When doing it by hand it's actually a lot easier to use a hole saw and then just cut out the centers with a jigsaw that way you don't have to make the curve with the jigsaw and you have a perfectly round end that you don't have to shape out
i love that the un-painted wood gives it an "if you know, you know" kinda look so itt's Star Wats inspired without being in your face about it, also overall pretty cool mix of form & function
This is such a cool idea for a functional design that brings the pop culture aesthetic. I really like this one, but that's really no different from other projects you guys make!
That was so cool. Loved how that ended up looking at the end. Good call on leaving the inside panels the color of wood. Makes that whole thing feel warm and cool with the white on the outside.
Can confirm that there fusion 360 course is awesome! It helped me out a bunch when I was first starting out and they went over so many different useful tools and tricks I didn’t even know about. Also very cool project, I really love when something from a movie can be rebuilt and also serve as a useful function!
That was super cool and thanks for showing the non-CNC way (as I don't have one) myself and my library only has a little one. I totally want to do this for my closet door.
That turned out looking terrific Bob & Crew! So glad that you decided to go with the natural wood look for those cover panels! Well done! I also think that you guys should install a soda fountain & popcorn maker in that room! 👍👍😉😉
This was cool. I really liked the smoked affect in the payoff shots at the end! Hmm, maybe you need a prop display for all the old projects? Or maybe a mini library for inspiration? Or a everyone builds their own lightsaber day/video?
Very very nice job there Bob. The wood grain finish looks great. I bet people in the rest of the building will want something like it once they see it.
Fusion 360 is great, currently using it myself to help design a new L shaped desk for my "home office" space. Comes in really handy to make larger models and even just basic shapes to represent different objects.
as an engineer who uses CAD tools all day everyday, I can vouch that Fusion 360 is perfect for makers. it's got everything you need without overwhelming you. I used it a couple weekends ago to design a coffee table and see how it would look in my space. the added bonus is a lot of the UI is similar to other AutoDesk software so if you have those skills, it translates well.
My 6yo daughter and I watch every video together, her build suggestion is ‘a swinging chair with a built in desk because when I have to do class work I have a hard time because I always have to be moving’ 😂 thanks for making such great content I can share with my kiddo and we can both learn from!
First of all, those are gorgeous, and your cinematography for the reveal was just breathtaking!! And such a sophisticated take on a well-aged concept! I'm gonna push to the slightly extreme on this, but maybe you could try your hand at making some arcade racing games so you can go one on one in Mario Kart or something. Full on adjustable seat, pedals, shifter, wheel with feedback and speakers in the headrest. I'd be willing to bet you'd make it more awesome than I could imagine.
awesome project! you guys never fail to amaze. i also appreciate that you found a use for the off-cuts! (i hate feeling wasteful when i make something)
Air hockey table would be awesome and you could do that with a CNC and some other basic stuff and it would make a cool video as well as a nice hall game :D
I think is is the coolest screen thins ever! So nice and Star Wars inspired. It is great and could be in any room! This is something that just looks like great modern design. It is also great seeing Josh in a video!
Make a massive topographical map of the world you play D&D in and hang it on the wall. Bonus feature is that it needs a way to show point of interests, city names, where the character group is etc.
I think you guys need a gigantic lego wall. We had one in one of my old offices and it was fun to build on or leave messages for people. Also, I love the idea here with the sliding room divider. Super cool
That's cool... you should model up and make the lounge area from the Millenium Falcon next, complete with a Halo-chess table. Seems like it would fit in nicely with the rest of the room...
Love the look. You could put plywood backing above the ceiling tile, secured to the t-bar and blind screw your header in place from above rather than fasten to your aluminum window. This could eliminate the exposed horizontal top support.
I don't know if you guys have an icebox or drink station in this area, but I think drinks and snacks go well with gaming. Maybe you guys can design something to take care of the drink snack storage.
This is a great project and I appreciate the how to do it with out a CNC since I don't have one. I hope a future project you might do for the office is an outdoor building sign or even cool window decal. Or even a hidden window decal, kind of like the Hydra/Shield symbols on the SUV project.
Love these, really like the sliding part. I have been thinking of Star Wars light boxes, but I like the sliding shade idea better… for your next project I would suggest…Skeeball, specifically a skeeball game with lights and auto scoring. (Obviously Star Wars themed) This is a project I have wanted to do, but I don’t have the space to put the game when completed. Keep up the good work
This is so cool. I'd totally like to do this for a smaller area... different shapes maybe. Real cool idea. I hadn't ever seen something like this before.
Cool project. If you have an alley there, you could motorize your building's rear wall to crush all the trash in the alley against the back wall of the other building. It would be very SW inspired, and also keep all the crap and trash away from your building.
Very nice job Bob and the Team. This turned out very well there. Hopefully it works out very well there for many years to come. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work Bob and team. Keep Making. God Bless.
Super cool project. Would be interested to see what the dividers looks like from the outside to. White with wood seen through cutouts must look cool and unique from outside.
Check out the Fusion 360 online course: www.fusion360formakers.com use the code MAKECOOLSTUFF10 to get 10% off.
watch all your stuff man, you've come a long way. would love to see you tackle some plantation shutters some time.
I'm glad you kept the wood look. Makes it much more sophisticated!
It was Meighan's original idea. And it was a good one.
@@Iliketomakestuff And it looks soooo good up against the brick.
When doing it by hand it's actually a lot easier to use a hole saw and then just cut out the centers with a jigsaw that way you don't have to make the curve with the jigsaw and you have a perfectly round end that you don't have to shape out
was thinking flash cut router and a template. thats the thing about carpentry, many ways to get the same result
congrats for the glamour shots at the end, beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
i love that the un-painted wood gives it an "if you know, you know" kinda look so itt's Star Wats inspired without being in your face about it, also overall pretty cool mix of form & function
Thanks, it works great and I love walking into that room.
God that saying if you know you know is fucken unbearable
@@Kyharra you saw the Memes didn't you?
Love how you used the scraps for temporary bracing, parts of the wheel assembly, etc. I love when I can get the most out of my wood purchase.
This is such a cool idea for a functional design that brings the pop culture aesthetic. I really like this one, but that's really no different from other projects you guys make!
Thank you so much!
Some Aurebesh "Neon" signs like you might find on Nar Shaddaa or Coruscant might make for some cool CNC wall art!
Liked this video berfore even watching it. I've been thinking about doing something like this! Cool.
Creepy Josh accurately portraying all the lookie-loos during the intro. Nice!
I know, right?
That was so cool. Loved how that ended up looking at the end. Good call on leaving the inside panels the color of wood. Makes that whole thing feel warm and cool with the white on the outside.
Glad you liked it!
For other projects you could do in a space theme, a starlight ceiling may be cool (though it may also be tacky)
That's a cool idea. Much easier with our drop ceiling too
@@Iliketomakestuff Yes, will make it a lot easier with a dropped ceiling. Probably easiest to do with fibre optics I'd guess?
This is so cool!
Thanks!

Also very cool project, I really love when something from a movie can be rebuilt and also serve as a useful function!
Thanks for sharing!
Love how it turned modernized the look of the room.
Just in the intro of the video.
I love how the light on the floor was even diffused/dimmed when you had your digital concept up.
Anthony did a fantastic job with the graphics.
I liked it even before I’ve watched it. Such a great idea.
Yay! Thank you!
Holy cow, that looks great!
Thanks!
The ILTMS galactic headquarters is looking very nice.
Thanks, we need to spruce up the outside
Thats insane Bob! Better than I had imagined!
That was super cool and thanks for showing the non-CNC way (as I don't have one) myself and my library only has a little one. I totally want to do this for my closet door.
Oh yea that works!
That turned out looking terrific Bob & Crew! So glad that you decided to go with the natural wood look for those cover panels! Well done! I also think that you guys should install a soda fountain & popcorn maker in that room! 👍👍😉😉
Love star wars projects
Us too!
Very cool love the subtle Star Wars vibe.
Clever use of all the cutouts as spacers and mounts for the wheels.
I love this design. Nice job.
Thank you! 😊
Bob, these are absolutely beautiful. What an awesome design.
FREAKING COOL!!!
Thanks!
9:39 this is such a cool shot!!! Also the camera work for the reveal shots is top notch!
It still amazes me that the Star Wars interior designs are from the 70s. And they still look just as good and "Sci-Fi" in this day and age.
Sweet build Guys!! Turned out awesome!
We really love it! The console looks awesome in there too
This was cool. I really liked the smoked affect in the payoff shots at the end! Hmm, maybe you need a prop display for all the old projects? Or maybe a mini library for inspiration? Or a everyone builds their own lightsaber day/video?
Great idea for block light, it gives me some idea for window curtains/blinds
Very very nice job there Bob. The wood grain finish looks great. I bet people in the rest of the building will want something like it once they see it.
A snack bar for your D&D games! Have like a mini fridge and areas for snacks/storage!
Good call on leaving the screen unpainted. It looks amazing!
Fusion 360 is great, currently using it myself to help design a new L shaped desk for my "home office" space. Comes in really handy to make larger models and even just basic shapes to represent different objects.
This actually looks and works amazing! A complete transformation of the space.
LOVE how this turned out. Signed up for your Fusion class a year ago and started and then fizzled out; this inspired me to get started again!!!
That is such a cool wall! I love that it looks great, is very "star warsy" and I think it's a super creative way of fixing the problem
Im for sure using this design somehow in my place..like, horizontal blinds, but Star Wars. I love it!
This is SO cool looking. I absolutely love it.
Thank you so much!

This sort of build is why you're my spirit animal. Love it Bob!
Haha, thanks!

This is freakin awesome Bob! May the force be with you!
and with you!
I really like the clear window in the dust shoe.
A nice coffee station, or coffee bar would be great, and considering I want to do one might give me some ideas
That's a great idea!
smashed the like button before even watching! awesome idea!
quit watching yt videos we are waiting for the next part of the house !
FAN-tastic! I think v2 will need some LEDs for night time ambiance. Maybe a fog machine. Maybe.
U guys should make some sort of bed/couch or a chill spot in their. Thatd be cool!!
Super cool looking
I love your Star Wars stuff
The way the slats open and close reminds me of the cuts/windows in the doors of a republic gunship
It kinda has a classic 70s vibe I like it , I want it in my house 🤩🤩
Absolutely beautiful

I didn't understand what the second set of panels were for until the end!! So simple yet so genius!! Looks SO great!
Very cool idea and great implementation!

Incredible as usual

Cool project. Need to add a Scomp link close by for your droid.
that’s an awesome concept
nice

Looks sweet! I'm coining the term "Star Wars Shiek" as an interior design genre!
Love it! Might use this idea to make sliding "blinds" in our media room...
Go for it!
What you guys do is giving me inspiration ! And they all look cool 👍 thanks
This is probably my favorite project that you guys have done. Nice work ILTMS team!
Looks super slick, the unpainted wood looks so good with the red bricks
Oh my god this build is so awesome! I may have to build a set for my home office windows!
That's cool... you should model up and make the lounge area from the Millenium Falcon next, complete with a Halo-chess table. Seems like it would fit in nicely with the rest of the room...
Amazing build as always! Now build a Star Wars Droid inspired Fridge for the space!
Cool idea!
I love it, it turned out incredible. Great video, very inspiring.
SO FRICKING COOL!
Love you vids and all the ideas
Thank you!

Great video man ....and thanks for coming to the uk for MAKERS CENTRAL ...it was nice to meet you again...
I love the project I'm.huge fan of star wars awesome job

Super cool project. Would be interested to see what the dividers looks like from the outside to. White with wood seen through cutouts must look cool and unique from outside.
I love this and gave me the idea to do this on my bedroom windows cause I hate curtains and window blinds.
Looks freaking awesome 👌
