I was really looking forward to a spartan like gameplay with a spear and grabs but I got only grabs I’m not complaining yet though because they may make changes in the future

The amount of people in here said “shuriken throwing simulator” doesn’t know that Reiko has to use all three Bars to get the most damage as possible to close the match out quick, and throwing shuriken is part of Reiko mech as it recover his bars faster, he is a grabber hybrid zoner, it’s how the character is suppose to be played and reason why Rewind is number 1 Reiko main, he can utilize the character to it full potential.
Reiko has such a cool design but his gameplay is boring. He relies too much on cameo fighters to get decent combos. He’s definitely missing something

I was wondering why people even wanted this character in the game. He is as normal as normal gets. Nothing special about him at all.

Ive fought this type of Reiko several times in KL. Motaro slows them down well.
like you actually have to be high skill level to play Reiko cuz he has so little to work with.
He is a grappler so his combos are harder to hit and not so damaging. But him with scorpion or Sonya kameo I found some easy 33% no bar combos
You can kombo off his ex counter special idk why no one uses it

I love NetherRealm makes such a cool character as reiko but give him limited move sets compared to the rest of the boring ass generic ass asian cast, can’t wait for the overpowered super hero guest characters like Omni man to take away from all the other boring mortal Kombat kast

Reiko is definitely like F tier in this game. buuut at least he can do something! i play him and it’s hard don’t get me wrong, compared to the rest of the cast something definitely needs to change for Reiko it’s frustrating but Rewind is still puttin up a fight with what has to be the sorriest character in the game when it comes to damage and options in his move set. Rewinds a G
I think his damage is fine how it is but I think what might need to change is his main mid string should be sped up, and I think his standard command grab should do more damage maybe like 15% and the AMP 25%
Edit: I just wanted to add that he is a “rushdown” character and so if he has a faster mid to back up his plus frames that would help a lot instead of it being a poking game still.
@@dpandajr.1009 i agree wit that mid string comment. but i still think a lil boost in damage would help because he gets out damaged by almost everybody else in the cast. like you could be doing everything right have a minor hiccup here and there and somebody like Raiden can literally touch you once for 50% and it’s all downhill from there.

@@0VICEROY0 I understand the combo thing but he is known as kind of a gimmicky grappler, and I would advise using the up knee then amp the slide it grants you way more damage instead of wasting meter

Does anyone else feel like this game is super basic and boring. I feel MK11 was better and way more competitive. Yeah it may be creative in terms of kameos for extending, but strings are so stale and generic. Not to mention some character design feels rushed, like there is no depth to them. Reiko is definitely an example, reptile, subzero, havik. It’s such a disappointment. So far, this game isn’t very good to me.
Yeah I like how mk11 you could choose your specials so your character fits your fight style this one is boring so far

The newer mk games are all boring lmao variations crippled the game frfr and now the KAMEO system is supposed to be the main draw and it's the only fun I've had with an mk game since X. AND I use Reiko with Jax and Li Mei with Darrius and I think they're awesome to play, and Reikos design is meant to look like a cosplay SHAO Kahn because that's what his whole deal is. As far as I'm concerned people have only been using assists to extend but haven't seen the full potential of resets/set ups because they're so focused on how long the combo can get or the biggest damage.
@@pierrecudi4331 your talking about aesthetic. I’m talking about competitive play, the core scene of this franchise. The higher tier characters are so good that it completely makes every lower tier character almost completely unviable. And mind you, I say good. Because they are some that are good and well balanced and some op and some sooooo underwhelming. The base kits for some are so trash, that the cameo makes them barely viable.
Whenever I see Sareena Kameo I leave the video. Such unbelievably boring combo extension and projectiles to have to watch
