I had to laugh when you said "I'm going to waffle a bit" Rob! you don't need to tell us you're going to waffle, because we already know you're gonna be waffling. You wouldn't be you if you didn't. 🤣
Rob, would still like a follow up on the Mercedes, that's why a lot of us watch your channel, even if you sell it, then an update on what was the problem would be good 👍
Come on Rob you need to get a micro switch and get it working but understand you passing it on to someone else to sort out. It would be interesting to here from the new owner if he gets it going and what the issue was/is
Come on Rob, Get involved and fix it! Don’t let it beat you! It’s great content and it’s going to be something silly I bet, usually is. It’s always interesting to see the fault finding process!
we always want to see more from this great channel.rob and chris are just great to watch.as well as learning something about fixing cars.so keep up the good work gents.
A sudden change in the style & class of vehicle you are now working on seems too have created a whole new vibe to your channel. Fingers crossed 2021 really could be your year. The standard of work you produced together far surpasses that of many channels.
Seriously Rob you need to get a new merchandise T-shirt made up "enough of the" and a picture of a waffle. It's becoming your catchphrase, love it. Hope your feeling much better and hows Chris?
Moring, Rob. Sorry to see you give up on this mystery fault; surely Chris would be able to help, and I can't believe he would give up. Don't let it better you, and if you can fi it, keep it till spring, you'll get a better price then in mid-winter !!!!!! Stay Safe everyone, remember that summer will be here soon.
No. Power roofs are something the devil invented on a bad day. Hardly anyone can fix them when either a sensor get out of alignment, or one of the cables is slipping ever so slightly.
Still gonna be a nice car for someone to put time and effort to fix the roof! Hope Rob and Chris and families are keeping well! Stay safe and keep on keeping on!
LOVE THIS CAR!!!! Wish I could afford to add one to my driveway. Great looking car with nice miles. Great to hear you are on the mend too, you can tell you're night quite right as the waffle isn't upto normal Rob standard (love the waffle!!) - Keep safe, keep warm & keep up the great work
Fully understand that you don't want to get involved any further with the roof fault. A lovely looking car for someone with the time, patience and money to find the fault and enjoy the car. Lovely looking range rover sport on your drive, hope you're both enjoying it? Wishing you and your wife speedy recovery!
Huge excitement Rob when you gave the waffle warning. Video paused, rushed to get a cuppa so I could settle down and enjoy Grandmaster Rob Waffle at work.....Superb!! A couple of grand I would have said was about right for the Merc, hope you sell it soon. Cheers, Bob
It's important to match all the part numbers, I had a 06 maza body control module fail no turn signals, the training part numbers defined a security package equipment and had to match the cars equipment. Great flip share.
Bless you Rob you still sound unwell honestly the cars nice and it’s lovely to see you working but all I could think was go get some rest we will all be here when your back to 100 per cent take care
Hey Rob sorry looks like i've started something here with the waffle, Please don't take it the wrong way we all love your presentation mate it's what keeps us coming back.
I liked the CLK, shame you couldn't get the roof sorted, these things can be so complex, just takes a broken switch, bad earth or shorted wires, good content. stay well
Hi Rob, good to see you back in the first team, after a spell on the physio’s bench. It looks a lovely motor, and is obviously a piece of quality kit. I love watching your videos, and last week when you were out of commission I went and looked at all the old videos. ( The coupe de ville looked especially interesting) Great to have you back, but don’t overstretch yourself. Get your health back,...take care.
Glad you're on the mend Rob , crazy times for everyone, I had the use of that exact motor many years ago when on the close protection in London, pretty decent as the guys wife who owned it wasn't allowed to drive it as they had a threat made to them, glad when they got me a range rover , airbags removed lol, so if needed I could play bumper cars, well I almost died of boredom on that job, glad when I got back on the tools ! Proper men's. Work
hi rob before you out it check the wiring looms that rundown the boot lid by the hinges a lot of these merc convertibles had a habit of breaking wires in these looms
Think your correct on moving the Merc on. Came up nice after a bucket of water thrown over it plus a new MOT. Hope you get a days wages out of it Rob. Cant wait to see the next episode of the Land Rover.👍👍
Love you fixing these old motors really interesting shame you couldn't get the roof to open up but as you say a quick flip nothing wrong with that get the cash and move on driveway looking very nice Rob glad your feeling better bud ;)
Another great video Rob. Somebody will have themselves a bargain, still looks a smart motor for the year. put a private plate on it will knock another few years off it.
M8 that’s a shame love to see 500 flying down the road roof down tunes playing but making money is the game so keep it up m8 hope some one will buy it and may be you can do a video let the fans know the out come and what fixed the roof 👍😬🇬🇧🏆☕️
Thoroughly enjoyed a good doze of waffling on a bit in this video. I had completely forgotten about the CLK 500 as a model. It would make for a good economical way into V8 powered ownership. Thank you.
Shame to roof didn’t work Rob bit it was good to see all the workings when you got the roof sequence opened up manually. I hope you’re fully recovered now and back to good health
Great to see you getting back to the rudest of health hope the meme sahib and mum in law is also on the mend what a lovely motor the interior looks stunning , Thanks for an insight that we engineers are not wizards and are not infallible, KTF . London Paul.🇬🇧👍
Love your videos you put so energy to get these cars back on the road. But as you said you need to make a living. Hope the new owner comes back to you and tell you the roof is fixed.
Rob, cracking video!!!! Shame you have sold it, it's a really interesting subject matter (getting the power hood working) - and I'm sure the video series would be popular! If the new buyer keeps you posted on the roof, make sure you tell us all what it was....
Great video. It still could be that part you replaced. I've had faulty 2nd hand parts from breakers before. Those micro switches that is broken is suspect but I get the feeling it's not the overall problem. Good luck to its new owner. 🙂🤞
Yeh Rob I’m really interested in this one I would really like to see it fixed mate, going over me mates garage today to put a SAM unit in his CLK to see if it clears his rear light problems.
Glad you are well. You should have finished the Merc off. It’s great to see these thing through to the end. I know you have to earn a crust, but would have been nice to see it fixed. Stay lucky.
The Trimming Centre in Lewes were really helpful with me when I had a faulty roof mechanism on an astra convertible, shame you're not seeing this one to the very end but as with everything electrical sometimes it needs someone who knows the failure points. For the sakes of a £10 microswitch though it must be worth a try. Hope you're feeling better and thanks again for the content
Shame you didn't get the roof working, would have been good to find out what it was. Awesome car, the 500 is a beast. I own a 2005 CLK320 convertible, lovely car. I agree with previous comments, keep in touch with the new owner to give us an update on what fixed it!
Looking much better Rob, glad to see that. 1st time ever I’ve seen you move on before sorting a car right out. Totally understand though. As always an interesting video. Glad you’re back mate. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏴
15k views in the first hour is great let me watch and get back to you ok, watched, i would have just plugged the module in without taking all the bits apart first but that's me, gutted you couldn't find the fault as i was looking forward to that get well soon as i look forward to the next adventure
I hope the new owner gets it fixed and updates you on the fault , from experience it often as little as a broken wire in the boot hinges or the tonneau cover mech , the wiring is put under allot of flex strain in those areas
I had to laugh when you said "I'm going to waffle a bit" Rob! you don't need to tell us you're going to waffle, because we already know you're gonna be waffling. You wouldn't be you if you didn't. 🤣
and he's back ! honestly mate in the current climate your videos are 10-20 mins of escape. thank you
Appreciate the Recognition 🙏👍
Rob, would still like a follow up on the Mercedes, that's why a lot of us watch your channel, even if you sell it, then an update on what was the problem would be good 👍
Come on Rob you need to get a micro switch and get it working but understand you passing it on to someone else to sort out. It would be interesting to here from the new owner if he gets it going and what the issue was/is
I did wonder why Rob didn't manually open the roof to start with just to check the simple things?
@Blue they are always nice videos and very informative
Come on Rob, Get involved and fix it! Don’t let it beat you! It’s great content and it’s going to be something silly I bet, usually is. It’s always interesting to see the fault finding process!
Rob you are making a big mistake, those cars are like rocking horse droppings. there is 5 on autotrader, very rare, fix it and make some real money
Agreed ! It also has one of Mercedes's most reliable engines, the highly respected M113 which are virtually bulletproof.
Exactly
A 5 litre CLK is a future collectable, to be sure...
we always want to see more from this great channel.rob and chris are just great to watch.as well as learning something about fixing cars.so keep up the good work gents.
A sudden change in the style & class of vehicle you are now working on seems too have created a whole new vibe to your channel.
Fingers crossed 2021 really could be your year. The standard of work you produced together far surpasses that of many channels.
Rob ...cars can be replaced! ...it far more important to see u back healthy again in these terrible times ...always great videos..thx
What a genuine fella rob is ..love this channel rob and Chris .wish all people were like you two.your two are worth your weight in gold .
The CLK is one of the best looking cars on the road, and it's great that you have more videos on the car.
watching the show from Denmark every day...love it ..keep up the good work boys
Seriously Rob you need to get a new merchandise T-shirt made up "enough of the" and a picture of a waffle. It's becoming your catchphrase, love it. Hope your feeling much better and hows Chris?
I’ve suggested this about 3 times in the last 6 months in the comments. Hahaha - they are having none of it! Lol
I would wear that lol
"Salvage Rebuilds UK, waffling on since 2019" should be on the back of a t-shirt.👍
Moring, Rob. Sorry to see you give up on this mystery fault; surely Chris would be able to help, and I can't believe he would give up.
Don't let it better you, and if you can fi it, keep it till spring, you'll get a better price then in mid-winter !!!!!!
Stay Safe everyone, remember that summer will be here soon.
always good videos, always enjoy watching
Great to see you fit and well again Rob
Don't like to see things not getting fixed, i would watch these videos all day long.
Thanks
Anyone else really disappointed Rob didn't fix it?! 😣
No. Power roofs are something the devil invented on a bad day. Hardly anyone can fix them when either a sensor get out of alignment, or one of the cables is slipping ever so slightly.
I am
I don’t think I would have been able to say no to fixing it.
Still gonna be a nice car for someone to put time and effort to fix the roof!
Hope Rob and Chris and families are keeping well! Stay safe and keep on keeping on!
Everyone likes a cheap flip video Rob! Makes it more realistic to us non-garage owners. Thanks for the videos, keep it up 👌
Great work and thanks for the content stay safe and take care
LOVE THIS CAR!!!! Wish I could afford to add one to my driveway. Great looking car with nice miles. Great to hear you are on the mend too, you can tell you're night quite right as the waffle isn't upto normal Rob standard (love the waffle!!) - Keep safe, keep warm & keep up the great work

Great well done for this video you are correct get it moved on minor problem micro switch
Nice to see you back again Rob, hope you are well 👍😎
Huge excitement Rob when you gave the waffle warning. Video paused, rushed to get a cuppa so I could settle down and enjoy Grandmaster Rob Waffle at work.....Superb!!
A couple of grand I would have said was about right for the Merc, hope you sell it soon.
Cheers, Bob
Thankyou again for another crackin vid 👍👍
That’s got my OCD going - I’d have to fix it - had the same with a Peugeot and it was a stretched cable that wasn’t quite pulling a latch - fixed!
Lovely house you have mate love the videos as always keep up the work good to see your feeling better bud
Rob,, shame it wasn't sorted, oh well, stuff happens,,, keep em coming, stay safe all, 👍
It's important to match all the part numbers, I had a 06 maza body control module fail no turn signals, the training part numbers defined a security package equipment and had to match the cars equipment. Great flip share.
Always a joy to watch, another quality vehicle 👍😄
Bless you Rob you still sound unwell honestly the cars nice and it’s lovely to see you working but all I could think was go get some rest we will all be here when your back to 100 per cent take care
Thanks for the content. I look forward to your videos Rob.
Nice little flip there rob! If it does go let us all know if the new owner gets the roof sorted! Anyway ill see you guys in the next one...
Enjoyed this vid thanks Rob. Just watched it again. 👍
Rob you can waffle on all you like! Its just great that you are well enough again to do so! Onwards and upwards!
Hey Rob sorry looks like i've started something here with the waffle, Please don't take it the wrong way we all love your presentation mate it's what keeps us coming back.
Started something?
@@sruk yer sorry The waffle t-shirt lol
Nice video during lockdown still watching the back catalogue of videos the bluepoint socket makes an appearance again 😀 😉👍👍😷👍

Hi Rob - really glad you are back - keep the videos coming - dave
Unlucky rob nice to see you back waiting now for the next one
Hi Rob, good to see you back in the first team, after a spell on the physio’s bench.

Mike, being from Canterbury, I'll bet you have some tales to tell! (couldn't resist) Narragansett Bay.
Enjoyed very much thanks 👍🏴
The drive and the sport looking good 👍🏼
Nice video, love the car, classic in the making. Shame I don’t have space on my driveway.
Nice one Rob, have to say you are looking so much better than you did in the last video, good to have you back, well almost.
Glad you`re on the up Rob, been there myself, not a lot of fun !! Onward & upward 👍👍👍
Check the brass screw in pump body, it’s the pressure relief, sometimes the O ring goes bad,
All checked bud 👍
stay safe all............good to see u bk in 2021 keep it up boys
Love your videos you put so energy to get these cars back on the road. But as you said you need to make a living. Hope the new owner comes back to you and tell you the roof is fixed.
Hi rob as your working from home is Chris doing his own video on the ha viva wishing you a fast return to the yard mate
Rob, cracking video!!!! Shame you have sold it, it's a really interesting subject matter (getting the power hood working) - and I'm sure the video series would be popular! If the new buyer keeps you posted on the roof, make sure you tell us all what it was....
Can't argue with spending that £40. It just needs someone with time, patience, space, and a need or love for a Merc V8 in their life!
It’s a shame it didn’t work but glad to get a sneak peak of your sport in the back ground lovely car great video as always 👍stay safe
Great video. It still could be that part you replaced. I've had faulty 2nd hand parts from breakers before. Those micro switches that is broken is suspect but I get the feeling it's not the overall problem. Good luck to its new owner. 🙂🤞
You're not scared of hard work mate are you, good on you.
That motor is in lovely nick considering its age , will do someone a lovely turn. Pretty frequent trips to the pumps though.
Gutted you didn’t finish this one Rob. But I love the attempt to turn it around in one day. 👍
Waiting for the “we wasn’t going to do a third video.. but... by popular demand..”
Lol
Yeh Rob I’m really interested in this one I would really like to see it fixed mate, going over me mates garage today to put a SAM unit in his CLK to see if it clears his rear light problems.
Well done great effort, had a 350 myself and great car.
Looks like you got a nice pad also bud! Hard work pays off
Who else went on UA-cam to find a fix for rob after the last vid 🙈
Glad you are well. You should have finished the Merc off. It’s great to see these thing through to the end. I know you have to earn a crust, but would have been nice to see it fixed. Stay lucky.
Beautiful car, well done Rob cracking video as always 👍👍

I tried the switch no joy 👍
Miss mine :)

I would have liked to have the roof fixed shame but enjoying the vidio
15k views in the first hour is great
let me watch and get back to you
ok, watched, i would have just plugged the module in without taking all the bits apart first but that's me, gutted you couldn't find the fault as i was looking forward to that
get well soon as i look forward to the next adventure
Nice video again i love watching what you do
Had the same issue on one of these before. Roof doing same. I put it down and up manually and it sprung back into life weirdly enough
I noticed it was mot in November I read years ago not to put roofs down in winter as cables can freeze causing parts to break
Can we have an update on Chris please Rob.
?
Loved the video
Great video as always Rob. Personally, I’d love to see you fix the roof but I understand you have a business to run. 👍🏼
I hope the new owner gets it fixed and updates you on the fault , from experience it often as little as a broken wire in the boot hinges or the tonneau cover mech , the wiring is put under allot of flex strain in those areas
