I wanna know WHO thought it was a good idea to cast Camilla alongside Broadway legends Idina Menzel and Billy Porter. They truly set her up for failure and didn’t bother to use auto tune or any kind of audio programs to fix her voice. It sounds so bad.
I literally had this thought right before seeing this comment. Camilla doesn’t have a bad voice but her voice is way to stylistic and fits the pop genre better. She wasn’t the right person to cast as the lead for a musical. Add in Idina who is one of Broadway’s best and in her area of expertise and your setting Camilla up for failure.
Why does James Corden insist on showing up in nearly EVERY mainstream project now?! The guy CAN be funny, but he doesn't always pick the right materials!
James Corden actually came up with the idea for this movie and produced it too, so it wasn't that he picked this one, it was that he just put himself in it.

coming from someone who has had years of vocal training...you aren't supposed to move your jaw like she does when she does runs. it's actually bad technique lol
I'm not going to lie, I do not like it when movies try to do this thing where the era is a long time ago (Cinderalla, Beauty and the Beast, etc) but then try to have modern music instead of using the style it would normally have. If it's not done well, it gives off school drama club trying to show how well they can sing during a dress rehearsal when only 3/10 of the cast can actually sing.
I wish Hollywood would pick another fairytale or princess story to remake. We already have perfection with Whitney Huston and Brandy's Cinderella (1999), nobody can top that. All the Ed Sheeran music in the world can never beat "Impossible!", or that "Do I love you because you're wonderful or are you wonderful because I love you" song. The costumes are stunning without a heinous amount of glitter and tulle. The love story is better. Cinderella as a character is better. I mean damn, 2021 Cinderella has the quality of a school play and should've stayed that way.
Once, just once, I want an adaptation where the dynamics are flipped, and Cinderella is the awkward out of touch one, and the stepsisters are the beautiful and smart ones. And instead of destroying her dress, the stepmother actually lets her go, so she can completely humiliate herself in front of the prince with her clumsiness and tacky dress. The prince is the complete opposite, but instead of making up for or overlooking her odd quirks, together they make the quirks work for them. Like if she trips while they're dancing, he turns it into an elaborate dance move. That kind of thing. But the twist here is that instead of the night being magical, it's a nightmare because now she's starting to feel everything she was told growing up, about how embarrassing she is, and runs away when she finally can't take it anymore. Instead of using the slipper, the prince requests she show up at the palace for a dance. Why this is genius: all he girls that show up actually dance beautifully, including the stepsisters, so he KNOWS it's not her. Instead of before the ball, the fairy godmother shows up when Cinderella's hiding herself away, to show her a different perspective of the ball. Specifically, what the prince actually thought of her, and how he saw her, klutz and all.
That is good, but I don't agree that removing the missing shoe would be a great idea.It is the most iconic part of the movie and basically the most known fact about Cinderella so removing it wouldn't be that interesting in my opinion
I’m still confused about why they made it completely just ‘im a girl boss I can work for myself’ cause the original Cinderella wasn’t even about having a man to save your life, she saw the ball as an opportunity to escape her abusive family and make a better life for herself and the prince 😭
it just seem so odd to me that Minnie Driver were in 2 Cinderella adaptations that use Someobody To Love. It's like Lucy Punch playing an evil stepsister in every Cinderella adaptation.
According to a reaction by a vocal coach I watch sometimes, there was noticeable auto tune in places and yet they allowed that terrible "am I wrong" run to slip in. Yes sis you are most definitely wrong if you thought that was cute
Cinderella A Twist in Time is so interesting with the whole thing of the prince knowing his true love by the feeling of holding her hand and the magic that hides her step sister and how they’re actually sweet to each other. The way she needs to find him like he tried to find her in the first movie, also my favorite moment where the prince years himself out the window to go after Cinderella😂
I kinda of prefer A twist in time to the original just because it adds so much depth to what we already know and shows different side to the characters, also the funny parts i laughed at as a kid I'll still laugh at as an adult. Its just a solid fun movie
with all these singers and stuff, why couldn’t they have written original songs that expressed the themes and ideas they wanted to portray in the movie????
Cuz songwriting takes time and money. Why write original songs when you can just look at a Top 40s Playlist and get licenses instead regardless of the original context the song was written for?
I ALSO was shocked that they included Somebody to Love in this Cinderella adaptation as if Ella Enchanted didn’t do it first and better!!!!!!!!!! Like come ON.
i LOVE a good run, but tbh that's all camila does in EVERY one of her songs and even now in this movie, she doesn't change it up. she's got a good voice, but she's got no versatility/flexibility when it comes to what she does with her voice.
@@jesusgarcia5197 lol i meant she can at least sing. she doesn’t do it well ALL the time but she can hit a high note and carry a tune but like all singers, she isn’t always perfect.
@@gabby1445 i’m not changing my opinion. i’m not a camila fan, but what i’m saying is she doesn’t have flexibility not that she can’t sing. she has a good enough voice for her to hit a note and sing a song but that doesn’t mean that she’s creative with the way she sings the song. she does do the same things over and over again and that’s what i said. you didn’t have to be rude and reply to a comment if you we’re gonna a be negative because THAT isn’t cute.
It feels like they are trying to make a version of Moulin Rouge, but the costumes and overall production is over the top and elaborate and fast paced. The costumes in the 2015 Cinderella were so pretty.
I laugh that the Cinderella outfits were supposed to convince the audience that she was a talented designer. The costume designer for the movie made every dress but the ones made by Camilla!Cinderella good and hers just look so bad by comparison.
“Should’ve used Lady Marmalade…” “I love this scene, how bright it is, the girls…” “If the whole movie was like this…” Moulin Rouge. The movie you’re looking for is Moulin Rouge, Trin!
Isn't kind of a double standard that a lot of the "updated" versions of fairytales constantly tell women to "don't marry a guy you just met, don't give up your dreams for a guy" which is fine but there are 0 problems with a guy declaring love to a girl he has known for like twenty seconds?
That's because these movies focus on princesses and little girls, so the message is just for them. people always bash cinderella for the things that actually make her story and character compelling and that’s how a shitty movie like this gets made. the 2015 disney cinderella movie was perfect because it understood who cinderella was and her situation and instead of trying to ✨girlboss✨ it. they wrote a compelling story about a girl who’s greatest weapon against her abuse was her kindness and compassion
In a weird way Cinderella kind of reminds me of slum dog millionaire. Both grew up in squalor but their kindness and integrity helped them escape their situation.
This is just what happens when you hire a professional singer with no background in musical theater to be in your musical. She doesn’t really know how to “perform” the songs
I also bothers me that some of the characters were dressed appropriately for the year is supposed to be set in and then there are others dressed in shirts and sneakers (modern like). Other people migth not mind that but for me, when a film is set in a certain year i like when they are accurate with the clothing, manners, etc.
Trim saying she doesn’t remember the second Cinderella but remembers a twist in time is the most relatable thing I’ve ever heard. For years I forgot there was a second one and that the third one was the second one
Better singing, better _songs,_ better costumes, better sets, diverse cast that doesn't feel like some executive said "the kids like diversity, right? that's the hot new meme? get Billy Porter in here for two minutes of screentime"
the thing abt the original cinderella is that it shows cinderella being strong just not in a blatant way. she finds ways to cope with her step mothers abuse by being kind to her animal friends and being resilient and she gets the ending she deserves. its really unnecessary to change cinderella into a girl boss type of character and kinda undermines what makes the original so great.this movie was james cordens idea anyway what did i expect

No idea if her technique is actually alright, but Camila's definitely looks uncomfortable for the long run. But I also get why she does it: vocal runs be hard, yo.
@@haylinicole7358 nahhh… Ariana has terrible jaw tension. It’s actually her biggest weak spot vocally. Beyoncé would be an example of someone who can move her jaw like that without tension. Camila sounds more tense bc there’s tension in other areas of her voice, whereas Ariana only rly has tension in her jaw
@@CleverUsername69420 Yeah, you're probably right. I'm not at all an expert on vocality or anything, I just know what I've been taught and also my own issues with singing, of which tension is one issue.

Yea her voice is way too raspy for this style
@L yea that’s kinda funny lol 😆

YUP!
“I LOVE this scene” * Camila isn’t in said scene*
I want this as a movie now
Why is this so good.. I’ll be waiting the adaptation

Isn't kind of a double standard that a lot of the "updated" versions of fairytales constantly tell women to "don't marry a guy you just met, don't give up your dreams for a guy" which is fine but there are 0 problems with a guy declaring love to a girl he has known for like twenty seconds?
Lovely word- yup
That's because these movies focus on princesses and little girls, so the message is just for them.
