Qualified immunity destroyed our police departments. Take it away bad cop's would weed themselves out rapidly.

I agree, for one we do not need more tax collectors to raise our insurance rates or plant drugs for an arrest to pad your books. Corruption is rampant in the police force and court system. Don't show me another thin blue line flag. The thin blue line is the line used to divide the people from their rights, and protect the cops from being held responsible for their actions and the crooked DA's from being held responsible for BS charges against people who can not afford to defend themselves against the government.

What if individual officers were responsible for their own insurance policy premiums instead of the department a.k.a. taxpayers then we would know who the bad cops are

@Papaherf88 In theory yes, but the premiums would be more than one could afford. Insurance is a racket, ie homeowners, etc.

There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the police become militerized, then the enemies of the state tend to be the people.

Ehhh no The reason for a military is to defend the rights of the people and the constitution.
They have the same exact same duty just different ways of going about that.
But that was when we still believed in the constitutional Republic which we just don’t anymore

Great empty platitudes, now what are we gonna do about the rise in violent crimes all over the country? A guy in El Salvador had a good solution, but oh no that’s mean to criminals right? What if that guy with tattoos on his face and scalp, high off his mind, with a bloody shirt on is actually innocent? 😮

I live in a County with a Sheriff, two FT patrol deputies and a small jail. Biggest town is 700 people. Here, the Sheriff RELIES on the cooperation of our ordinary citizens. He has to. Woe to anyone who does our Sheriif and Deputies wrong, or thinks we're and easy mark. Lol. Our population is 15% military veterans. Our Sheriff ENCOURAGES all citizens who are capable, to be armed and that includes kids (Missouri has no age minimum for 2A Rights). Everyone here is very polite. Kids walk our country roads here safely, with firearms, as kids always have. We like it that way.

Bad cops often have long disciplinary histories that don’t get resolved until they are caught up in a public outrage scenario. That behavior is tolerated and fostered from the top down. Distrust (not hate) of law enforcement isn’t a knee jerk reaction, but learned behavior after decades of authority abuse.

There’s a definite distrust between the American people and Law enforcement. I’ve struggled with distrust of Law enforcement for years. Because of my mental illness and the serious lack of training, knowledge, and understanding of dealing with situations involving people like me. Keep fighting the Good fight, somebody has too, otherwise evil and those that follow it will inherit the earth. And despite everything I’ve been through and witnessed in this life I still wholeheartedly believe this world and its people are worth saving. People say you’re fighting a losing battle, but you only truly fail when you give up. And my guts telling me that an honorable Man such as yourself won’t be having any parts of that.

What gets me with most cops is besides the power trip and corruption is most don’t even know the laws the laws they are supposed to enforce and the constitution they’re supposed to uphold. They step on both and do whatever they want and make shit up as they go and get away with it because of what they are and most people don’t know their rights and the laws themselves or have the ability to fight it in court

Been commenting as I am listening to your video. Just heard the part where you offer people to "reach out to you." I know there is nothing you can do for my situation. I'm currently dealing with a "red flag" situation based on a word of mouth accusation that is absolutely false. Fortunately for my ex, her son is in law enforcement and as you can imagine they stacked the deck against me and absolutely destroyed my life. Up until this point I was always in support of the "thin blue line". Being from a small town where everybody know everybody, I never even dreamed in a million years this would happen to me because so many people know my character as well as being an Army Vet. I know that there are wife beaters, rapist, drug addicts, homicidal maniacs out there! I am none of which but on the day I was being arrested, I mean "red flagged" I was treated as all of the above. There was no due process involved!

I spent ten years in law enforcement before leaving, so even though it was in state corrections in a maximum security facility rather than as a police officer, it wouldn't make much sense to say I love or hate cops. I will say that I think your one of the bravest people I've seen in uniform to do these videos. Because unless you work in one of the best departments in the country, your fellow officers are going to hate you and quit trusting you for doing this. The prison I worked in, id have been run out by the fellow line staff I worked with, not to mention potentially fired by the brass. Our brass never had our backs. I worked in one of the worst departments in the United States. And if I gave examples, they'd probably still come after me for non disclosure agreements. My wife recently started corrections and is in a great department. I was not brave. I was one of those types of cowards that kept my head down and just ignored mistreatment of line staff who weren't popular with the click or mistreatment of inmates because they were seen as subhuman. The only couple times I got brave and stood up was on a couple occasions when a personal friend would be the victim of racism from the white officers which was rampant. A couple of black officers who were harrassed daily by dozens of white officers were transferred to another prison in a much bigger city a hour away so that they'd be around more people like themselves. This was the departments answer despite knowing they would lose a lot of money in the law suit brought by the EOC. The department just settled for 150k rather than deal with the issue. I will answer the question as to whether I hate cops. I like cops at the ground level. The guys on the streets who know whats what. I dont like the high ranking brass who are too often politicians and don't know the first thing about what your going through, let alone a civilian. I've lived in many different communities in many states. I've lived in places where the police department was a best friend and I'd eat lunch with them once in a while. I've lived in communities where law enforcement was the enemy and just don't call them. But for the most part police officers are people like anyone else and generally good. But I do think your fellow officers and department will have serious issues with you doing these videos. Hope I'm wrong. And if I am, stick with that department.

There's a pretty simple way you Sir could help all of police officers. Do a class on The Constitution and Bill of Rights. Then when they learn this? Hopefully they will interact with the general public? And as an American citizen! I worked in the Denver Police department. I was a electronics technician and Administrative assistant for Auto theft, Check fraud, Computer crimes, and Sex Offender Registration. Most veteran police officers knew the constitution and were a great help. Unfortunately there is no Training for the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I have always tried to help those that Serve and protect! Because I believe in helping others that can't defend or help themselves. Also Thank you for your service as a Soldier and a police officer! I've had police officers stop me for pretty much nothing. I told them exactly what they were doing wrong. Also if I was speeding or something stupid. I took responsibility for my own actions. It's only a suggestion.

In LE you should have higher standards than a regular job. Josh, in my experience with law enforcement you are correct that their are good officers and bad officers.
Unfortunately, the system itself has become so corrupt. Unconstitutional laws are passed regularly. As a LEO, you are told that your job is to enforce laws on the books, and not question the law. While at the same time, most LEO’s also take an oath to the constitution. It’s an Oxymoron. As you cannot both be loyal to your oath, and enforce unconstitutional laws. I’m quite sure your argument would be that eventually illegal laws are corrected by the judiciary. I would counter that corrupt treasonous lawmakers already know their law is unconstitutional. They use the slow wheels of justice to their advantage to advance their agenda, and do as much damage to the citizens of this country as is possible.
Case and point, the concealed carry laws in the state of NY and CA are front and center as shining examples of what lengths these folks will go to to trample the rights of the people of NY. Despite the SCOTUS shooting down their initial law, they already had a backup law which aims to circumvent the SC decision. This law is just as illegal as the first.
There are many examples of this behavior from our federal, state, and local governments.
Law enforcement is just that. State makes a law, they enforce it with large posse and guns.
In light of the last few years, (plandemic) and the trend towards authoritarianism, I would argue that times have changed.
No longer do average Americans view their law enforcement as an ally, or even a group they can turn to in times of need.
I want to be clear, I do personally believe that police help the community in many ways. What has changed is our government. At all levels they despise the people.
It’s your job to do their bidding. And you better not question it.
Honestly, the whole system has been re-defined so that people fear law enforcement. I could type for the next hour the reasons why. But I don’t need to, because other commenters will cover most of those reasons.
In the end, I admire your desire to try and bridge the gap between LEO’s and the public. At the same time, until a MAJOR shift in attitudes occur in government, it’s not going to be received very well.

I hope that you are being sincere. Although from my experience over the last 49 years I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting my safety or liberty in any police officer’s hands even yours. I’ve had cops lie on reports trump up charges in order to force me to plea bargain. Now I haven’t been in trouble for nearly 30 years but every time I am forced to interact with police they always try and violate my rights in one way or another. When my father did volunteer crisis counseling for cops suffering from PTSD in the community we lived in, I was cautioned to stay on cops good side and better yet avoid them whenever possible because they are the most dangerous people you will meet. I asked “not worse than criminals?” He laughed and said at least with criminals they when they do something bad they are worried about getting caught and what might happen to them. With cops on the other hand they know nothing will happen to them and that is what makes them so dangerous. So that is why you have to be careful around police. At 10 years old I took that to hart. Of course those warnings were only reinforced by personal experience. I had a neighbor that was a sheriff deputy when I was young. He would tell stories of abusing civil rights as if it was a badge of honor. Last I checked he is now the sheriff of Del Norte County CA. What we need is “good “ cops going to bad departments and forcing change. If “good “ cops all bunch up together and aren’t meaningfully policing the police, how much different is it than just keeping your head down and riding out that sweet pension?

Police policing the police, i.e. I.A.
We've investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing..
☝️🙄 There's an issue there.. As that happens way too much..
Also, Police Unions are the majority of what's wrong with most departments..

We moved to a County that has no rules when it comes to County .. The State hates dealing with them.. They have not leadership or accountability for their own actiing.. They have a ruinning wild bucnh of drunks .. the Deputies are from the area so they turn their heads to wrong doing.. Even a stolen firearm case that in the report had a suspect but never followed through .. We even heard of a gated township.. Yes Township where money changes hands and dirty can keep running business as usual .. The area is a high crime traffic area by a large body of water that joins ==Canada So here is it a corrupt system right down to the judges/

This guy is trained in propaganda. What he says about his Afghanistan time is true. But keep in mind what he told you. It was their job to win over the population. He is highly trained in psyops. I can appreciate what he is trying to do. But he has to realize that when the thin blue line gets involved, all involved are corrupt. People need to see these oathbreakers removed from that profession. Also he needs to keep in mind people such as me, that have been beaten and laid up in the hospital by corrupt cops will never trust the police again. Another thing is the way the cops approach people. When they pull someone over, they can keep that shit eating I just caught the biggest criminal grin off their faces. They also need to end the training that everyone is a criminal. He seems to get it and could be a good agent of change. I say we give him a chance because the way things are going now demands change. Give him a chance.

See thats the thing with the internet it makes it look like all are bad when its just a few, but enough to get noticed. Same with several issues this nation is facing at the moment. Algorithms force feed this crap to you. I will say though training is a must, quite a few of these officers step over the line by ignorance not stupidity. There is a difference. When I was a kid you was taught to always trust a police officer. But now I consider it a threat to be close to one. I dont want to feel this way and I dont like it. What I see today makes me sad for my country, I feel it shames my service and what i so thought I was standing up for. My friend, I could not have said what you said any better, you was smackin mags and cappin ass. "Scouts Out"

There are good cops and bad ones. I don't know if the police fore has self improvement like we did in the military. Another of people really didn't know there rights and they get taken advantage of. I belive that if the constitution, bill of rights basic laws and what is a legal law and an illegal law is that would start the change. These things need to be taught in school at an early age all the way through school. If you don't know it can be taken away from you and you will be none the wiser

being a constitutional officer is paramount in the profession. you must honor the constitution and honor being a public servant to citizens. In my area the constitution is to be upheld and failure to upheld leads to termination of your position AND you will be reported to have your certification reviewed for removal. I got into the profession to help people and to defend the constitution. I am sadden to see people whom have had bad experiences with law enforcement. What motivated me to pursue the career was due to an experience with a bad cop whom arrested my father without any probable cause. It was all thrown out HOWEVER it has changed my dad and family forever. I am huge on 4th amendment because it is literally my job and seeing videos of law enforcement violating the 4th amendment just absolutely disgusts me. Anyone I deal with I treat them like I would want someone to treat my family member or how I would like to be treated. If you treat the badge as a crown you will not survive this career. You also have to separate the profession from your personal life. Eliminating stress is also essential. I have been exposed to some of the worst sights and smells a person could ever be exposed to. This career can destroy you if you do not manage your stress.

If you’re going to “bridge the gap,” perhaps you should address the unconstitutional gun laws in California. You’re not a cop; you’re a Sheriff's Deputy. We expect more from a Sheriff’s department. The head of the Sheriff’s office is an elected official. You all took an oath to the Constitution-even regular police officers. You talk about “unchecked powers.” That’s funny coming from California. I hope if you see a firearm, you play dumb and act like you didn't see it. We the People have the right to defend ourselves and others, without a stupid permission slip from the government.

This guy is full of sh**. I don’t believe a word he says. Nobody trusts the police any more, and for good reason. If he really believes what he’s saying he should get out because his fellow crooked deputies won’t like this at all. I’ve been there and done that as a cop. I had to leave because my life was being threatened for outing bad cops and deputies. If he wants to help people leave California where whatever you do doesn’t matter since your entire state is corrupt. Cops don’t protect people. They get there after the crime has been committed. This guy is a rookie with only a few years experience. He has a lot to learn from the system. Such a friggin joke. Five years experience is still a rookie in any department. Go back to the
Military and fix the stupid DEI issues there.
