It's crazy that someone could die while towing a banner about a seafood buffet special

I still don't understand how a banner gets dropped off. Every video I've seen shows them picking up but I haven't found a video yet that shows how they drop off.

When I was 11 years old in 1977 behind my Mom Moms house in Selbyville.there was a 2500 ' grass runway about an 1/8th mile from her kitchen door that had a banner operation. Mr. Bunting would most likely remember the airfield owned by Mr. Virgil McCabe.
East of that location by about a mile was Manaen Warringtons airfield which also had banner operations..
The summer off 77 was a wondrous and tragic. I was 11 years old....I pestered myself to a position of being able to build banners and be part of the crew.
Elvis died that year and right after his demise Delmarva News ( a popular paper at the time) did a front page story on me as I started an Ariel photo business at 11'years old.
Because of child labor laws they couldn't pay me for my labor but they would take me for flights once or twice a week.. if you've ever flown out of Salisbury airport since 1980 more than likely Capt. Bob Hudson was your pilot and he was one of the banner pilots back then.
What a wonderful summer it was...1977.... a celebrity at 11....two weeks into the school year. My mother came home from the store and told me that she spoke with Virgil McCabe at the store and informed me that Mr. Don Earlback ( the owner of the planes and banner business) was killed in a plane accident and the entire operation was gone....no more airplanes...no more Citabrias...no more celebrity for an 11 year old.
Still not over it to this day.
