Struff has the style of game that is difficult for Alcaraz in that he is also aggressive and a shot maker plus he has great serve and net game . Alcaraz MUST ALWAYS look to shut him down as soion as possible . He should have won this in two sets and also 6-3 in the 3rd . Great tennis match because of the tension but CARLOS has to remain focussed throughout the match even if he is winning .

Carlos's style is so invitingly open to opponents; seducing them forward, hitting behind them, the whole court is used and thus opens up opponents minds. Veteran players like Struff actually benefit from needing to raise the wholeness of their game to really get a chance to beat Carlos...nowhere was this more evident than in Stuff's performance in this crazy awesome match. I would have loved to have seen the entire match, it‘s fantastic to see Struffi to always know when to go to the net, so unlike most players now (e.g. also Zverev) who stay glued to the baseline even though they could in 90% of the rallies just kill the point if they were just a little bit more Becker/Sampras-oldskool style. I sincerely hope this playing style has a comeback somewhen and saves us from the boring baseline hammering that is so ubiquitous nowadays.

He plays his best tennis ever, but he is not in his prime for tennis. He may be stronger now but agility eecovery rate and explosivness in a man are not at peak at 34...just strenght

it's a shame that struff's gonna drop back down to world number 40 but if he can stay healthy and in this kind of form, he'll easily claw back into the top 30

Yes, easily. And he only has a little over 400 points to defend for the rest of the year. He was injured for a longer period of time last year.
