I had the test yesterday it didn’t hurt it was uncomfortable they put the Qtip thing up there and turning it for 10 seconds then your nose burns after there was no other option I was mad

For people who are scared, I just got the test and it's not as bad as you think. It's uncomfortable, like you accidentally got pool water up your nose, but it doesn't hurt (at least it didn't for me.) Less uncomfortable than a flu shot. Believe me, I had a panic attack beforehand upon reading everyone's horror testimonials. The more you panic, the worse you are going to hype yourself up in a bad way. Take a few deep breaths, accept that it's happening, and know it is 10-15 seconds and isn't sharp pain like you may think. The swab isn't cotton, so there's no worry of cotton being left behind. It's going to be alright. You are going to get through this. Be grateful that you are able to be tested and that you will know if you have it or not to protect your family. You've got this. It's not going to kill you and It's over before you know it.

Just did the test it was for the mouth and nose its kind of uncomfortable, it burned for about 30 seconds but i dont really feel it now.

I too! I got so terrified but I did it and I was fine. Very unpleasant but not that painful, perfectly do-able and i would do it again if need be without being afraid.

At best it will make one eye water. The difficulty comes when a test subject jumps. That'll cause injury the test would not normally do.

Tbh it actually doesint hurt im 12 and i got it tested yesterday. It just stings you and itll last for like 2 seconds. Im getting the results in 2 more days.😁
I thought of a way that testing could be improved alot. we need to make an invention that costs like 5-60 dollars and you can take it to your house and test on your self without a doctor so that we dont spread it anymore. Cause then it would slow down the virus a ton!

I'm 11 and got tested like that yesterday , it didn't hurt AT ALL and they actually put the swab in your mouth aswell. I'm getting my results tomorrow and I'm nervous because my brother has asthma and my dad smokes...😬

For those of you watching in 2021, this is outdated. They don’t put it that far up into your nose anymore. I had it done and it doesn’t hurt or feel uncomfortable. It feels like cleaning your ear with a q tip after a shower.

Y’all I just did it, people make it seems like it’s such a big deal when in reality it’s not a pleasant feeling but it’s quick and it doesn’t hurt at all. hope it helps for anyone feeling a bit anxious about it

My moms test is positive. But me and my dad got tested today. And I feel like doctors take test wrong they just did it so light. And I washed my nose with alcohol an hour ago. If it would be negative I will still be suspicious. Pray for my family.

PCR does not determine your viral load, or if the virus is active. It only determines that a viral particle is present. That is all.
I'm a doctor in Panamá. Got tested last Wednesday and got a call today that it came back negative, thank goodness.

I got tested this morning and it wasn’t bad at all. They definitely didn’t go all the way up my nose, but far enough to tear up and feel like I needed to sneeze.

Nothing mentioned about cycle thresholds. So many of the tests are false positive if elevated cycle thresholds are used.

Just got my COVID test today and honestly it felt like nothing. The nurse was very gentle and the qtip didn't even feel uncomfortable. Just stay still and you're done in a few seconds!

I had it done today and it was so painful, kind of like breathing water in through your nose but 10x more painful and dry. They said it wasn’t gonna hurt and it was gonna feel uncomfortable but it was sooo much more than “uncomfortable”. I even teared up as I was getting it done.

I just had this a few hours ago and it really isn’t that bad! I did gag when I put the swab down my throat, but when I put it up my nose it just tickled a lot! No pain or discomfort for me. Don’t worry about taking the test :)

I have been tested 3 times here in Germany (for school and travel) and each time it was a throat swab for like 5 seconds maximum and didn't even really go deep enough to make you gag or anything. Easiest thing ever. The nasal swab in the U.S just looks absolutely terrifying 😂

I did the swab for the test, you have to start with the throat and then the nostrils... it is very uncomfortable... you have the urge to throw up every time it hits the back of your throat.

Edit: just got it. I don’t get the hype of it. I guess it depends on the person. I was super nervous, and then when they put it in it didn’t hurt at all. It just felt like you put water up your nose, so there was a bit of a sting. I didn’t tear up or anything. Again, I guess it depends on the person. So don’t be worried about taking this test. Just because your getting it, doesn’t mean you have covid. You got this, stay safe.

One way to jack up the numbers of 'cases' is to test,test,and test. But cases may rise while death rates have bottomed out.
If your worried about the swabtest then don’t be, I did it yesterday and it wasn’t that bad - it stings for 10-20seconds since it irritates the back of your nose but other than that it’s really fast and easy!

Did they lie to you and say you had the virus? They do that, They will say you have it when you actually do not. . Inside Edition , a reporter was tested for covid they said she had it, so she went to her doctor and said the people who did the testing before lied to her.

The fact is, that the first method really damages the nasal mucosa, which leads to many problems later and possibly permanent damages, i wonder why is it not possible to get the results from testing saliva?
I got tested on Friday and my nose is feeling all f***** up, since they took the swab out.
Saliva testing is possible but for some reason it isn't done in the UK.

My first two tests were negative but I have to go for a 3rd test this Thursday. My symptoms are headache, cough and sore throat/chills. I feel okay it's all mild symptoms.
So for the nose swab, if its positive its totally accurate and definitely reliable, but if the same equipment is used and you test out negative then, “Oh well you could still possibly have it even though we need just one small molecule of the virus to tell….” Sorry it just seems to counteract the argument of it being so accurate…..

I just did it yesterday and it just feels like water accidentally got into your nose. That’s all no pain nothing ... just a bit of watery eyes but I didn’t feel anything after the swab. The fact that I have come into contact with a positive covid person unexpectedly caught me off guard and I was really terrified just now... But my first test came out negative... Currently quarantine at home and waiting for second swab

Govt. nurse in Australia pushed & pushed swab deep, twirled it all around nostril hard like whipping cream. I nearly screamed. Didn' t allow her do other side. A fluid was discharged from nose following nights & all my nerves on one side of face to eye are dead, some imbalanced appearance. She did it on purpose. Evil nurse.

My understanding is that detection of the target genetic material you are looking for, is not the same as infection. You might detect inactive rna or active rna matching the virus description. And even then if the rna is active, this could mean it is vurilous enough to produce symptoms or infectious and be passed to others.
From where you have got the model various to compare the various you found or the RNA?
I’m going to get tested today. I believe it would be with the nose swab. I had a lot of nose congestion, and I took a nasal spray earlier, so now I don’t have any congestion. Would the results still be the same if I didn’t take the nasal spray?
Swab is quite painful,some people like even shade tears while experimenting.

I remember that when I was little I had to get the swab thing because I had pneumonia and it wasn't going away. I sneezed and the qtip basically shoot out of my nose. It was horrific. I am gonna get tested today and I can't say that I am looking forward to it.

I thought the swab test, which is the fast test, was the one that measured the antibodies but apparently not. So is the PCR test what’s also called the molecular test? And if so can it also be done via blood sample?
Mine used brush-covered sticks up my nose both sides and caused a very bad nose bleed, both sides, hurt some, scraping with the brushes all the way back. Nose bled several minutes.

I got a question, I realize that we all have to be tested at some point. I'm concerned the an ENT doctor said I have narrow passages.
Also when I go to the dentist I have a gag reflex, but he said just relax and try to breathe through my nose,(I use one of those breathe Right strips and it seems to help).
But what you would do you do when your nose and passages are plugged up?
Also my mom is 93 and in a living assistant, (that was not my idea). I should say she's really amazing and she has all her faculties.
We know it's for the best, and she doesn't seem to mind to be tested. She claims it does not bother her. By the way I should mention, we are both very brave

I got the test and they did mine with an ear qtip and went in a circular motion each nostril. They didn’t go all the way up.
I can stress how painful this experience was. Even having this virus isn’t as bad as that test was.

I guess things have changed. I just was tested at a drive through here in Tennessee and it was a feathery little thing that was swirled only in the area of the nose right at the opening. Like where you would pinch your nose closed. No hurting a slight tickle
Really really interesting. Dr Lambourne is a very clever chap and makes it understood. I myself have been involved in PCR or swab testing in Oxford. I find it all rather fascinating.

For those who are concerned about how the test will feel or if they are scared. It tickles, like you got dust in your nose. Your eyes water a tiny bit but it does not hurt, tickles tho
Swabs could be contaminated to get rid of the pensioners. Then there is the question of DNA being SOLD to the US. That means any Stem Cell treatment you may require YOU have to pay as they copyright you DNA.

I had a hospital camera put up my nose and pushed down into my throat. Yes, it was uncomfortable but it wasn't painful. I can't even remember how it actually felt now. Not like other painful things I've had happen to me.

Im confused ...when checked (quarantine mates )living in a same place, same food, same environment ....after test the result ...(some reports positive and some negative) ..though it is communicable.

I had this test done on me today...twice. The nurse ended up dropping the first swab and had to do it again, but in my other nostril. It hurt like a bitch! I read that others have had headaches afterwards, mine has been hurting now for over 6 hours. I hope it's gone by tomorrow.
How much time does it take to get the result in PCR test?
I was tested in Russia and I have a question why they do it differently ? They just take a swap from your mouth or from the nostril not deep, as it was shown here.
The video said that the PCR is sensitive enough to detect even a single virus.
It makes little sense that the virus would stay at the back of your nose and won't leak to the front, especially when you are coughing and sneezing.
Still getting stronger sampler is better, the only question is just how much better.
My country has a limiter number of tests and testing equipment, so they are using a trick called group testing. They mix 20 samples and test them at once. If the test is negative then all the people in the group are safe. It is a great way to rule out low risk groups, but it helps to get stronger samples.
The trick is based on science paper and it provides instructions how you can test up to 60 samples at once.
@@user-jp7tw3sd3x The virus also doesn't cover every bodily surface or mucus membrane. Their presence there is incidental, not primary. So going back there with a swab, is the closest we come in a cheap and safe manner, to what would have been optimal; collecting the swap from lower airwaves or lungs.
Sneezing is also not a very common symthom, not directly related anyway.
The nostril isn't as deep as this image implies. They probably swabbed the top end if it where it curves over towards your throat. We don't have a cavern like this picture inside our heads.
I've had a hospital camera up my nose and down my throat and although it's not comfortable it's not painful.

I just went for testing and the nurse gave the swab to me by giving me the swab and sticking it in my nose a little bit about an inch inside my nose is that sufficient to detect for covid if the swab does not go all the way to the back of the nose

FR. He gave a very watered down version and didn’t talk about the problems with it.
The cloth masks are also useless, and sometimes detrimental. Only the n95 or lacking that actual surgical masks give a marginal reduction of risk, but cloth masks are recommended *not* being used. But who cares "trust the sceyenze".
both my parents work in an environment where there are a lot of people involved. went for a test yesterday and miraculously they both tested negative.

What if i have frontal sinusitis, is it painful , can i refuse to do the test?
Please check into how the swap sample it’s getting done with incorrect head position leading to false positive if the swab point to the upper sinus instead of back of the throat
