Ok will do next time! I’m gonna get some crc tackle guard to give em a spray, someone recommended it to me and said it works really well! Thanks for watching! Cheers for the suggestion/tip!
@@TobysfishingNoutdoors crc tackle gaurd is ok... ish. it removes water but what is left is obviously salt, dust, dirst and grime. Yes, it removes water but it can't really remove the stuff that harms your gear.
Awesome job Tobby, nice of you to keep Dad feeling good about his fishing :) Love the excitment even when your not catching something, but better luck next time. Congrats on hitting 300 and my favorite fish is Mahi Mahi.
@@LarrysFishing thanks soo much Larry, appreciate that. I generally give dad the first fish, even if that means I don’t catch any! Are the mahi mahi really big? And are they any good eating?
Great to see your channel growing quickly mate, a day later already over 300 yewww I just got back from a fishing trip, so doing a catch up 👍 What size line are you running again? All that matters is you guys had fun and a few fish were caught 🎣 I reckon you are just letting dad out fish you so he enjoys it more hahaha Keep up the awesome work mate
@@bushfishncook2128 haha thanks so much mick, I really appreciate that! Braid was 15lb I’m pretty sure and running 20lb leader (medium rod) and on the heavy rod it was 30lb braid also with 20lb leader. Previous we had 40lb leader in the big rod with a big hook but haven’t hooked any big ones in like a week of nearly straight fishing so downsized hooks and leader! Thanks for watching! EDIT: how’d ya fishing trip go?? There a video tonight!?
Mmmm yum, I also love coral trout! Make sure your subbed so you get the notification “GIVEAWAY ENTRY VIDEO” this will posted when I hit 300!! Cheers for watching!
Go back to basics. One rod, hand held or closely monitored. That way, when you have a runner, you can strike. Also, set your drag to fighting drag. You are fishing with a light drag, presumably to prevent the rod being dragged into the water. So, either leave the bail open or hold the rod. Striking a fish with a light drag will not penetrate its mouth, so you will not have a secure connection.
@@AndrewFishman generally when we get a touch we will hold the rod… my drag was fairly loose as 1 we the fish were huge bites and I thought they would feel the tension of the line if they did a big bite but didn’t actually hook up and also I didn’t want the line to snap… both times the fish were ripping drag for atleast a minute and then POP off they get….. Thanks for watching!
@@TobysfishingNoutdoors Tighten up a little. If you are consistently losing fish, it is likely that. Or you are not striking them hard enough to set the hook, which, again, you cannot do with a light drag.
Broo that sucks that u lost 3 fish 😭, nothing worse than getting out fished by dad 😂, brooo I can’t wait to see who wins the giveaway, I love the content man 🤩 keep it up, your sooo close to 300subs🥳, that suck a big goal, keep it up man I love to see it 🔥🔥🔥
Nah not yet… I thought you couldn’t get monetised until 1K but that’s just a guess 🤷♂️ Thanks for watching! Do you want to be entered for the giveaway or nah? Do you like fishing?? Cheers!
@TobysfishingNoutdoors I do a little bit of fishing In the local creek and sometimes at the beach though I don't think I would use the prize enough! Thanks for asking though hopefully someone who would really benefit from the lures will win.
make sure when u rinse ur reel u mist it rather than drench it and lock the drag to keep the washers dry
