How sad it is that we fail our kids so badly. Fundamental Physics is the foundation upon which everything (yes, everything) is built. If we taught our kiddies to appreciate, understand and apply the principles of physical science, we would have a world of innovators, inventors and fearless entrepreneurs - all striving to make a better future.

Also sad that we live in a society where people are using physics multiple times per day (TV, radio, smartphones, GPS, computers, fibre optic internet - which uses lasers that depend on quantum physics) yet so many of these people, who don't go a single day without these things, are actually anti-science!

@@josephastier7421 try to make hyperloops that are completely impossible for the most part. He want to make electric rockets into space and land on like the other side of the planet it's impossible because the amount of force required to set a rocket is massive amounts of energy being released in like less than a minute batteries are the opposite long term weak energy. This works in cars because they are lighter not being shot uplwards. Oh by the way if anything wrong happens to hyperloop like I dont know maybe a big rock falls or hits or some lunatic with an 50 cal shoots the outside the Loop would cause mile of this tubes per 0.01 atmosphere of pressure to implode for miles. And He already "opened" the loop instead of it being a super fast vaccum tube going hundreds of miles per hour. He instead used it to make a bunch of Tesla's that will go into a tunnel like a highway tunnel. not a vaccum tube a tunnel. Like the type of tunnel I could build given the proper toolbelt and a lot of time. So as I was saying you get on this track and they put on a platform that locked your wheels in. Going OMG 30 MILES PER HOUR!!!!... Wait he said it was going to be 100s which based on the track length and it's tight spaces like a truck wouldn't fit it also wouldnt have time accelerate or decelerate safely before hitting the end. If anything went wrong and somebody hurt themselves your fucked since your underground and having only an elevator He's making deals with china India and many other countries investing... Yah great china needs to know all of our breakthrough technology. Hes take so much of that tax payer money and just want to give him more. Oh by the way those electric rockets are 20 times less efficient at burning fuel. And lithium isn't cheap, well maybe not for elon his parents were rich, own a lithium and used child labor also to mine for it.and that often involves burning coal. All this could be avoid but him admitting he was wrong years ago hes also a totalitarian dictator who will fire you at moment's notice if you can't find the solution, ask anyone who worked with him. He knows basic programming and understands probably slot about certain topics that went to college for before he dropped out I believe he sold his ~13 percent invested In the PayPal when it wasn't even called that. He owned a site call x.com and tried to merge with confinity. They decided on Paypal but elon wanted it to be called x.com they said no that sounds like a porn site so he took his share the. Took credit for single handedly creating PayPal. I could go on like how he fucked two of his co-workers who worked on the electric car with him and took complete ownership of tesla after his backstabbing tactics worked he's not stupid he is a chess grandmaster at human and market manipulation. Idk maybe take that technology and don't try to build it since even if we could it would be incredibly dangerous like 20% of rocket launches end in catastrophe and planes are like 99.999% likely to survive. And reusing them almost has no effect on performance and chance of crash. To do 90% success rate on a single use rocket would be a break through how about we focus on that first and take the leftove money and give it to the pigmies in Africa or making oil wells so childen don't die from dehydration or disease that comes from dirty polluted water or perhaps we could help in trying to invest that money in making something like mushrooms that eat plastic and radiation. We then figure out how they do. so we can do it on a large scale maybe in an artificial way. These are problems we can attack now. It's 2021 and basically we just graduated elementary school. Maybe we should go through middle school and high school before jumping into your doctorate one step at a time. And practical steps. Maybe a hundred years from now we will have some form propulsion that more powerful and more efficient and material that doesnt melt when exposed to it. Until then leave start with actual problems we already know how to solve and just need the money to implement. also if you take all the money that elon has gotten from loans through the taxes, government , and other countries. Then payed them back. He would go from being a mulitbillionare with over 150 billion dollars (about 1/5th the cost to run the entire US military for a year. Or ~3% of the entire US annual budget) to billions of dollars in debt. Now tell me how he is so great. I could write a book about his flaws that is large than the damn bible. bullshit. I'm almost done. If you read HIS white papers they are heavily flawed. The only reason any come to fruition is because the engineers he hires (that haven't already been fired for failing) to fix it and denied his employees payed leave if they got covid. (Which I believe is illegal) to praise him is like praising king Tut saying "the pyramids are so beautiful and you built all yourself!" And Tut replies "Yup with a little slave labor but I do deserve all the credit since I came up with the idea." Even though people die daily from being overworked it's no problem. Lmk if you actually read this I understand you are probably unaware of all this I was ignorant too when I was younger and thought he was a god. When I did research I realized i was just falling into confirmation bias listening only to fans not critics and once I got both sides the fog cleared and I saw through his lies. Hope you read this all the way through (I probably would have given up reading this by now also lol) have a good one and always question EVERYTHING!

Good points, Mr. Musk! I've always felt that the Shuttle Program cut far too many corners on safety. I was never surprised that Challenger and Columbia were lost, especially when the majority of engineers did NOT agree to launch, further jeopardizing the flights by doing so in the cold conditions that they were not designed to! As I understand it, the Shuttle program was developed to save money without the foresight of doing so with the proper safeguards utilized. In the end, the Shuttle program was a political device to either prove that a space program wasn't economically viable or that it was a waste of money entirely. You have proven them all wrong. You have my admiration for your patience, flexibility, tenacity and incredible dedication to continuously improve till it's done and properly!!

"Oh wow, wings, what are those things"
Imagine that there is another species out there, and their live evolved on a planet with no atmosphere, and therefore had no reason to create wings. They likely would master space travel much quicker than a species that developed on a planet with an atmosphere like ours. But then imagine them trying to sort out landing on a planet with an atmosphere, and having no concept of aerodynamics, wings, lift, drag, etc.....I bet that would be an interesting issue to solve from the other side lookin in.
Now imagine that we've achieve habitation on a moon like Luna. The ability to research and develop more capable space flight would likely accelerate by a large margin provided the time and effort was applied to the research. When there is no alternative like in the first paragraph, it leaves you trying to solve it as a primary issue.

From there, more is good, but more is NEVER ENOUGH for most of us. The first and hardest thing is to BE enough, and be thankful for one’s self. You are amazing and lucky in many ways. “I was unhappy because I had no shoes. Then I met a man with no feet.” I’m really sad to know you recognize your potential, and feel held back from doing whatnot amazing things. This is a boring reply, but you have what you need to BE excellent. So do I, and here’s the paradox: the biggest obstacle between me and Excellence... is Me. It’s me, until I learn to appreciate my self, and then others. Until I do those things well, nothing will ever satisfy me. I pray those things for you. (Right here. For you. Thank God for you. @@BradHollinger-iZ Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I have prodigious talent in a narrow area, plus good talent in a wide area, but also several handicaps which hamper everything... plus a lot of bad luck. Part of getting as far as I have was to reject the LIE of the American Dream that "hard work and perseverence creates inevitable success." _It does not._ Blaming myself for not being superman got me nowhere but downhill. I finally recognized that what I have to do is collaborate, and I like to, but that is a 2-way street and I seem to lack the knack of getting others 'onto my team.' This is very common with Asperger's, because somehow we are blamed for making others uncomfortable, even though we are trying not to.

In a pinch, it’s no surprise an ordinary person might stick with what they know. @YodaWhat, I don’t know you or your story, but meeting and working with a new person takes effort. It can, and usually does, have lots of uncomfortable moments. Extraordinary people will stick with any collaboration IF they’re a good match for the opportunity, and patient enough to get to know you.
So, the opportunity has to be one that TRULY interests them, one they believe can succeed, and if you are patient enough with them, AND yourself, to help them learn and get comfortable with whatever you think is important to know about you. Maybe go slow at first?

Here's an idea I just came up with, from a guy who never gives science a thought, but is getting interested because I want an electric car and I follow Elon: Using his Boring Machine to dig a "rocket hole" straight down, perpendicular to the Earth, a kilometer deep....or however deep makes sense, to use the "rocket hole" to launch a rocket into space.
Install a "space elevator" inside the "rocket hole". Load the rocket on the "space elevator". The "space elevator" could be powered by electricity, using solar energy and a giant battery to store solar energy.
I'll leave aside the complexity of the design to those better qualified....
The mechanics could be simplified by air, pumped from air compressors powered by electricity attained from solar energy. I've seen the physics of this done by water. Air would do the same thing, in an air tight chamber: I remember as a kid seeing someone hook up a fire hydrant, shooting water down a gopher hole, knowing the water was going to come up and escape in another gopher hole, into the air at high pressure! Out with the water, came flying a gopher! Into the air!
A series of air compressors could build up pressure and be synchronized with computers, so the air compressors would not need to be huge....just lots of them....off the shelf stuff. Pressure would be added and controlled as needed, to build up speed as the elevator gained momentum.
The elevator starts slowly, then gains speed. By the time the rocket pops it's head out of the "rocket hole" it is going at a very high speed, it's flying at high speed already, into the air, so the booster rockets can be quite small, to get the rocket into orbit.....most of the rocket booster energy has been supplied by the elevator, air and electricity and solar panels.
Hey and if this idea makes "no sense" for reasons that I don't know about...I'm OK hearing about that, I won't be offended if you tell me it obviously won't work.... I'm a guy who barely thought about mechanical things, beyond my can opener....LOL

First of all I would like to be one of the many to thank Elon Musk for his leadership, determination and all of his efforts of helping humanity clean up our environment with sustainable energy programs. Also with his commitment of SpaceX to allow the exploration of space for future colonization. Our world is a fragile place that currently holds all of humanities eggs in one basket. By spreading our wings and being able to leave our nest we will ensure that human consciousness will live on outside of our planet. I was asked by A very wise man in the early 2000s if I had millions of dollars to help humanity, what would the most important innovations be in business for all of humanity? I knew that the petroleum industries were polluting our air water and food to the point that people were getting sick and dying of diseases, from those major fossil fuel pollutants. As we talked further and further about electric vehicles, transportation, solar power and other sustainable energies. He said, "I think you're right and it should be done!" He as well had been pondering that question. Trying to be thorough though, he asked if anything else should be focused on for all of humanity? I said, "Yes and in case of a global disaster whether it be climatic, an asteroid strike or another WORLD WAR, I suggest that space exploration and colonization also be considered to prevent the collapse of human consciousness as we know it!" Thinking back all of those years almost seems like a deja vu to where we are today. Again I can't think of anyone else but Elon that would put all of their FORTUNE on the line for the best of humanity. With his consistant focus and extremely innovative leadership, he is leading the world out of darkness and into the light of the rest of our universe. So much yet to learn and do but thanks to the lead of people like Elon we can be stepping in the right direction. We all have more in us to offer the rest of the world. So let's do it! This is the time and we are the people that will change the world! For those of you who like these ideas or have some of your own to offer, please let me know. I appreciate all of you and your comments. Let's shoot for the Moon and Mars then we will end up amongst the Stars!

Ideas defy laws of physics... but still, they give light.
You will be able to see the impossibles and the "not impossibles" by the ideas.
Even I, I need to ask how the materials work, so even I myself can correct the base of the ideas, until new things will be achieved according to the laws of physics...out of those ideas.

      We already saw it, right?
