- Drum and Bass music has changed a lot over the last years and so has its sound. Recreating electronic productions on acoustic instruments presented new challenges for drummers.
This development led to various new ideas and playing styles that have been adapted by many musicians from different genres.

And this was the moment, all the producers sampled a video for new drum loops that recreates sampled drumloops of electronic music on a real drum kit.
Pop will east itself. The prophesy comes true!
Yeah I actually plan to do exactly this, not gonna lie.
@@MrMalthusMusic Welcome to the club ;)
I very much doubt it.
Thought that as soon as I heard the drummer do the amen break
3:40 this really sounds tight. How the hell
they showed you how the hell ;-)
drum tuning!!
it was explained in the video if u watch it
@@huyle2057 i obviously watched it if i made it too 3:40. I'm just surprised that it actually sounds that good
post processing my fren
That last kit setup and playing was so smooth! love it
Agreed. It's fun to listen to too.
That is liquid Drum & Bass drum setup for you
Really enjoyed playing in this video!
Nice! Good job.
you play very good my friend
Man, you killed that! Amazing skills
Why not Pascal's wager
Do you happen to have the samples of the session with the last kit? Super crisp sound and nice playing!
The machines started out imitating us, now we’re imitating the machines.
Musik Fiend deus ex machina
@@MsDeliaStreams that phrase doesnt have anything to do with this.
@@skoomabuffer5665 Pretty sure they are referencing the game series, not the trope.
@@blackie126 oh, sorry then. I thought he was reffering to the actual meaning of deus ex machina
@@skoomabuffer5665 No worry!
That Amen-break was SPOT ON.
as a dnb producer myself i can say your a very good drummer and these beats sound really clean. i bet producers are already sampling this video for a nice new set of breaks.
*Break has entered the chat*
The Amen break is a drum break in the 1969 track "Amen, Brother" by the soul group the Winstons, the B-side of the 1969 single "Color Him Father". The drum break lasts about seven seconds and was performed by Gregory Coleman. You nailed the D&B sound ..👍🏻

That last kit sounds so lit
The missing ingredient here is compression.
We'll let the sampler take care of that 😂
O T T
But why?? The acoustics here is all about the true essence.. This is exactly where dnb music should go.. The more players of the sound, more acoustics, more bands and live sessions...
@@okeemusic THANK you for saying this. Was hoping someone would say so in response before I did.
@@everbornnjackson big ups
I could listen to this kit all day...sounds ridiculously good
that second kit tho
1:04 That is the Amen Break.
Amen Sir!
@@robertgolfetto *Amen, brother
@@SC4RRL3TT yeah, Troy... But, you know, sometimes I'm too lazy to use punctuation...
@@robertgolfetto punctuation didn't have anything to do with it tho
You said "Amen, sir!" when the original phrase was "Amen, brother."
@@SC4RRL3TT ahahahah sorry man! I was just replying to the first guy, not referring to the song's lyrics. My bad for not being clearer :)
I don’t play music at all, but DnB is definitely one of my favorite genres, so this video definitely resonated with me. I love seeing “live” DnB vids and seeing how they achieve the different sounds is cool as hell.
@Jimmy Spendix check out killer hertz live @ beats for love
@Jimmy Spendix Watch "Jungle Drummer Amen Mashup" on UA-cam

@Jimmy Spendix The London Elektricity Big Band. And London Elektricity live at Scala is a timeless set from the mid 2000's or so.
@Jimmy Spendix high contrast
@Jimmy Spendix you should also check out ukf drum and bass on youtube
I just realized how much Drum 'n' Bass influenced my playing and learning of the drums
omg that second dnb beat sounded AMAZING
Holy balls, that small snare with dampener sounded fantastic.
This whole video is fantastic.
A splash cymbal on the snare drum
Артём Дулин YES the acoustic phat clap
Please do not do this with a good cymbal
I just started crying, i love drum and bass and jungle music, many times i tried add something from me on Cajon and now i bought first drum set. It is a phenomena how this kind of music could be well played by the human. Congratulations and honest thank you for your music knowledge, perfect story telling and the lovely music.
last kit sounded sooooo clean
I kinda wanna see how these guys would tackle modern trap music cause this is really impressive
I think polyphia kinda tackled it with their new album
Check out Anders Meinhardt, he’s been doing it for ages
bloomgums oh yeah it was a great album, one of my favorites of the year got me to appreciate pop music again, but I’m just interested to see what crazy stuff they could do here since this is really in depth stuff
Danny Aghdam you mean that shitty rap “music”?
Mike I’d assume the OP was referring to the electronic sub genre of trap, not trap rap
Now I can truly understand the profound complexity and beauty of the Powerpuff Girls main theme! Anyone else?
Lucas Figueroa Surprisingly, the Powerpuff Girls main theme actually uses the Funky Drummer breakbeat.
@@king0elizabeth knew it had to be funky drummer!
@@king0elizabeth That's interesting. Very.
The first time I heard it and realized its proper drum & bass haha... Awesome song actually.
Sick drumming. The setup at the end sounded ridiculously cool
As a massive dnb head, this was maxing to watch
Superb! - i was clubbing in North London and experienced the whole evolution of breakbeat and hardcore into jungle and then drum+bass, - still got my Akai samplers and MPC units too.
~ it would be great to have some loops and one-shots as wav. from these performances, the sound is spot on, and the playing impeccable...
Respect to ALL involved
Shit like this makes me feel confident that I can happily make music till the day I die.
Its like some old school jungle kinda thing sick mate
Jungle is literally based on the Amen break, bro. ;)
Drum and bass was a direct descendant of Jungle, so yes.
That final tuning was amazing and the pattern absolutely sublime.
You guys should start doing and selling sample packs tbh.
3:28 - wow, hands down, a really cool transformation!!!!
The last setup made me smile in public with me headphones on
3:17 if i had to choose one musical loop to listen to for the rest of my life, this would be it
I also play those groves very often. They are so cool
the last drum kit is fire
1:55 This switch was awesome!
1:04 for that legendary Amen break
Every D&B producers are going to be sampling this video now!
I was always searching for this content. Very well articulated insight into the sound of drums and the various feels which can be produced through these hacks and tactics.
Man, drums are the King of Instruments...
rhythmus ist das wichtigste, für mich jedenfalls und Bassface Sascha :D
The book Live Drum & Bass from Hudson Music shows you how to play many classic breaks like this.
That second snare sound is sick.
Awesome. The latest version of the kit sounded so good!
Mom, can we have Zach Hill?
Mom: no, we have Zach Hill at home
We want MC Ride at home
Love the last one. 😊
Beautiful!
Who doesn't love breakbeats?!
Really cool video, it really highlights the possibilities one can do one a drum kit.
And this is only the accoustic part, then you have an whole other world with drum pads, dist pedals with triggers and close mic'ing etc!
I've been playing breaks for years. My signature sound is probably a cranked up Piccollo 14' snare to the max!
That’s such a good idea… Using a batter head for the snare side… Never would’ve thought of that. Overall such a great video!
The drumming is superb !!
The final iteration was on spot electronic! Loved it!
best drum channel ever. been playing for 15 years and you guys are really top notch quality!!
Awesome guys 💓 love DnB and love drums. THANKS 🙌
Smooth and crisp asf!!!!!!!!
you did it so freaking good in the last kit
the sound is amazing. i want to experimentate by my own know. THANKS!
This was really cool! Sounds great. Love the effort. Thanks.
Great stuff here. That last sound profile is fire!
Extremely impressive!
That amen recreation is amazing!
It was a pleasure to hear you playing dnb! Very nice!
Drum and bass is life!
Someone in the scene is about to sample this ... state of mind get to it
This was almost the first comment i read after downloading the audiofile to sample the shit out of it xD
That 10" snare sounds amazing!
These sounds are actually very accurate - respect!
the best 4 minutes of my week, last setup was sickk
True...loved the sound of the snare
This is such a good channel I'm glad to see it grow so fast
last kit was spot on
This is so good!
Very awesome!
great sound!!!!!
This is awesome! Thank you for making this video! 👍
This is sick! Really enjoyed the last bit of the video.
Very interesting deep dive into the technicalities of drum tone here. Thank you for sharing this fantastic information. The kit at the end sounds awesome too btw.
This is awesome! I'd like to see more videos like this!
I love it. Great video!
Savage breaks! Such a nice groove!!
Thanks for this awesome tutorial. 🙂
Very cool video guys! More please
I was hooked as soon as I heard the amen break... then it got better.
great playing my man!
Great video - thanks for this!
Great stuff and sounds! Last one was killer.. Awesome format also, congrats!
OK so when are yall going to make a drumloop pack of you guys playing this so we can start the cycle all over again and just keep looping around? :P
No, seriously, this sounds like butter, the world will objectively become a better place if producers can get their hands on more solos played on that kit.
So cool!
Wow that was great!!
Phenomenal drumming on just a 5-peice set. Amen, brother.
3:16 powerpuff girls first opening
Mauro Garrido normie
Powerpuff Girls is the Funky Drummer, not the Amen break. There is no ride cymbal and the rhythm is actually different.
I really like the emulation of electronic drums you did here. They sound really good
Really tight! Well played.
Wow, just wow.
This is the best video i seen so far in 2020.
Big dnb lover!
that's amazing!
Great video!!! What a refreshing surprise
dang great playing and sounds
Awesome thank you
Wicked. Nicely done.
Great drum sound
I love the video, great job.
Awesome video!!
Thats so cool!
this was fantastic, loved the different tones and micing techniques. love me some good DnB.
Man this was awsome!
excellent tuning playing mixing and production. Congrats
that was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, you really nailed the e-kit tone
Wow! As a electronic music lover, it is really impressive to see and hear this acoustic version! Love it tho!
