I finally just started modding Skater XL after having it on PC since like the beginning of the game when there was only one map. It’s like a completely different game now. Watching Milky’s vids made the modding process so much easier, and I’m so glad I finally did it lol. This game is way better with mods. I only wish easy day would add all these features to the main game. PS: Also can anyone help me with getting the dynamic clothing to work? That’s the last mod I want in the game and I can’t figure it out.
XL is dead to me, Lazy Day refuse to do the 1 thing the community has been asking for, for like what, 4 - 5 years nearly? This is the Alpha branch right? I was playing on public but it doesn't look that good then this version so I'll probably change it although I am gonna miss the better transition skating.
yo milky, when filming do you always record at half speed or lower and then speed it up to get the smoothest clips or is it not necessary with a higher end pc?
Installed this game after a year of not playing it yesterday.... Lasted about 20 minutes before I uninstalled it again and went back to Session, another abandoned half-ass skateboarding game. Though I do admit it felt wayyyyy more solid than it used to.... it just lacks any content making it worth playing.
I’m surprised after all these years nobody has made a mod to stop the hands clipping into your body on essentially every trick. Also when you do a heelflip there’s an annoying canned animation when you land that looks kind of lame - atleast when it’s every time.
Just imagine if they treated this game like an mmo. constant updates and work on the animations. It seems like once they got to this animation style they said done. This game should be updated like a normal live service game. Sadly this will never happen cause they consider it done. I could give a fuck less about maps.

the gameplay is nice but not matter whad you mod the pusshing in sxl looks so bad compared to how it used to be. And you can't tap spam it to go any faster like in session
To be honest, I think I’m pretty tired with both Session and Skater XL. They both are fun don’t get me wrong, but I feel like the devs have been lacking in innovation. Session still doesn’t have a realistic Goofy stance (and I play Goofy), and Skater XL rarely receives updates in-game plus by the devs. I also would like a more story focused game; Session has that slightly, but it’s really just challenges with a little bit of dialogue. And Skater XL just has challenges. I think I’m going to just wait for the new skate since Session and Skater got stale for me personally
@ Oh word, I haven’t been keeping up with Session too much. I think pigeonthief said something about the goofy stance being the next thing but Session has been out for yearss so idk lol
used to be a content creator for this game years ago , sad to see it fall but it does indeed suck as a game without the community behind it. even that being said the community sucks to.
It's one of the best maps in the game so far. Lonsdale Skatepark is a really fun map as well. Hopefully, we will get a skate 2 size map that isn't a skate 2 map to skate soon. As a SkaterXL fan, I appreciate all custom creations for the game, so no hate from me.
having a full studio behind the map making process would be nice but we've been running solo map projects with a few collaborative efforts... but a map to that scale takes years to model, texture, test, improve etc.. and the reward isnt there for people when the community can be so nitpicky. there are big maps floating around but they arent perfect quality for a reason.
so they can charge us for a new game that is just modded Skater xl 1? console players might buy it but you would have to be stupid to buy something like that on pc.

Skater XL has always stood out to me for it's mods and user created content.

There's a mod that lets you swap sticks etc
Think xl controler rotation might work. I use it for reversing switch.
