This is funny listening to as a Black American- Because we created rap/HipHop. Rap was very uplifting and inspirational at creation, then bc of systemic oppression creating poverty, the intro of drugs which increased crime and created the hood, mainstream rap became about the hood and struggle… Street credit is/was important to gangster rap, BUT conscious rap NEVER disappeared and it is regaining its popularity and rebranding the image of rap/HipHop making it more and more diverse- so much actually inspires rap.

I agree with your observation. There is a shift in rap that is moving away from gangster rap. Groups like Flyana Boss and Lil Nas X break the stereotypical rapper image into pieces. I'm ready for something different to be on the scene cause it hasn't changed since I was in my early 20's.
I agree this was very awkward to me as well being American. Mostly bc people have such bad opinions of Black Americans and hip hop but they copy it and it’s ok for them…. I guess that’s weird and hypocritical to me. I don’t care for any of this modern hip hop American or otherwise.. it’s become too negative. However, I think Moon and this guy had a nice chemistry and they would be SO cute together.

Its good to see how much black Americans have influenced the entire world. Hip-hop, jazz, blues, gospel, r and b, rock and roll were all created by specifically black Americans. It became black Americans culture born out of the hard circumstances we faced. To go through so much hardships and turn it into something great that now people from everywhere have been inspired by it absolutely amazing

Short story about France: I am also French and I come from the south, and it's absolutely true what Moon says, in the south, there is a big city called "Marseille" and it's the 2nd biggest city in France (after Paris) and we kinda are in competition with Paris for everything, like rap, football or everything else😂😅But it s mostly with rap and football I think. Oh and a little advice, PSG is Paris's football club (it means Paris Saint Germain), for your safety, NEVER go to Marseille wearing a soccer jersey of PSG because there is a big rivalry between PSG (Paris's football club) and l'OM (Olympique of Marseille, the Marseille's football club)😅

There are a few exceptions though, but she's too young to know them ;)
I only know about old school French rappers, like IAM, NTM, Saian Supa Crew... my most recent sounds are from the Secteur A, then TTC period XD (90s-00s)

Yes, I’d like to add that there aren’t many really successful women rappers in France and it’s pretty hard to become really popular as a girl. And being a black woman at that (just look at how the medias treat aya nakamura) En France de ce que j’ai vu en tout cas je connais pas beaucoup de rappeuses connues mais c’est cool qu’elle s’aventure en corée !
@@SoSodawgindahouse je suis d'accord, il me semble qu'en France on est encore tres macho, et ca nous a fait prendre un ENORME retard en hiphop alors qu'on etait bien lances... les seules rappeuses que je peux citer (Diam's, Casey, Keny Arkana) sont quand meme "bizarrement" tres masculines dans l'attitude, et toutes avec des capacites d'ecritures superieures, ce qu'on n'exige pas de la majorite des rappeurs...
En France, si tu es feminine, on te prend de haut et clairement on te prend pour un accessoire, je trouve... quand TTC traitait les femmes a longueur d'album, les mecs disaient "c'est de l'humour faut pas le prendre au premier degre"... mais le jour ou Yelle (non rappeuse) les a fume en un titre unique, tous mes potes avaient tout d'un coup perdu leur sens de la blague... c'etait tres drole mais vraiment pathetique ! on n'a pas trop progresse depuis, alors c'est une bonne idee d'aller en Coree!

@@SoSodawgindahouse You're right, apart from Lady Laistee aka la Mygale, M'passi from Bisso na Bisso, who rapped from time to time but was mainly known for her vocals, and is well into French gospel now, Diam's before she reverted to Islam, Keny Arkana, if you're from Marseille and you love rap music you have to know her, or among the youngest Kayanna Isis Queen, etc...

Interesting how once he took off his blindfold, he asked her if she wants to speak English. But Moon's Korean is so good he didn't notice any difference before! Perception of her changed instantly as soon as he saw her skin color. 😒 Just like they were talking about in the other video
True, but I don't think it's as deep as it seems you're trying to make it. The way I saw it was him trying to make her feel more comfortable in a language he thought she originally spoke, not because he thought her Korean was bad.. obviously her Korean is VERY good, but bc he wanted to connect with her and make her feel comfortable to speak a language she's known longer (assuming she's American). Of course it's not right to assume, but the assumption seemed to come from wanting to be considerate rather than belittling.
Notice how she switched from both English and Korean throughout the video. She cleared up where she was from but was also okay with speaking English which she was told that he didn't mind. I had a friend who's Puerto Rican. I didn't know a lot of Spanish but I talked with her from the Spanish I did know and I made her really happy and she wanted to continue talking in Spanish because that was her native language. I think that's what he was trying to do. That's something they do with foreigners they think comes from America.🫶🏽🫶🏽

Awh she’s only 2 years younger than me, I wish I had her creativity when it comes to writing, I’m happy she’s been able to make a tiny breakthrough in the industry since it’s very uncommon for someone from such a unique background to come from France to Korea and be successful. I hope she makes a name for herself, she’s an underground artist now but I think she’ll be a girl boss in no time with people like Ash B etc. drill is still very niche in Korea so hopefully it becomes more popular and her along with it

I grew up with Hip Hop and she is wrong..most famous Rappers in France are the older ones which are legends now. Rappers in France have a very high competition and are on a high level Europe wise. The old school french Rap legends are : NTM, I AM , Rim'k, Lacrim,Saian Supa Crew etc... the new ones are a few like she mentioned Niska etc. ! She wouldn't have a chance there 😅 ...
