I first heard ST with The Summoning I think, and then listened to TMBTE record, and soon after I got the chance to play the whole three album trilogy on a long road trip and have listened to those records numerous times since. Also in the meantime I've watched a lot of reactions to the "hits" and a few full album reactions, but you're the first I've seen that heard a couple tracks and then just went fuck it we're starting from the VERY beginning. I haven't actually even heard One & Two on my own yet, but so far I appreciate the vibe of the older stuff. Looking forward to watching your whole series. I appreciate your musician's take on everything. Keep it up man, cheers
I'm watching all your Sleep Token reactions in order because I love the serotonin of watching someone falling in love with this band so forgive me if this is something you touch upon in other videos. I feel like as a guitar player it might be hadrd to notice at first, but this is 100% a drums/vocals focused band. At first I was always waiting for that legendary guitar solo until I figured it out and started focusing more and more on the poetry of that glorious drumming and I was floored. I'm a voice girl so thankfully I was already in love with Vessel's amazing vocals. But yeah, the drums and the voice are the stars in this band and it's very uncommon but so very welcome in a world where every metal band is just fighting to see who has the fastest most virtuoso guitar player.
It amazes me how they have developed their sound from this EP to TMBTE....Vessel has obviously been through some shit. And going back to what you said about artists making music for fame or making music for expression, clearly Vessel is not after fame. This music is so compelling because of the angst and passion he put into it. If my facts are correct, this EP was Vessel alone. II (the drummer) didnt join i think until the next EP. Vessel is a prodigy and plays multiple instruments. Not sure if he does the drums or not but yeah, this song was the best on ONE. TWO gets more passionate and has some awesome lyrics...dark but awesome 😂. I don't think it would be remiss if i told you to find on UA-cam Sleep Token - the speech.... that's just a voice that is supposed to be Vessel talking about why he wears the mask and his music. There is no actual video, just kind of like the visualizers of their songs. But you might be able to get a different view into his psyche. When my daughter played them for me, i was hooked. I went back to all the earlier songs and played them all the way through to the end of TMBTE 😅. It was at least half the day and I was just layed out, earbuds in, letting the playlist go and i swear, it was damn near hypnotic 😂😅😊 It was such a good journey! I was in the same place when my husband got home from work 😂😂 just vibin! It was awesome! Ok, well now on to number Two! 😁😁😁 Enjoy!!!
I could start to hear glimpses of the later tracks in this one, the development is already showing here. I wll get to The Speech eventually, wherever it may land. I am kicking off "Two" tomorrow with a bang by putting out the first two videos together. I hope you enjoy them! 😊
Hi, Braindead! I cannot recommend the piano demo version of this song highly enough. Now that you've gone through the entire journey, I feel like you'll have a keen appreciation for it. Man, you did the same thing I do with this song. I press play and just close my eyes, unless I’m driving, of course. Sometimes. Anyway, they have so many songs you can just melt into. This definitely ain’t the same old shit. I have gained such a love of prog and experimental music because of them. They’re a breath of fresh air that opened a massive door for me. Gotta love when listening to music inspires you to play music. They send me running to my drum kit often, that’s for sure. If you write a solo over this song, I’d friggin love to hear it!
If there is no video, I can't help it. It helps me absorb the music! I made the call to stop having lyrics up after this video though, I found it distracting. The music is what I am all about! 😂 I might do that one day, I am coming with ideas on how to incorporate guitar playing into some videos. We will see how it goes!

My fave Sleep Token Song next to Bloodsport. You need to check the live version. There is only one video on UA-cam. It's beautiful and perfect. I wish there would be a studio version of this - I prefer it to the EP version. Vessels voice hits harder.
If they did what Tool did with Opiate, by rerecording this first ep with their current engineer, it eould easily as good as anything on TMBTE, me thinks. Edit: not that it isnt, ut cant deny that filthy guitar and bass tones they got going in 2023.
