  • After a fantastic stay in Seattle with Lois, it’s time to head back. I can’t think of a better way to travel back than by train! I’ve been looking forward to taking the Amtrak train from Seattle Washington to Vancouver Canada. I heard there was a nice Bistro on the Amtrak Cascades train, but just to play it safe, I’m going to pick up some snacks from Amazon Go and a new Taiwanese Bakery called 85c Bakery Cafe that is just a block away from Amtrak’s King Street Station.
This was a enjoyable 4 hour journey with comfortable seats, courteous attendants, and of course, a dining car with fantastic views. Along with the fantastic clam chowder, I had the opportunity to try out some of the conveniences and tasty meals from Amazon Go along with some indulgent desserts from 85C Bakery Cafe. I also had a chance to try an amazing coffee from cafe; a cold salted coffe that was smooth and creamy.

Most enjoyable trip and eating video. Good idea buying food in advance. I was interested to see you could take your own food into the dining car, and even have your steak warmed up. Maybe a standard thing, or it could be your usual enthusiasm and charm.

Hi Rich, I might have over done it with the amount of food, but I slept well afterwards :-) I believe they would do this (warm up food) for everyone as long as it's after the big rush at the beginning. Thanks again for taking the time to reach out. :-)

Wow this whole trip was phenomenal. I have always wanted to ride on a train. I hope I get to do that. I had heard of the Amazon go but I didn't know what it was. That was very interesting. And the soup and sandwich was a very good deal. I make homemade bread I'm going to tell you I even grind my own flour. That was nice looking bread. Thanks so much for the experience! 😁

Thank you again Indigenous Potliquor! Same here!
Always wanted to ride on a train and this was my first "real" train trip (albeit a relatively short one). Gosh, how does one mill their own flour?!?! That's pretty impressive! I tend to stay away from store bought bread but I do savor and enjoy home made breads -- especially with sour dough or just a proper yeast leaven bread it's much tastier. I'm quite lucky as I don't bake, but have many good friends who do :-) Thank you again!

Very nice video Tim 👍 just curious how did you get down to Seattle in the first place ? I wonder how it's like to ride the train in the morning 🤔 bet it's beautiful.. a year ago we had our first 85C location in Houston ..now we have 4 ..try the milk bun next time ..Amazon go seems pretty cool ..I wish we have one in Houston so I can do a review on it lol ..thank you for taking us along Tim 😀

Hi David! I did take the morning train, but that was so early I couldn't really film it -- I did try :-) The Amazon Go store was almost like a little 7-11 but the selections are very good. I tell ya, it was a full day of eating! breakfast on the train, the Buffet with Lois, the Starbucks excursion, a fried chicken break (at Edzel's) and the dinner on the train. Was happily stuffed :-)
