Alright I know this is a decade old and nobody sorts by new but cmon, how is nobody losing their shit over Mion's (Shion? I dunno) arm at the end ~5:21. Shits got me weak and I can't stop giggling
It sucks that they changed the English VAs for Higurashi Gou and Sotsu, I rewatched English after the Japanese one, but I prefer the English cast of the original series over the new English ones. The JP VAs were the same which is great for consistency, I wonder if they just couldn't get the original English voices to come back or what. Would've been nice, especially for Rika and Keiichi.
I know this is an old comment, but I think Rika's voice was done "annoying" on purpose. In the second season, when she's alone she speaks in a very deep voice since she's supposedly been doing this time loop thing over and over so I'm guessing she had to act like she was a little kid still yknow....Just my opinion, I do agree it's a lil annoying
Also, while I think anime did a great job. This lone scene was made better in manga. The reason is Rika. In anime she takes it like this is normal. In manga she is as shocked as Keiichi, because this is the first time she sees person remembers past beside her. I kinda like manga for making Rika more emotional.
One of the best works of fiction I've ever experienced. With how goofy, fanservicey, and hollow most animes tend to be, it feels strange to say that. But it's true. The translation here is in my opinion way better than the straight subtitled version, as it better shows how thankful Keiichi was that his friends tried to help him. Keiichi's voice acting is great. Rika is such a weak link, though. Her voice acting is...pretty bad.
came here after finding out that his eng va is the same as shuichi saihara’s. of course i wouldn’t have noticed this before, cause i only watch my anime subbed
You mean when she said, "What, you don't believe me?" That's the first question Arc Keiichi remembered. Rena and Mion seemed evil back then and as it turns out they were trying to reach out to Keiichi because he'd gone insane. Rena was trying to snap him out of it and it didn't work.
I dunno, things just got out of control by that point. Keiichi apparently got this disease that's been going around which is why he freaked out like that. The worst stages lead to you clawing out your throat.
Okay, when I first watched Higurashi, it was the dub. I didn't think it was bad, until _now_. Holy fucking shit, it's bad. Is it seriously that hard to find good voice actors/actresses? Obviously that's not the case since plenty other less-known anime have way better dubs than this. Rika sounds like some girl going through the awkward stages of puberty, while Keiichi sounds like a generic super hero, and Mion... I don't even know.
I'm in the same boat, I originally watched the dub when I was younger because that is all I was still used to just watching anime on TV.. I've been rewatching the whole series subbed now and just.. my god.. horrible. Not all dubs are horrible, props to anyone who even tries, but yeah. I know its easier for the Japanese because there is no localization or translating, the animation is tailored to the voice acting there, so I appreciate dubs but.. many of them are awkward.
3:34 Bernkastel is such a bitch, why manipulate people in such awful situation like that one, first Keiichi kills his friends and then himself, and now this witch acts like she feels bad about it ? If this was real like a war or something from pure reality then I'd feel there isn't anything else wrong than the Hinamizawa Syndrome that causes all the tragedy inside people, but damn, everything is just part of a girly human-toying game ? That really scrambles all my feelings towards moments like this one where I can feel empathy towards Keiichi and Rika, well, most for Keiichi, but I feel like Rika isnt even real, just Bernkastel. I wonder about the true relation between Rika and that unhuman witch Bernkastel.
This apparently is getting a remake with a new animation. I haven’t watched this yet but know it’s screwed up. I’m not sure if their gonna change up some stuff and hands off some of the possible exceedingly brutal scenes.
ITS BAD TO ME. maybe because I’m use the they style to much but honestly a lot of the voices don’t fit in but at least they did rikas voice some justice or however you say it.
I think I figure it out I believe that they are reincarnated only do not reincarnated in the sense of past lives instead it's like they're in alternate universes but they're not basically there reincarnated in the same time frame which is kind of weird but this anime is so awesome I just watched the entire series well season one I don't know if this is season 2 I'm going to look it up myself and see if there is this anime is so awesome
+Johnathan Mason I agree, I definitely think there was an allusion to reincarnation in this series, that you couldn't fully enjoy it unless you understood it as well.
Drakila 94 Due to Featherine giving up on the game, the characters had to figure out the way to victory on their own, so as Rika kept going deep in the Multiverse, the deja vu's for certain gifted characters kept getting stronger, as Bernkastel's power depends on low probability, the deeper she dived, the more low probability events started taking place, the more she got stronger.

am i the only one who likes rika's voice
Yes. She sounds like a bootleg Misty.
I love Mion
Also as bad as the dubbed voices were they have grown on me over the years. The dub was the first way I watched it so now it kinda has that old ADV like nostalgia to it for me
I think he remembered because their bond was stronger than he thought That could Remember the loop he was in.🤔🤔🤔
Alright I know this is a decade old and nobody sorts by new but cmon, how is nobody losing their shit over Mion's (Shion? I dunno) arm at the end ~5:21. Shits got me weak and I can't stop giggling
The cycle repeat
This is hilarious!
I really like Keichis voice acting,
but Rika's voice ruins the english dub for me..
I thought it was the other way around 😅
Oh, never mind...
Doyal Nitai yeah they ruined the image of rika to me
I know this is an old comment, but I think Rika's voice was done "annoying" on purpose. In the second season, when she's alone she speaks in a very deep voice since she's supposedly been doing this time loop thing over and over so I'm guessing she had to act like she was a little kid still yknow....Just my opinion, I do agree it's a lil annoying
@@RachelAnnTaylor
But her original japanese voice is sweet without being annoying.
Shuichi!! 🙀🤍
aaaand monomi (rika)
keiichi wonders why he didnt trust his friends but then he sees this face in the other world 2:54
also can someone closely observe this scene 3:09
He is just hallucinating everything up to that point though
@@alexiscando5709 can u clarify?
Why do you guys hate dubbed?!?! I think it is good!!!!!!!!
me too
I only hate Rika's voice but everyone else is fine. Keiichi's voice is my favorite voice.
Madi Delgado tue
Madi Delgado I know!!!!!
Madi Delgado is season 2 dub coming out?
miown.. satoekou and rica two..
1:30
i dont know anything about satoeshe! cuz nooen will tell me the truf abot it!
so many endings
Camryn Leach indeed!
My fate is mine to carved
God that rika voice lol
Rika sounds like Monomi.
Also, while I think anime did a great job. This lone scene was made better in manga. The reason is Rika. In anime she takes it like this is normal.
In manga she is as shocked as Keiichi, because this is the first time she sees person remembers past beside her. I kinda like manga for making Rika more emotional.
In which arc of the manga?
Which chapter?
nah the VN is what matters
One of the best works of fiction I've ever experienced. With how goofy, fanservicey, and hollow most animes tend to be, it feels strange to say that. But it's true.
The translation here is in my opinion way better than the straight subtitled version, as it better shows how thankful Keiichi was that his friends tried to help him. Keiichi's voice acting is great. Rika is such a weak link, though. Her voice acting is...pretty bad.
No, is just Moeshit.
the Japanese voice acting also sucks.
Kilik and Iok brought me here.
Kilik aside, Shuichi brought me here too
Also Keiichi has Kilik's VAs, I ended up liking him for that fact alone 🤩
@@tmma1869 😂😂😂 ikr
came here after finding out that his eng va is the same as shuichi saihara’s. of course i wouldn’t have noticed this before, cause i only watch my anime subbed
cause were friends
yeah friends that kill each other
If you watch the whole show, it makes sense. Its a tragic tale
Is that...shuichi?
I still don't quite get what happened at 2:10 What did Rena mean??
You mean when she said, "What, you don't believe me?" That's the first question Arc Keiichi remembered. Rena and Mion seemed evil back then and as it turns out they were trying to reach out to Keiichi because he'd gone insane. Rena was trying to snap him out of it and it didn't work.
Oh so they wern't evil at all? He just thought they were? Huh. So... why'd he claw his throat out??
I dunno, things just got out of control by that point. Keiichi apparently got this disease that's been going around which is why he freaked out like that. The worst stages lead to you clawing out your throat.
Ugh. That's brutal. But interesting. And I thought Rika counter-acted the disease.
+Brett Buchinski Not in the first arc.
Rika and Sakoto are kids I won't be too hard on them
Rika’s voice sounds like a character from Megaman Legends, although I checked the voice actor list for both Higurashi and Megaman and found no matches
Can someone fucking explain how they still each these I’m serious it scares the hell out me
Okay, when I first watched Higurashi, it was the dub.
The Japanese is just as bad
I like the dub but I've seen so many clips in the sub so it's really weird when I hear.
bro keiichi was in a other world where rena rion was killer man i feel bad but he had to kill them
3:34 Bernkastel is such a bitch, why manipulate people in such awful situation like that one, first Keiichi kills his friends and then himself, and now this witch acts like she feels bad about it ? If this was real like a war or something from pure reality then I'd feel there isn't anything else wrong than the Hinamizawa Syndrome that causes all the tragedy inside people, but damn, everything is just part of a girly human-toying game ? That really scrambles all my feelings towards moments like this one where I can feel empathy towards Keiichi and Rika, well, most for Keiichi, but I feel like Rika isnt even real, just Bernkastel. I wonder about the true relation between Rika and that unhuman witch Bernkastel.
Rika is the human form of Bernkastel while Rika's witch form is Bernkastel.
He is just like Nobuaki Kanazawa However He's very crazy than Nobuaki
Well I want to know where did you found the english dub clip? I want to do videos of Higurashi without the sub. So please tell me
Thewatchcartoon there ya go
I really wanna watch this but it would probably break me
圭一の演技いいな。まあ日本ならおれは保志さんでいいけど
This apparently is getting a remake with a new animation. I haven’t watched this yet but know it’s screwed up. I’m not sure if their gonna change up some stuff and hands off some of the possible exceedingly brutal scenes.
Not a remake
Dafuqs up with Rikas voice?
Mee own, Sat oh koe and ree kah, too.
I hate the dub
Ughhh... My ears it hurts!!
Is rikas english va nunally from code geass
Yes!
If only passione used the OG VAs....
Old version is much better than the new one 🥲
I do like passionne but not for higurashi
4:47💙
Mature Rika sounds like Jennifer Tilly
I still can't figure out how he could remember something that technically never happened since time rewound itself.
Drakila 94
Due to Featherine giving up on the game, the characters had to figure out the way to victory on their own, so as Rika kept going deep in the Multiverse, the deja vu's for certain gifted characters kept getting stronger, as Bernkastel's power depends on low probability, the deeper she dived, the more low probability events started taking place, the more she got stronger.
