Was wearing my BMC edition Montane Terra pants today too. They are comfy. Stay warm Paul and team. I do wish they would bring back an updated version of the Chonos jacket.
@@trekitt I would really like your help I need a down jacket that’s suited for Ul daily life for these types of weathers today price range don’t matter going to purchase it from Trekkit
@@Scouseking For daily use, you can't go wrong with the Rab Valiance. Fully waterproof, windproof and about as warm as you'll need any jacket to be here in the UK. www.trekitt.co.uk/clothing/jackets/rab-mens-valiance-jacket-black__33918
Just got this, several websites claim its goose down, but the tracker says white duck. Have both this and the featherlight down. So will compare the 2 when it gets colder.
Paul: “Did I mention it’s got a really good pack size, and really low bulk... etc” Everyone: yes Paul, yes you did 🤣 Good point on the length guys, I have only just discovered Montane after kit from ME and Rab in the past. Montane fits really, really well for taller folk. I’m 6’4. I’ve always found Rab to be cut too high. And Mountain Equipment is ok... having said that mountain equipment has the best range of long trousers/ waterproofs I don’t think montane have any in a size L
This is the older version of the Anti Freeze jacket which used to use bigger baffles, we have an updated video on the updated models that you might find useful ua-cam.com/video/BQMlbAFjM8U/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Trekitt
Great review as usual - Saw in other comments that this jacket may be long in the body, I’m 5’5” - would you suggest the Rab Electron pro may be a better fit for length / a bit shorter??
The Anti-Freeze has changed now, so you've got a few different options. There's now an Anti-Freeze XT that is similar to the one in this video (pretty long), but also an Anti-Freeze Hoody (less insulation and shorter length) and an Anti-Freeze Jacket without a hood. The Electron isn't quite as long as the XT but not far off.
Hi another great review :) How does this compare to the rab electron pro. Which one is more shower proof and how do the compare size wise when packed. Cheers
Hi, thanks for watching. The Antifreeze jacket is lighter and will pack down smaller than the Electron Pro. However the Electron is far more weather resistant. HNY Paul.
It's pretty similar, but the Nebula Pro uses a synthetic insulation and is therefore better suited to wet conditions. The Anti-Freeze is lighter and will pack down smaller. So it all depends on where, when and how you intend to use your jacket. Thanks for watching. Paul.
Diplomatic but accurate answer: the one that fits you best. I use the Anti-Freeze as it fits me perfectly. Try all of them on if you can, as this will make far more difference than a 100 fill-power difference or 10g more insulation. Harry
Pretty similar, although I'd say the Anti-Freeze is a little roomier and the outer fabric feels more delicate. Warmth-wise they're near enough the same.
Fair point, but wouldn't it be a boring world if we were all the same? Besides, Montane offers a completely different fit to Rab. Thanks for watching. Paul.
What a great review. Just bought this jacket on sale last week.
Almost getting into Winnebago man territory. Good video. I might buy one.

Hi Eric, Montane make some really good kit and I'm glad you're putting yours to good use. Stay safe out there and Happy Christmas. Paul.
I seen this jacket in the shop and it was very shiny looking in the shop
Hi Jamie, the Anti-Freeze is certainly not a matte finish jacket, however the level of "shiny" is subjective. Thanks for watching. Paul.

Did you buy the xt or the regular version?

Love your reviews Paul.
How does this compare to the Mountain Lightline, after a jacket for around town.
The Lightline is a better town jacket. The Anti-Freeze feels lighter and techier. Harry
Is this the special edition version... The baffels look bigger..

How is this jacket competing to Patagonia down sweater?
Will you be doing a video for the new antifreeze xt and the protium xt jacket
Definitely the Anti Freeze, we're just waiting for it to arrive.

@@packsimons It's definitely less bulky than the Anti-Freeze, but here in the UK both will most likely be overkill for a midlayer.
