- Combat Camera, eli taistelukamerayksikkö kuvaa puolustusvoimien toimintaa kaikissa olosuhteissa. COMCAM-kuvaajat taistelevat painopisteen joukoissa, jotta puolustusvoimat voi välittää kuvaa suoraan tapahtumien keskeltä. COMCAM on vahva informaatio-operaatioiden kyky.
Kuvaajat ovat media-ammattilaisia, joille annetaan monipuolinen taistelukoulutus. COMCAM-yksikkö valitsee vuosittain 6-10 kuvausammattilaista vaativaan varusmieskoulutukseen. Palveluksen läpikäyneet sijoitetaan sodanajan COMCAM-tehtäviin.
The Combat Camera Unit documents all aspects of the Finnish Defence Forces. A COMCAM soldier films, photographs, and fights with the unit they are embedded in, so that the Defence Forces can utilize the material. COMCAM is a strong part of information warfare.
COMCAM soldiers are professionals in the media field, who receive diverse military training. Combat Camera recruits 6-10 Conscripts per year to fulfill their national service in one of the most challenging service branches. When mustered out the conscripts are placed in the reserves, with Combat Camera as their war time role.

I'm from Texas but I still like to watch these. There was a time when I feared for the allies on the russian border, but now I just feel sorry for the Russians. Their gear is prehistoric, their soldiers obviously under trained, and their logistics are nowhere to be seen. It's good to know that people like Finland are always ready, and should have no problem at all. 🤙🏼
We defend this country once before against Russia and we will do it again if needed.
When your homeland has been a battlefield for close to a millenia in known recorded history, the art of war tends to follow. The need to defend your independency should never be undermined or taken for granted.

Keeping Finland heavily forested is great defence in my opinion. Finnish camo makes those soldiers almost invisible and Im sure that they have excellent training for this kind of environment also.
True, the pine and spruce forests also give excellent all-year protection for aerial and satellite reconnaissance, when the defending troops can set tarps and sleep, group and move in the cover of the trees.
The land isn't kept that way for defensive reasons, it just happens that it's also economically the most valuable thing to do with the land, since it's not particularly good for agriculture.
The biggest advantage the forest terrain gives, it gives excellent cover from aerial bombardment. Even if the enemy has air superiority, they can't use it effectively thanks to the terrain and the excellent air defense systems we have

Finland was part of Sweden until the 17th century and part of Russia for hundreds of years thereafter. The Finns have never had their own independent country. I hope they will be under Russian control again...

Jos Ukrainan tykistö olisi yhtä suuri ja kehittynyt kuin Suomen niin ei veli venäläinen kovin tulisi läpi. Suomi ei leikittele ku kyse on tykistön vahvuudesta hyvä suomen puolustusvoimat!
Itseasiassa ukrainan tykistövahvuus taisi olla paperilla suurempi kuin suomen, mutta eivät ole ilmeisesti saaneet sitä kovin tehokkaasti käyttöön, kun eteneminen on tullut useammasta suunnasta, usein asutetulla alueella ja rintamalinjat ei ole olleet kovin selkeitä. Lisäksi paljon joukkoja oli sidottuna itärajalle kun hyökkäys tuli etelästä ja pohjoisesta. Toivottavasti meillä hyödyntäminen onnistuu paremmin jos siihen tilanteeseen jouduttaisiin.
@@asada135 Ukrainan ongelmana lienevät myös pääasiallisesti neuvostoaikaiset doktriinit, jotka eivät mahdollista tykkien hajaryhmityksiä tai tehokasta, kentälle hyvin hajautettua tulenjohtoa. Sama ongelma koskee toki myös Venäjää.

@Arecki882 Coming. Suwalki gap will be much smaller problem when Finnish Navy, with help from Swedes, close Gulf of Finland. Kaliningrad is your job south there. It is easy to eliminate naval wise (seriously restricted access to port).
Estonia, Latvia and Finland will have their ports open, and resupply flowing in case of war. Through Danish straits after Kaliningrad has been neutralized, and/or through Swedish ports in north. Gotland will be safe. Before any war Russian navy has to decide which ships it want to lose, situating them out in larger Baltic sea, and which ships it want to be marginalized, situated at the eastern end of Gulf of Finland, behind mine and missile barricade.

@@Arecki882 We have prepared to close the Gulf, well. .. since 1920s and did it for 4 years during last war. It is first priority to our Navy if we would had to fight russkies alone. Keep them away from our sea trade routes. Lots of big Easter eggs and firecrackers for Russian vessels are ready. Our preparations fit exactly what NATO would desire. Estonian left flank no-longer hang on air, it is solidly defended, as soon as our NATO paperwork gets through parliaments.
These guys are not the heroes you are seeking but they will do all they can to defend their freedom. And with freedom i mean the real FREEDOM, not something you go look another side of the world.

Täällä II/10 362 eikä ole itsellänikään kertauksia ollut. Pohjois-Karjalan Prikaatikin tosin lakkautettiin missä suoritin palveluksen ja meidän (PST) pääase oli raskassinko (musti) joka tainnut hävitä NLAWin myötä koulutuskäytöstä, niin liekkö siinäkin osasyynsä. :D Jatkossahan kutsuja rupeaa enemmänkin tulemaan, niin ehkäpä sitten. :)

Russia has shown the world how weak it is in light of its embarrassing and dismal invasion of Ukraine. If it wasn't clear beforehand, Russia would get absolutely decimated if it invaded Finland. And if Finland joins NATO, it'll be a hands-down suicide mission if Russia so much as steps one foot on Finnish soil. Part of me wishes they would, so Finland can claim back rightfully Finnish clay.

You don’t understand the tactics russia is using. It’s called a purge war. Draft a bunch of conscripts and put them into battle. The ones that survive will be battle tested for a bigger war. 90% of putins forces in Ukraine are conscripts. They still have a heap of good volenteer soldiers. We must stay weary of the bear because it still can bite hard and maybe kill you. The baltics are not safe unfortunately, but Poland, Finland are safe, we must stay vigilant
Believe me when I say this, a sacred war is coming sooner than later, a war to end Russia.
