Yeah, their trauma was real to them. Letting them watch daddy shave & perhaps a little at a time - like start with a Go T (?), then just a mustache, then clean shaven would ease the shock.

Awwwe, poor little sweet babies!! You dads need to be ashamed of yourselves. Those little ones were very observant. They knew that something was different. That little one with the blue bibb was crying and holding his little head like his the world was ending.🥹🤤💔
About 30 years ago my brother, who had a moustache since high school, shaved it off one day but didn't say anything. I swear it took me 3 days to finally figure out why he looked so weird to me. Don't know why. Just didn't see it. He grew it back and still has it now.
After reading some comments, i remember that through my hilarity and fun, i also felt some sense of grief from the children. Acknowledging that, the purity of the experiences we observed, and the good heartedness we viewers beheld, the best intentions were on the right path. Perhaps so many examples at once overloaded some folk, yet overall, nice slice of life. Thanks again.
I liked to get spiral perms in the 90's but couldn't during the time I was pregnant. When my son got about 6 months old I went and got a perm. He would not let me pick him up out of the swing when I came home 😂😂😂.
Children become scared when something familiar changes. I remember something similar when I was little, and I was terrified of my mother, and wouldn’t go near her. It was like she was a scary stranger.
They look like you played a dirty trick on them when you take the cloth away and they see a different person. They can't wait to get away. They are scared 😱 you need to do it in front of them so they see what's happening. At least with the babies.
awwww the little one in the tie dye shirt was so sweet. The others, welll... it's unfair how much cuter they look why they cry. This is why it's important to a- let the babies get used to daddy's scent too; b- shave the beard more often, so they see it as a natural occurrence and it doesn't confuse/scare them. I don't know what it is about changing ones features but it does screw one up, even as a grown up. I was an adult when my dad tried a new haircut and decided to buzz it off. He looked like one of those people from the Holocaust movies and I could only look at him when he wore a beanie, cause it actually gave me nightmares. Can I explain why I reacted so badly? Nope. It's not my head, not my hair, he's still my dad, my brain knew all that, but could not compute LOL.
This happened to my mom when I was born, my dad walked into the kitchen not telling her he had just been to the barber....she told me she screamed...❤😊
I have seen videos like this before. And it surprises me how shook the babies get and toddlers. But it is such a common thing. Even though the dads are so soft spoken and sweet. I personally don’t like beards, but the kids definitely don’t agree. Blessings everyone from California ! 👔 And Happy Father’s Day !! Soon !
@@MelB868 That's because you're looking at it with the understanding of an adult or an older child. Liken it to experiencing an earthquake. The core insecurity you would feel. Hopefully you wouldn't have any lasting psychological damage, but some would. Same here, and this is totally unnecessary. What parents think is funny could have a lasting impact.
Our niece used to bawl when my husband walked thru the door. I told him to shave his beard, then come back. It worked. She smiled. She had never seen him hairy until that day.
2nd baby for the win. And he would be black holding his head in his hand like an old grandpa or something, saying "lawd ham bercy cheese us what is we gon do?"
I think it’s cruel to surprise a kid like that when they can’t understand what happened. You should take your child in with you the first time you shave.
As an early childhood major, most kids understand that dads beard isn't cemented to their face and that it can come and go. These kids are the exception. The very strange exception. Except the under 1 yr olds.
@cdivine011 You're trying to use logic, but children don't use logic, they use emotion. They may subconsciously realize that it's hair, however a beard drastically changes a man's appearance. When a child is used to that appearance, removing the beard makes them look so different that it seems alien to them. I've dated girls that hated when I shaved, for instance. They know it's just hair, but the contrast is so stark that it can be disturbing or off-putting to people. Even adults. Many children probably assume without thinking that the beard is just a part of them though, especially if they've never had a haircut themselves.
@@cdivine011And even as an early childhood major, I doubt you've taken a poll or done scientific research to determine what these children intrinsically know about facial hair. 😂
The little one's mind don't know how to process what they see vs what they hear. If mum shaved her head, they would react the same. When I was little, I had never seen my dad without a beard until I was 6. I just didn't recognize him.
I got a haircut & perm when our youngest son was a toddler. I left our boys w/my hubby to get it done. When I got home after appt., our toddler came running to greet me & stopped in his tracks when he saw my hair. He turned around & walked back to his dad. 😂
These babies know something more... Could be the reason why this was written in "Leviticus 19:27 "You shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you disfigure the edges of your beard."
Umm no nothing to do with it men can shave their beard now that was only for them it was to seperate them from the rest of the people forgot what kind of law it was called but no that is not a moral and ethical law and not for today just for the Israelites
Also, we as Believers are not bound by Old Testament law. Jesus died so we could be free of all those laws. Same reason we don't still sacrifice a lamb, observe Sabbath, etc. Deuteronomy also says, "a woman should not wear anything pertaining to a man." So I guess we need to throw away our shorts and pants right? No. Again, those laws no longer apply to us.
