Exactly, thank you!! That discussions made me want to rip my brains out. Yes, people might use the terms interchangeably, but it doesn't mean they're the same.
Yes! And apparently townhouses you (whoever owns it) can change the exterior and interior of the unit vs a condo it is only the inside that can be changed. How interesting!

I work with land development and land titles and can clear this up. An apartment is a style of physical building construction, usually 2-3 or more stories as Simply said. A condo is an ownership structure, where one owner owns a share of the building and their individual unit. A condo requires a legal subdivision so that each unit has its own land title (for ownership, mortgage, and insurance purposes). Purpose-built rental apartments are not subdivided into different titles because it's an unnecessary expense. An "apartment style condo" is both an apartment (physical building) and a condo (ownership structure). A condo owner can rent out a unit they bought, or the developer of the building can rent out unsold units as long term "rental apartments" within the corporation. Usually developers only rent them out because they failed to sell them. A "condo" can be any type of development, but it's usually an "apartment style condo" because those buildings need a shared maintenance model. You can also have single detached houses within a condo property; they're less common as you need to pay for all the roads and everything else on the condo's land, but they do exist.
A condo building where some of the owners of individual units rent their unit to someone else is still a condo. The rented units do not magically become apartments. Apartment buildings are where one owner owns the entire building and rents the individual units to people. Or another way of saying it, if one entity owns the entire property and rents individual units, they’re apartments. If individual people own the different units in a multi unit building (whether they live in them or rent them out to someone else), those are condos.

bit late but if you really like the mat but you're a laptop girly and worried about overheating you can buy some furniture/chair leg floor protector stickers and add them to each corner on the bottom of you laptop so you can place it on the mat and it will get airflow, if they seem too thin you can stack the stickers for more height
A condo has additional fees whether you rent or buy. Apartments have just rent, no extra fees for maintenance. A condo is owned by individuals for individual units. An apartment building is owned by a company or an individual and you cannot own an individual unit.

Apparently, Condos are owned by individuals (who may then rent them out) whereas Apartments are owned by property management companies

Yes we tried explaining this on the live chat. Thanks for summing up so succinctly!

does anyone know if these are limited edition?
Anyone know if the mats are safe to use with Acetone?
it's not chemical proof like the nail polish spill mat, it's just like a regular mouse pad surface. in other words, acetone may make the print bleed
