically gave us the keys and we were on our own. All we wanted was a simple vehicle until ours was repaired. (Stupid deer!) No such thing I guess.
