This is an audio recording of a presentation given by Giorgio Agamben in Tarnac, France, during a workshop titled “Défaire l'Occident”, in july and august of 2013. The title proposed by Agamben is “For, or toward a theory of destituent power”. Another version of this presentation was later offered in Athens, in November 2013. Different version of the text of this presentation exist in French and English (URLs below). The argument also forms the “epilog” of the last book of Agamben’s Homo Sacer series: The Use of Bodies.
