I know you published this some time ago, (2016) but I felt compelled to tell you what a great job you did on the PetSmart Livewell, and your narration was very good, easy to understand your explanation, points and tips. I used to fish from a Pro Angler 14 but I always had to take only what I wanted to fish with for the day, I always left other gear behind because of space. One day as I approached the marina I saw a guy with a 15 foot aluminum boat (Baja Gregor) and I decided to re-plan my fishing platform, after all, the Pro Angler and the aluminum boat were the nearly the same length and I was already trailering the Pro Angler. Long story short, I plan to use your livewell plan for my Gregor, I don't want to go with a cooler like most guys that build a livewell, and I just like the look of the PetSmart container, custom looking, like many things on my boat. I fish in Vegas, specifically, the Colorado River, tight lines bro....
Roy Michael really appreciate the feedback. I can tell you my go to live well is the frabill w the aerator. Very dependable keeps fish alive and around $50 w extra aerators in the $10-20 range. I enjoyed building the pet smart aerator and it worked well but if I remember correctly I had quite a bit of $$ in it. It is larger and will hold bigger baits though. I’m jealous of the PA 14. I look at them online to this day. I’ll check out the Baja. Thanks for the comment and feedback.
Hey Randy. Nothing other than what is on this video. No build list. The video should at least show you everything you need. Honestly I use the frabill aerated bait tank more than the big one I made. It’s a heck of a lot cheaper even at nearly $50.
You're welcome! My recommendation is still to buy the Frabill aerated bait bucket unless you have a need for the larger tank. I ended up using the Frabill with the aerator more than anything else and it kept bait alive perfectly and costs a lot less.
@@JDOffline well i plan on doing alot of fishing in Galveston, but i am also gonna be fishing lakes and rivers between west Texas and Galveston. I will most likely have both setups.
why not just leave the cap off the top overflow? it's not like there is a need to have the water higher than that. 1 cap. it's either on the bottom drain, or it's not.

Hi. Good video, even years after...one question...Frabill aerated bait bucket can work good on saltwater use?
Hey Alex, yes the Frabill works well in saltwater. You go through some pumps so keep an extra one on hand! Hope this helps. JD
Do you have a build video for the larger Bait Tank that you built, or maybe even an items list for the products you used to build it?

Good vid, thanks! It's nice to see the comparison.
Thanks! To this day I still use the Frabill battery powered bait tank hands down.
I had a question how does the hand pump work to get water to the bilge pump ? is it sufficient enough to prime it ?
Yes it works great. Just have to ensure the inlet pipe is deep enough in the water and the primer bulb will pull water to the pump.
@@JDOffline Thank you so much . I am kinda new to kayak fishing and always looking for way to improve my experience.

Mike, I can't disagree with you on that point. Thanks for checking out the video. JD
