I'm 35 and it only last year things turned around for me. I do believe it all in the mind and how you view life. Stop looking around for someone to save you or get you out of the rut. Take ownership for the choices you made and move forward.

I’m 29 and not in a good place. Like I tumbled backwards and I’m the opposite of what I thought I’d be. But now I’m seeing it as a do-over. I have a lot of experience and now I can start over with all this experience. Btw, I’m still looking for work I love. I’ve been working my ass off to figure it out since I was 21. I won’t give up.

I'm in the exact same situation. I thought I've lost the past decade and I realised that because of it know I know who I truly am and what I want from life, so now I can start living and building it. I would have like to know it a decade sooner though, but it was just not possible without this experience.

I'm 21, soon to be 22. I wish i knew before i was 20, that acting self-destructively and abusing drugs, does not bring you true friends. Those party friends are only there 'till you are willing to behaive insane, when you choose to act right and build yourself up, NONE of them will be there for you.

28 year old here, I pursued my dream to become a yoga teacher from age 22-25 but got inflammatory bowel disease and had to stop. Now I work as an accounts assistant and hate the work itself, but the pay is nice. After I got my stress under control, the IBD stopped and I'm getting back to yoga teacher training. I hope to teach for the rest of my life after I qualify, and to use my accounting background to my advantage in terms of running a yoga studio (i.e. small business). I'm not even sure if I'm willing to make the sacrifices necessary though. I've trained before, I know what it takes, I love it... but it's SO physically demanding! And doesn't pay much. I think given I have to spend the rest of my life doing it though, because I love it, it will be worth it!

The funny ultimate realization is though, among many I've made, the gap between 29 and 30 is arbitrary to an extremely benign extent. It's all perception. We can figure our lives out at 32, 28, 25, it makes a little difference besides wasted time, failure is normal and acceptable, and by worrying it just makes it worse.

20s can be the best time of your life, when you’re following the advise: trying to be a better person each DAY, so that each year you can get closer to what you want out of life, planning your day ahead and being reliable to yourself just like you are to others. it all starts to make more sense once you realize your biggest value is your time. and what better time than when you’re in your 20s with not too many commitments, the highest energy levels and with curiosity in your mind.
I’m 24 and I’m sad some of my friends don’t realize this.

This was great!!.. I'm 33 and my life has gotten better since last year.. I'm not yet financially free but I have grown exponentially in my mindset .. after I got out of college I felt like my life was spiraling downwards because it was "not fun" anymore.. and I didn't even had that much fun in college(I think it was all placebo effect).. but I've come to realize that I'm happier now specially because of the confidence and security I feel in me which I didn't have in my 20s...I read a lot and watch UA-cam channels like yours and it has all made drastic changes in my lifestyle .. thank you

Hey fellows, I'm 24 now, and I wish I knew that I deserve to be respected and loved, so I wouldn't have suffered from rejection when I was a teenager, or even I wouldn't have tried to adapt myself in order to please other people. Only this year I'm learning with my own mistakes and figuring out how to get out of this emotional hell... And this UA-cam channel has helped me a lot, because now I'm aware of the signals of depression, and I also know how to deal with my questions, and problems without being so anxious and stubborn.

I’m 22 and the biggest lesson I wish I knew (and I am still trying to do) is to understand yourself. Obviously I’d like to say “to believe in yourself” or “to be confident in your choices”, but to be honest, I struggle with that. But I think making time to truly know yourself inside and out (listening to your intuition 😏) is what leads to that conviction. And when you have that, well, I think you’d make one unstoppable human being.

More than 40 here - I am continually discovering more things about who I am. Your words are good ... wish I had heard something like this when I was younger! But what I have found - don’t ever stop learning & seeking; the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know .... and, remember to always be where your feet are. I will also add, that much good can come when your plans don’t work out, when life derails. I have found that people I most admire are ones that have come thru great storms and know what it is to struggle.

Things are so different than when I went to college. One of the main things we went to college for was our MRS. degree. ( Most married by 22, first child be 24 , 2nd child by 26) It was a big thing to make sure to have kids before you are 30. When I went to college in the eighties, it was assumed everyone would get married and have kids right after. It is great people from this generation do not feel as much pressure to do that.

    • @raph009
      @raph009 6 років тому +2

We're not necessarily expected to get married and have kids, but we're still expected to get a steady job by 22, a 6-figure salary by 24, a house and a car by 26. Some of us still get pressure from our parents to have kids by 30 as well and this is mostly why most of us burn out in our 20s, feel like a huge disappointment to the world or are just plain lost with our lives. Things change but remain the same.

    • @CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom
      @CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom 6 років тому

Yes, I think you are right. Your pressures are so different. Also, when I went to college, it cost so much less. I graduated from University of WI, and It cost around $5000 a year. They also did not place such a big deal on the SAT and ACT.I have a daughter who is 20 and she is changing what she wants to do. I told her to take her time. I am thrilled we have such a great relationship.

I'm 26 with Asperger's struggling to juggle understanding health insurance and what I have missed growing up. But this helped a good bit. I've been living with the expectation that if it's not the way my parents taught me (with the things they have) it's wrong and things that society dictates to be what you have to do is how it has to be done. But today I break that mirror. No longer will I be bound by the thought of everything I try or do is wrong. I am able to be happy I'm able to have meaningful relationships romantic and platonic.

I'm almost 33 years old and it took me all my twenties to discover why I was getting always wrong men and awful relationships. Now I am with a wonderful man, but the relationship works because I'm starting to love myself more than anyone on the earth.
It took me all my twenties to undestand what I want to do to earn money, and magically it has been 3 years that I'm doing a job I Iike but I'm under a boss. I want to make it by my own, but it takes time to figure it out. I will do it.
Everything more clear from my early thirties.. is it just a case? I don't think so. You need experience to understand what you need. It's a growing process. Each year is getting better and better because I started being less though with myself, I accept more my mistakes. Am I perfect? Am I all I want to be? Do I know completely who I want to be? No, none of that, but I'm still asking everyday. I'm becoming the best version of me every single day.

Yound adults feel so much pressure because if you don't follow the norms of having a good job, kids, wife, or marriage then your life is considered a failure. People don't realize that you don't have to follow this path and it doesn't automatically happen either.

I'm 22 and for me, as long as I'm following my calendar, tracking my habits, achieving weekly and monthly goals etc I know that I'm "living the dream" because we all set a future vision for ourselves, eagerly wanting to get there and finally feel "successful" but in reality true success lies in the day to day journey. The moment you create a map and start following it, you already start living the dream, the life on your terms regardless of how painful life is right now. So basically what I'm trying to say is that the moment I get "order" in my life, is the moment I truly feel I'm living the best life ever, I don't care about what life should be in my 30s or 40s, I just wanna do cool stuff, set yearly-monthly goals, solve problems in my life and smell the roses while I'm on my journey living the best life ever (life on my terms) :)

Even though I am still confused about what next, I know I have lived my life to the fullest and lived every opportunity. I have realized that as long as you are doing what you love and focussing on being a better person, everything will eventually work out fine.

bondziotek My recommendation is to start working out...then you will start to get momentum...after a month of working out 5-6 days a week try to make a morning routine that fits your lifestyle...and continue watching such videos but do not waste all your day on them,do things instead that will motivate you...hope you find the right path to follow by considering my recommendations and i will be happy to see a response from you in that same comment from you at about 5-6 months to get me updated and thank me,because i was in the same position as you a couple of years ago.

I haven't got notification of your response, that's why my answer is so late.
I have been "working out" for around a month almost every day. I made a homemade gym that consists of the pull-up bar, 2 chairs, table and place where I can do dips. Recently I started jumping rope every day for 1 minute 5 times with 1-minute rest. My workout consists of rope jumping, pushups, pull-ups, dips and some ab exercises. If I don't feel like working out I just sit there and watch some videos so I can get into a habit of going there at 8 pm. When school starts I may start going there right after school and start my morning routine. Thanks for your response im definitly gonna ubdate you in 6 months.

Today the only thing I'd like to know was this!! that time is a state of mind, it depends on us, because there are people who do things before and destroy them before! others prefer to wait and never destroy what they've done!!! 😘 lots of love!!! let me know how could I help you to reach your goals! this video made my journey today and also the one that will be tomorrow!!! Good night!!! thank's a lot!!! 🙏

I'm thirty two and I wish I knew in high school and college that flexibility was more important than looking, I think "swole" is the current slang? Seriously, being able to touch your toes is so much more important to overall quality of life than squatting a 250lbs barbell.

Also i'm really obsessed with love and finding that affection from girls but know it doesn't make you happy. It's like everyday is a fight and trough that health i lost all my friends because they don't can relate and understand it.

28 here. What's fascinating about my theme for today is '30'. Just watched another youtube video earlier about #adulting and just started watching a series called 'Single at 30', these synchronicity though. haha.
At this point I cannot say that I have my life figured out, but hey I know for a fact that we are moving on the right direction! Tomorrow, I'll be enrolling into a Japanese class, I don't know what's my future gonna be, but it's something I wanted to do for a while now. Just gotta start at something! And you'll find what you're looking for!
As to your question Alex. I made a promise to myself to continue growing when I reached at the age of 30! (that's 2 years from now!). Now that I made sure that I started something, I wish to continue on that flow. This year I learned alot of cooking and taking care of my health (means healthy diet) and taking care of my family, what's next gonna be is find a real partner, lol like most introvert suffers. We can do this!

With the way things have gone with my friends and I with jobs . We came to the conclusion that we should have tried to get into state jobs right out of school. I don’t want to say this is the right path everyone but my friends and I thought we would be better off considering what we had in private industry.

I have had some amazing times and some ups and downs. I am excited that the best times are yet to come and they will come by my design. At 35 I was a lump of turd waiting for everyone to take care of me. A mother of four, entitled in a failing marriage and it was everyone but me. Now I am 46 I have made great money and lost it made more, been a great role model to my kids about choosing a different path if you want a different result and even just this week switched jobs because the things I could control were too limited at my last position. The only constant is change and being flexible has been the key. Right now I’m recovering my mind set after spending nine months bathing in toxic behaviors around me that I let in. So, I have picked myself up and said I knew better, at least I recognized it in less than a year. I will finish the 40s strong and make the 50s my b-word!!!

I'm 25 and i'd wish i knew that not all the stuff that other people have or do, like being in relationship or doing something (like going in law school), it doesn't mean that you have to have it too in the same time as they, even if you are not ready for it. Also i wish i knew that "normal" is veeeery wide and abstract word and that "normality" is individual for every separate human being.

I never had a desire to travel until 2009 (18y) . It became my 1# passion Back then I was still in High School and only traveled locally around my country. Being young and no money I made a plan to move somewhere to western countries, because I tought it will be easier for me to travel around the world. 2014 I moved to Ireland expecting that I will start to travel more often but 4 years later and 26y on my back got stuck with job that I don't like, bills and expensvie rent with minimum traveling and depressed . Anybody has advice on that I would appreciate a lot!. Thank you :)

As for when I was 20, I wish I knew that I wasn't always right about everything, other people will be nice if you're nice to them, you don't have to hide or pretend to be something you're not to impress people... just be you, and talk about what you like with passion, giving examples and telling stories about it... and people will find you interesting enough! Not everyone, but some will =)
