- Point Dread & Talon Fighter is the current toy that ha proven to be the truly end of the line for the Masters of the Universe Origins toys line being sold in stores. Mattel announced at San Diego Comic Con-SDCC last week that they are moving the Origins line being sold on their Mattel Creation Platform. How do you feel, will you continue to collect this line? Sorry for the mispronunciations. Sometimes we all get a little tonged tied when your shooting from the hip. This is why I shoot unscripted, because I let it flow, clearly I should either edit better or reshoot it. I prefer the flow method as to scripted, because scripted sometimes comes across misleading, but that's my opinion. My apologies for upsetting you.
There are 2 unannounced characters on the side of the box and it says right on the bottom left corner of the box - “UNASSEMBLED”… that’s probably why the box rattled.
The line isn't ending. Point Dread isn't even the last vehicle or playset to be released, as Snake Mountain and Night Stalker will be released during the upcoming year.
Night Stalker will be a MC exclusive though.
He means at retail,all future vintage releases will be MC only
Hmm a few inaccuracies here.
Origins is not leaving retail , the theme for 2024 is “the cartoon collection” much like this years Snakemen theme. Only the vintage toy figures are moving to Mattel Creations due to them being 4/5th tier characters. Figures in the Origin scale will continue to be sold at retail as well as the Masterverse line.
Regarding the teases on boxart. There are many character teases on the forthcoming Snake Mountain set which is due on the next few weeks at retail. Also the Moss Man figure which was released at Walmart recently too has character teases. I don’t think it’s over at all.
Good review btw, I’m looking forward to getting this point dread (mostly for the Talon Fighter).
many of us dont consider the cartoon collection to be origins. bcause they simply just are a whole other line. that would be like calling the wwe crossover origins just because you can swap parts

What about the flying beast and character on the other side of the box that isn’t anything we seen yet? That seems like some possibility in the future.
Well, MOTU Origins will continue at the retail, but as the brand-new "Cartoon" subline (or whatever it is going to be called). There are actually still PLENTY of new action figures on the way. Virtually everything we've got so far as MOTU Origins has been retroactively re-dubbed by Mattel as "MOTU Origins - Toy Vintage Collection" and THIS particular subline shall continue being sold on Mattel Creations only.
In case of the upcoming "MOTU Origins - Cartoon Collection", we will basically get everything that has been released on the "Toy Vintage" during the last four years ONCE AGAIN but ALL ANEW (except for characters that never appeared on the TV shows), because Mattel got inspired by the bygone "MOTU Classics" toyline and they will now release all the characters in their '80s cartoon visage but newly in the Origins form, including all the countless characters that have never been produced as a toy before (with the exception of the aforementioned "Classics"), .... provided that the subline will sell well.
I mean, given the overall amount of characters featured in the lore of the MOTU universe, the entire toyline could go on till 2030, if not even beyond.
But then again, it will all strongly depend on sales, of course.
The new toyline are actually new bucks/bodies

That's how the tape on each side is. They were all that way on the shelves at my Walmart. The only variation is with the black paint on the base: the initial run (Amazon) was not applied properly. The second run (Walmart & Target) has the black paint on the stairs only allowing for the top part of the base to blend in with Castle Grayskull when attached to its tower.
I was wondering about that. Mine came from Target and looks fine. Thankfully.

Ive gotten reports that the Walmart in Taylor, Texas has some Mossman from MOTU fans based in Houston.

Can't find masters of the universe figures in Walmart, i just got that one from target plus 3 more figures from msterverse in target

It's TALON fighter. As in, it has talons, because it's a bird. Why do you keep saying it "Tallion" fighter? Like it's Italian or something? Do you think it makes amazing pizza? and it's Zodac, not Zodiac. lol I feel like a huge dick pointing this out, but it's super irritating. Would be like doing a Spider-man toy review and calling him Spid-erman.
We still have a bunch more coming out over the next 2 years. Between Mattel creations and retail we will be seeing a lot. As it should be. You are misinformed on a few things here.

There isn't much left to the vintage line so its not that surprising that the easter eggs are becoming scarce on the artwork. There are 19 vehicles/beasts, 2 small playsets, 2 giants , and 16 figures left from the vintage line which is what is going online only. Assuming Mattel's promise to complete the line only includes the figures, that's not really a lot for retail. That is 2 waves of regular figures and 3 waves of deluxe figures plus Modulock and Multibot.
Is that "Talon Fighter" a new sculpt or just the old one remolded?
Origins at in person retail is NOT ending it's just shifting to the cartoon collection which will include reissues of certain origins toys that dont fit that criteria. But future brand new releases of the origins we're used to will be Creations exclusive

I personally only want to get squeeze, the Skeleton warriors , mini comic mani and the snake armor heman with the snake men and I am done with motu i got the core characters and several of my favorite mattel really screwed up the logistics and the supply sucks is been a nightmare to get this figures vintage, 200x and classics was not like this great review just subscribe

It's difficult enough to find these in the UK as it is. If you do find them online they're silly prices so I gave up collecting them over a year ago

Most all of the characters on the box are the Lords Of Power or Mini Comics versions of the themselves. I don't really find that it be all that remarkable, just odd. As if they planned to release this earlier.
