(For those wonderful designers from the sixties that may still be with us) I expect they view some of these completed build projects and incredible paint finishes and think to themselves “ That’s the vision I had in my head - before the factory slashed the production budget so low I had to sacrifice almost half of it! “…
At 5:45 , In 30 odd years when you are diagnosed with skin cancer on your hands, you wish you have used gloves when welding !!!, fantastic work you are doing, always looking forward to next episode. A good old handmade thumbs up to you guys.
I like how you say Stu is 'simply' shaping the holes with a hammer and a dolly. I could spend weeks trying to do that and would probably end up scrapping the front end lol.
Having done hammer & dolly work in the past (on a MkII Jag!!!) I agree with you Warren - Stu is the God of making flat metal into perfectly curvy and perfectly shaped metal.
Please, please do a video on the Charger when the owner has finished it! For such an enormous car it is a beautiful, elegant shape, and the colour and paint job is just amazing...
@@mk1cortinatony395 I was going to say more or less the same thing! It's funny how relatively small changes make such a huge difference, the car the Charger was developed from is nothing special!
Detailed update as always. I must say that the work carried out by the Retropower team continues to provide inspiration to petrol heads around the globe !
That Charger. You must all be so proud of the levels of perfection you go for and seeing its results in the finish of it. Just incredible. If I had the money, I would hand you my 307 to create something modern and unique. I am sure that even such a crap car would come out to be something to be awed.
Stunning work again guys, the Charger looks phenomenal in the sun and the MK1s are progressing nicely. I have to say I'm pretty apprehensive about getting the front end panels on my project aligned properly after seeing you struggle, but it does make me feel better that it wasn't just me that had to cut and weld the door hinges!
Another fantastic week. It's got me fired up for a good week on my project. But working totally on my own I know I won't be anywhere near as productive. But hay ho I can but try. Kind regards Paul from 48 Spokes 🇬🇧
Ditto ~ Watch one of these, go out to the dark, damp freezing barn with an icy gale screaming through the holes in the roof and decide the steel's too cold to weld ~ put the kettle on!
@@dancarter482 🤔😂 Not quite Dan. I have a humidity controlled workshop if not temperature. It is definitely getting less cold so work is slowly starting up again. Try watching a few of my real world videos and see the progress. It's certainly not all bad. 😁 Kind regards Paul from 48 Spokes 🇬🇧
@@itsalldoable Anti-social media strikes again - Okay, I'll try again - I -me, myself; watch an inspiring video like this. Then I go out to TRY and use that inspiration to get on with a massive intimidating fabrication project - BUT it is cold etc. so I find an excuse ..... ..
Love the challenge of the Post Office. I used Parcel Force direct and got a package to Cyprus! Also, I enjoy the Escort material, just because you have two in at the moment is just extra fun for me!! You also had two E types at one point…
So amazing what this guy Stu can do 21:05 adding the front openings to Churchill just wow wow For the stratos I would have done the inserted panels front and back in the main car color for a cleaner look…
I really like the look and shape of those arches, I never thought the standard type, mk1 bubble arches on the rears looked right. But these ones look really good
Fantastic channel! Seeing Retropower at work is an absolute joy to watch. Incredible levels of skill and attention to detail. Out of interest though, when it comes to these two Escorts, are they really worth all the effort? It seems like they've required an absolute tonne of work and attention, wouldn't it be easier and more efficient to just order an MKI built to spec from MST?
Excellent quality work as usual some of your younger guys have the potential to be even better than Stu by the time they get to his years of experience. I think someone has already mentioned but once you have perfected the Escort carbon panels I am sure there would be a market as there was for the engine mounts for some sales.
An Escort with an out of position door hinge? Surely not, how could such a thing happen? I remember doing a pre delivery inspection on a Mk2 Transit (UK built) where about 6 feet of the off side inner sill had been bent upwards and completely missed the outer sill when the shell was welded. You could see daylight through it, but it still got delivered to the dealer. Those were the days.
Do you ever consider selling your own range of parts? Once you’ve designed a part which is better than those available on the aftermarket, like the carbon Escort boot panels could you order a production run then sell them?
Watching this while the TV news is on behind me. The Turkey disaster makes me realise how the money spent here is such a contrast to the need for humanitarian aid. Not to say that this is wrong, but ......the dichotomy...
how often do you receive requests from potential new customers who have seen your cars (UA-cam or physically) and ask you to build the same for them? That is, I win lotto, knock on your door and ask for a Morris, "just like that one"... I guess a second build would be quicker if you did as you would know the issues that arose during first build... oh, and please tell me you have another Morris in the pipeline...
Pussycat,,,Flexible obese flywheels. Totally dumb! Really they should be banned. Escort,,, its a basic budget POS,, made by union workers who never cared and you expect panel fit!! Composite panels for an Escort. The problem is no two are alike and repeatability is always and issue The charger color looks excellent out in the sun
Thanks Retropower for constantly setting the bar just a little bit higher every week, without fail.

I can’t wait to see Churchill when it’s on all four wheels. That is going to be a stunning car. Cheers, Paul
The finish on the Charger is so deep you could lose an arm in it. It's gorgeous!

I'm not sure wow does it justice.

Just about to say it doesnt even need wheels, its such an amazing shape already :)

That charger is gonna be drop dead gorgeous, that colour is perfect 👌
the paint job on the Charger is out of this world.

That's the straightest Charger i've ever seen.

As my father used to say :
If you want a job done, ask yer son !
If you want it done well, do it "yersel".
So true !

The Charger looks great !
That Manta looks stunning as you say outdoors in natural daylight. A crowd stopper wherever it will go.
The Dodge Charger looks amazing 🎉
Great work, Charger is amazing. I worry about Stu's hearing!
pardon?
Don’t worry about over exposure on the two Escorts as far as I’m concerned, - they are my favourites!!
Thanks for publishing in 1080 this week, the work carried out at Retropower deserves the detail.
They normally do, but YT often initially releases in potato-vision, which is very annoying. I've had videos take over a day to get to full HD.

But Dam, that Charger, theres enough metal there to probably make 4 Mk1 Escorts...
Great as always any news on the grass track car.
What music is used over the shots of the Charger at the end? Which, I have to say, looks incredibly good!
Second this!! The Drum and Base with the Charger clip were both Amazing!!
Gaz is amazing.
Those Escorts are going to look the business, will they be the sames colour ?
If you print your own labels via the website, Royal Mail will ship internationally. At least they do here up North
I don’t like green cars.
Except for that Charger! It is beautiful

They also probably were expected to rust so quickly that they were probably left like that until the next set ere fitted 😂🤣😂🤣
I need to up my lottery ticket budget, because I have so many great ideas for cars I want you lads to build for me. Lol!
What song do you use to test the audio?
I vaguely remember someone like Alpine using Queen,

Stratos will never be finished it seems.
Is it just me or do others look at the jag like that and see a hot rod? Sorry purists🤣 I was even a little horrified at myself.
U listening to some Drum and bass in the moggy there? Legendary :-D
where are the wheel spinners from?

Is anyone else wondering why you would go to Redux and buy a car from them when you could just cut out the middle man.
