It seems to be a very popular idea, Jacquie, I think almost everyone is going for tags instead of squares, including me. Have fun from the sidelines and enjoy all your other projects :) xo
Thank you Carol, I'm so happy everyone seems to like the tags idea and I think there are so many ways they could be displayed - I think mine will probably hung in my craft room, and then go into a little book with pockets, along with any cards and notes people send. Also it's half the amount of stitching really, although of course they'll need backing and an eyelet or whatever. It's already very busy in the groups, I told myself no more than 25, already nearly there in the first 24 hours!! :D
Love the Tag alternative to the Squares and also the optional theme is a great one. So looking forward to getting started again, thank you Annie great video. x 💐
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's beautiful creations! Unable to participate as I have recently moved and am very new so not quite confident yet... Have fun everyone! I love this channel ❤Thank you Annie!
You might find that once you see the swaps going back and forth in the FB group/Discord, that you feel like jumping in after all - a bit later I'll be showing some very simple ideas you could try if you would like to, so you might feel inspired to have a go and you don't need to be an expert stitcher to join in. You can always post for swapsters later and just try one or two, see how you go. Any questions, just ask here or in the groups, one of us will always be happy to help :)
Aww tab yep so going to join in and make tabs. Wonder if I could make a kiwi Santa stamp thing in printing and make some fabric! Yep so going to try this will be supper fun and cute. Aww might try a pūkeko, watch out fabric store I am on the hunt for kiwi fun fabric, aww could do a beach thing as this is Christmas in NZ not here on the Coast, lol it usually rains except that year hubby and friends put up the trampoline talk about a fun filled evening. lol so funny. Have a great week, aww photos I am sorry I kept forgetting to take pictures, sigh. Yes I am very excited see you next time. ❤
Ah sounds like you have loads of ideas already Paula, and I always love to see your creative take on any challenge or prompt, so I'll look forward to seeing what you do with this one. Have fun, I know you will :) xo
Half way through this video and I'm in! Like you, after 1st and 2nd swap I didn't take part in 3rd one and really felt I had missed out. Might be nice to hang tags on Xmas tree if they arrive in time.
woooHOO, excellent - yes I was itching to jump back in this time and I'm really enjoying the buzz in the FB group and Discord, I have almost filled my card already! :)
I also was told at our post office that if you tell them it’s material you have to send it as a small parcel so $2+ to $10 from Australia to over seas. I never did the 1st time but last swap I had to. Can’t wait to get started.
Hi Karyn, yea some of the Australian stitchers told me that they were advised to mark their envelope "card only", which made it much cheaper and didn't cause any issues as far as I'm aware. I send my overseas ones as cards and keep them within the size and weight for UK letter post, so it's not too bad that way, and they all seemed to arrived safely and reasonably quickly too. Have fun stitching and swapping :)
Exciting times! Am very tempted to join for tags this round but need to weigh up with other projects with a deadline. Ah if only we had infinite stitching hours in the day! Cheers, Christine
I know, we need someone to invent elastic days don't we - I feel the same and I'm not even working any more! There's a real buzz in the FB group and Discord, tags idea seems to be a hit, with the vast majority going with tags, so I think we'll be keeping tags as an option for next time, hopefully you'll be able to join us for that one Christine xo
Going to play this time I think, I missed doing it the last 2 times 🤩 What on earth is that black stuff in your drink on your desk around the 3min mark, could be bubbles but looks like black floaty bits. 🤣
hehe it's my black coffee Lesley, it has bubbles on the top because I make it in a machine. I've enjoyed strong unsweetened black coffee ever since I was a kid and I drink far too much of it! Have fun stitching and swapping :)
@@artyfartyannie haha I did wonder if it was machine coffee...I drink black coffee too but I will cave to .5teaspoon of sugar lol and also drink way too much
Shame about the gallery but good for you, keeping your sanity in that respect. I'm undecided about participating at this point. Still have to do something with the squares I received in the first three rounds. 😁 I like the idea of bunting...
Thanks for your understanding Sue. Yes I still have nearly two thirds of my previous swap squares to finish putting in my keepsake books. I think the tags will be easier - both to make, as there's half the amount of stitching to do, and to store/display, because they could just go together with a book ring, or tie onto a banner, or just slip into the pockets of a paper or fabric book, along with the any cards or notes. It's buzzing in the groups already so I'm really excited, but there's nothing wrong with sitting one out Sue, I can tell you from experience that it makes it more exciting to jump back in next time :)
First time considering a swap - sounds fun. An FYI - In the info document, the measurement indicated for the tag is 3"x4", and your video says 2"x4" - is this something to be concerned about? Thanks!!
Thanks for that Gillian, I've just realised my error and have now corrected it in the FB group and Discord community, hope I didn't cause too much confusion. Hoping that people will realise it doesn't agree with the centimetre version. It's definitely meant to be 2" x 4". Thanks for taking the time to let me know, much appreciated :)
Love the new idea of tags I'll be sitting this one out but I'm really looking forward to see all the wonderful things everyone will be making x

Thank you Annie for your video. What a lovely idea, tags. I can just see these hanging all over a tree, how different would that be.
