    Rachel I have the Castle Arts Soft Touch 120 set. I have had the set for a few years and don't use them a lot. On a number of the pencils the names and numbers have nearly rubbed off. I wrote to Castle Arts and they said to put tape over the names and numbers and they will let their production team know.

    I have the castle arts metallic pencils. Ordered the 72 set as some of the prismas I using up are in it so thought good time to try them & compare the two. Also wanted to say thank you. Watching you do a swatch video reminded me I have some pens & such to add to my swatches.

    Excellent review! Such a nice indepth video is so valuable when you want to spend wisely! The Chrome green instantly reminded me of an old Crayola forest green! Some really beautiful colors in this set! It's so hard not to get FOMO! Lol 💕

    The Golds were my go-to's for a long time, until I started watching tutorials, then I'd use whatever the colorist was using if I had them. Now I just carry on with whatever set is on the table, and depending on the tutorial I'm watching atm...usually yours lol. I love the mint greens, viridian, coral deep and red ochre and vermilion. The only thing that didn't come in the tin were the sketchbooks.

      @RachelHendersonColouring  6 місяців тому +1

      thank you, I wonder if the tin is cheaper as it doesn't have the books?

    • @CynthiaBerry713

      @@RachelHendersonColouring Yes, the tins are usually a bit cheaper than the nice zippered cases. If CA would add that butterfly book along with the sketch books, I'd seriously think about getting the 120 set of soft touch!

      @@CynthiaBerry713 I actually prefer the tins!!

      @@RachelHendersonColouring I did too, at first, but now I'm finding that I don't mind either one. My prismas are in a case, since I threw away the cardboard box they came in lol and while I still have the CA Gold tin, those pencils I keep in 4 cups on a side table. My new polys are still in their tin, and I don't plan on changing that. A few sets are in cases but I kept the tins. My 150 Crayolas are in a case, since they came in that awful cardboard box, same with my 100 ct. Faber-Castell Black Editions. The Artezas that came in that round tube went into a canvas roll up, only cuz I wanted to try one out. And I actually have some old Crazy Art pencils, that are my grandson's, in an old plastic school pencil box lol! No consistency here haha!

      @@CynthiaBerry713 lol, I have some cases too, for things like Arrtx and Staedtler that came in cardboard boxes. I do still have my Arteza Premium in their tube though, not sure why as it annoys me lol Although some are now really tiny!

    Going to be honest…I never thought CA would become my go to faves. The 1st production was horrible pencils. I gave them away. Long time later I gave the 2nd Edition a second chance. Some pencils were duplicated. CA sent another set. Then I got the Metallic and Pastel. Then the Golds and Watercolours. There are differences in texture and feel between the sets but I use them all together.❤

      I do have other pencils I prefer, but value for money wise, they do stand up well.

    Hi Rachel beautiful pencils I have the 120 soft touch in a case they are beautiful.. I really wanted to get the 120 set gold for my birthday but hear in Australia I can’t understand why the price is $172.00 for budget pencils.. I can’t order from their website. It’s cheaper for me to buy artist grade pencils.. castle arts maybe might have to branch out into Australia so us Aussie colourists can buy.. thank you lovely for showing the charts I’m loving the colours.. thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx

      They are a mid range price I would say, rather than a budget pencil price. Castle Arts always seem quite expensive, but they often have sales and so it is worth waiting for those as prices can be reduced a lot.

    Very interesting video thanks Rachel. If you have not completed the swatches for your kofi shop, would it be possible for you to do it on camera? It would be so helpful to be able to clearly see the color differences between the gold and soft touch lines. Hope ur having a very nice day.

    Thanks Rachel. Are the colours the same as in the 120 set Castle Arts soft touch?

    • @RachelHendersonColouring
      @RachelHendersonColouring  6 місяців тому +3

      No they are not, there are some that are different names and even those with the same pencil colour names are not always the same colour when swatched. I made a comparison chart here - ko-fi.com/s/ba50907af2

    Thank you for this review. At the moment they have a sale on. The 120 tin set is now £44.99 as opposed to £89.99. I think they are £5 more expensive in a case. X
