- We're back with the Armour cadets and this week's question: how hard can it be to drive a tank?
Shawn soon finds out that while practice can make perfect, nerves will play a big part in success or failure.
A Project Peanut/ One Dash 22 production for MINDEF.
Produced and directed by Dom Ow.
"I'm a Steamroller, Baby" arranged and performed by Whiteflowers; music and lyrics adapted for Army cadence from the original song "Steamroller" by James Taylor.

woo, wee kiat, fierce to the max, makings of a officer!!
Thanks!
The normal tank is Leopard 2A4 MBT.
The one with add-on armour kit is Leopard 2SG MBT.
At least he has a positive attitude towards things and he knows his mistakes. Wow. I really want to be in armor when in NS.
But still respect these guys (: !
wah the sgt's england is damn powderful.
Woa a first Sergeant instructing a officer cadet ....wait till the cadet pass out then tekan him back la......
I was a Armour driver before driving those M113. Trust me, for those who have being through the course, you will learn to respect what he says... It takes a ball of steels to drive thru those gullies, gentle knifes, dragon teeth, swim through reserviors and still be standing firm on the ground...
yeah 1st sgt he's now promoted to staff though
@mogan23z Ganesh was poster to combat engineers. It was shown in the last few episodes.
Ya infantry officers will either be posted to infantry/guards, once into guards they will commence GCC to convert to guardsman and get beret+tab
once get the one bar, ask the sergeant carry on !

Its a very danger! :)
Lol did he jus address the 1st sgt as staff?
The cadet is still in training. What's more, it's a safety breach when in a tank.
@yewsam1 At least he (the test) managed to get his safety aspects clear. Driving a tank is no easy feat.
every thursday 6pm
holy like that also can pass driving lic easy target for everyone
If I'm not wrong, we'll upgrade in phases to the Leopard 2A6 standard or more that is unique to Singapore.
For example, we'll upgrade to the 120mm L55 smoothbore gun from the 120mm L44 smoothbore gun.
or would you say the camera made him nervous???
What happened to the others like Ganesh, will they be shown in their units?
Singapore need its own mbt
COE needed boh? ERP leh? LTA issues summon?
After infantry officer cadets pass out where will they go to?can they then join guards?
Is it possible to invent our own tank according to our own battlefield needs for example theres lots of dense trees or combining every advantage of other countrys tank together for example the armour of A1 abrams, the mobility and compactness of T90 and the safety of the isreli merkeva tank with the engine infront
I can see where you are coming from. But be rest assured that people do change when the environment changes, I have no doubt that our boys will perform their duties should those scenarios play out.
I've heard that the Singapore Army L2SG is equivalent to 2A6. Is it true?
that guy 1st sgt right?? or is it staff?
Is a very danger! Omg!
how much horsepower does leopard tank has?
Yup, im saying that cause i happened to be a tank driver LOL
Dear Cyberpioneertv,
I've lived out of Singapore in various countries since I was 10, and when I return for my NS I would like to work in the armored devision. How do I chose the course after BMT, and how do I earn a black beret? Also would it help if I had a technical background as I do an auto tech class which involves hands on work and working with cars.
Sorry for the late reply. I'm a pre-enlistee now, but from what I know, you will be asked to fill in your interests with regards to your vocation. However, there is no guarantee that you will be posted to your choice.
@@SDStudios ord lohhhhhhh
It is powered by a 1,500 horsepower twin turbo charged V12 multi-fuel diesel engine.
In the unit, nobody will do that. You do not give him face and you lose the cohesion between your men. You do not simply use that power on impulse.
yah :P
Singapore doesn't have the resources to build its own tank from scratch, we're not like Germany or America where they have enough materials to make Rolled-homogeneous Armour, engines with enough horsepower and their fire control unit. Btw, the Leopard 2 tank is 1 of the best in the world as it combines the most powerful 120mm smoothbore gun with composite and slat armour to defend against shaped charges or KE rounds. It also has one of the fastest speeds of any production tank.
wow...looks like driving a tank is hard....very hard.
Cool
No, you are wrong. Trust me, it is much easier than taking the PSLE. I was a M60 class tankie back in the 1970's. We drove the tank to do dozing of tank pit and had to use 2 legs to jam the brake to stop the 54 ton machine, back and fro to get the tank pit done up. Maintaining the tank is harder esp the track but as long as you can take the pain and tong, then noting is impossible. One more thing, should you ever become a tankie, be very alert of the area/space around u to prevent accident.
Aren't you xCzl? :p
lol are you kidding me, because its surprisingly easier than driving a car.
What tank is SG using?
Tiger panzer whack these
Is that so?
I don't want go tank unit already lol :P
Then where you want to go...???
Not rly. Once you get the hang of it it's actually not too bad...i thought he sucked a bit on the gullies...but then again, I dunno how it is like to drive that tank model
if i didnt see wrongly, should be 1st sgt
better not to be too overconfident
tank commander need to drive tank meh?i thought only need to give orders?
If we get the T-90s there will be much political tension and the T-90 arguably is worse than the Leopards, M1 Abrams currently is exclusive for America, the export version isn't as good as the leopards. The Merkava is my personal favorite and I think it should be bought, maybe our neighbours won't be happy
Well I have never driven a tank before. Easy for you but from the looks of this video, doesn't seem like easy. Haha.

Ermmmm......
Aliff Jamal what’s wrong lol
Yeah they purposely made it look hard so that it's impressive from outsiders' point of view =/
What is next time your men did that to you?!?! :)
Shawn does not make a good officer, I know it
It’s ok good officer also cannot become billionaire
You cannot be a billionaire being a salaried employee anywhere on the world... besides officers are supposed to lead by example regardless of how much they’re paid?!
But I acknowledge there’re way more officers who’re staying in their job just for the salary, and just going through motion, thus zero motivation to go beyond their job scope.
@@danielong1153 Some are NSF so might as well dont bother waste time
If there's gonna be a war , will these soldiers have the balls of steels ? O.O I see singaporean soldiers are not really meant for wars :(
