Hi Kevin , after testing the RXP -X 300 and the GP1800R and said that you would put your money on the GP1800R , do you think in the open ocean the GP1800R will still be your number 1? [ i know u didnt test the skis in the ocean yet like you point out in your last vid but still..]
@@watercraftjournal don't forget $200 for a boarding step. And when I checked out the sound system the option was over $1000 dollars on Sea Doo's customizer.
The rear seat, adjustable handlebars and colours should all be standard. Seadoo are now pushing the price up just high enough now that for the first time in 15 years I am probably going to buy a Yamaha. Makes me sad.
I regret buying Seadoo over Yamaha or Kawasaki. Gp1800 is the clear winner for me. I'm ready to buy a couple more skis and some of the electrics as well but my 2021 Seadoo shipped with malfunctioning braking and reverse and other electrical issues leaving me and a child stranded twice, nearly causing a dock collision and 8 months later it's still malfunctioning and can't be ridden. Year warranty almost up and they have my money while I have dangerous garbage and increasing expenses for something that doesn't work. BRP and the dealership (RideNow) have brushed me off and I wasted an entire years vacations with a broke Sea-Doo and tons of unreturned calls and heartache. RideNow kept it for extended periods of time billing for the same warranty repair and ended up damaging the unit on the last repair then test drove it at the lake and brought it back to me with cracked hull mounts, hull seals hanging out, screws hanging out, service compartment broke and the new trailer scraped as well. Other visits had my trailer missing parts that they ended up taking off someone else's in repair right in front of us. BRP(Seadoo) ghosted me for months repeatedly. Basically the same story I hear from others is Seadoo is very unsupportive with their issues. With only 12 months warranty that's risky as I have been shown. I have to fly in town and check on the ski while it sits in storage as RideNow has basically told me they have attorneys go ahead and use my attorneys. I've strangely run into hundreds of people in so many areas that have had bad repairs, bad deals, damaged new units and major complaints that make this business questionable and seem predatory. Don't just take my word though. I don't even try and run into people angry at RideNow. Ask the community, look at RideNow reviews(and Metro Motorsports) on Google and Rip-off Report. I truly wish I had never heard of them and that I could rewind the clock on what was supposed to be just a quiet peaceful time quarantining with some jet skis and utvs. I'll be buying more vehicles but I am certainly not risking it from RideNow or BRP. Great review as usual though keep em coming!
I've noticed a trend with sea doo haters.... they always lack details about thier grievances. They always say what happens, but they never say why it happened.
Well carbon seals fail because of the formula they use to make them, the drive line shifting or being miss aligned and friction over time they have been designed in a way that almost makes them prone to failing at some point. Customers of my fathers business have these problems in a season 4 seadoos should not sink within one summer especially when there isn’t a Yamaha that sinks because you will almost never have a problem with the drive lines
Yamaha's NanoXcel2 hulls crack, older SVHO engines snapped timing chains. Everyone's got problems. Most carbon ring failures (demonstrably more) are due to jumping waves or filling the seal up with sand (beaching the ski or starting it in shallow water), or running it out of the water on the trailer or stand.
Steering input is sharp, but its the hull you're seeing delay response as the tail must force the nose to pivot. It's a bit unnatural at first (unlike the Yamaha GP or the FX) but an apt rider can adapt.
Let's hope the carbon seal doesn't fail on this newest model , LIKE MINE DID IN THE FIRST TWO HOURS OF RIDING. I spent $21000 Aus and it nearly sinks. Anyway I've had my bitch and feel a little better now.
@@watercraftjournal apparently it's not that rare and was fixed by the dealer who was very sympathetic, it was due to the engine alignment. Another guy I ride with had his go at 30 hours , and when flushing the skis we only do it for sixty seconds. Anyway the ski is fixed now. Good review.
In Canada the Yamahas seem to be more expensive than sea Doos. The new RXP-X 300 comes in 800 dollars cheaper. Even the gtr 230 is about 1000 dollars cheaper than the VX cruiser HO. I love both brands but can’t stand the haters. The whole carbon seal thing that sea Doo haters always bring up. Like enough already. Drive it properly and u probably won’t have any issues.
