When doing it by hand it's actually a lot easier to use a hole saw and then just cut out the centers with a jigsaw that way you don't have to make the curve with the jigsaw and you have a perfectly round end that you don't have to shape out

as an engineer who uses CAD tools all day everyday, I can vouch that Fusion 360 is perfect for makers. it's got everything you need without overwhelming you. I used it a couple weekends ago to design a coffee table and see how it would look in my space. the added bonus is a lot of the UI is similar to other AutoDesk software so if you have those skills, it translates well.

First of all, those are gorgeous, and your cinematography for the reveal was just breathtaking!! And such a sophisticated take on a well-aged concept!
I'm gonna push to the slightly extreme on this, but maybe you could try your hand at making some arcade racing games so you can go one on one in Mario Kart or something. Full on adjustable seat, pedals, shifter, wheel with feedback and speakers in the headrest. I'd be willing to bet you'd make it more awesome than I could imagine.
